Topic: Lorne's Hideout
The hideout is rather simple, a former warehouse for a now non-existent merchant corporation. When you first enter, it is a small corridor for about 5 more feet then it opens out into a larger room. All the walls are made of old shipping crates, some sitll together and staked while other parts are just one side of the old crates. This first room has an old and worn red rug in the center a few steps from the corridor, and it stretches to an equally worn pair of couches lining the far wall. The rug is about 10 feet wide and 20 long, the width is from the corridor to the couches.

To the right is the warehouse wall while to the left the crates end and turn a corner to where Lorne stores everything he brings with him, and everything he has acquired in this city. Lorne places Henas sitting on one of the couches and Reko sitting next to him.

"Just place him there," Lorne says to Blade, pointing to the other open couch. He then takes off his cloak and throws it to the side and onto the rack adjacent to the entry-corridor. Walking around the corner, Lorne exclaims with joy, "Hey boy." He says, as Dolor, his black-forest horse, strolls to him and neighs in delight at seeing him again. Lorne walks to one of his crates and pulls out a chunk of plain bread, feeding the strong and sturdy mount. "There you go Dolor, enjoy."

He then walks to a pair of sealed crates and drops his back and belt packs onto them, keeping his blades over his hips as he turns around and walks back to the opening room.

Blade peered around, impressed. Although it didn't look like much- she liked it, it was her kind of place.

"Just place him there," Lorne told her, pointing to the unoccupied couch. She nodded silently, letting go of the girl and dragging the werewolf over to the couch and dropping him on. Feeling sorry for the guy, she pulled his legs up onto the couch so he was laying across it.

Apparently Lorne had left the room and was now talking to someone or something in another room. Blade shrugged, unstrapping her sword from her back and laying it in front of her, she sat on the floor with her legs crossed, closing her eyes in meditation waiting for him to return.

Lorne comes back around the corner, holding a peice of the healing bread that is also moistened in his strong liquor, placing the small peice in Kael's mouth, then he turns and sits on the rug, feeling cozy being back at his place. He sits and watches Blade meditate, trying not to interrupt.

Feeling eyes upon her, Blade opens one eye slowly with a half smile to see Lorne watching her. Calmly, she closes her eye again and speaks,

"So, why, exactly can't... Henas, did you say?... Henas' father, the King see him like this? Surely he'd understand it was out of his control."

Returning the small smile to Blade, Lorne replies, "Well, according to Henas, he was supposed to be with his tutor today, and they apparently have a sort of deal where Henas goes off on his own while the tutor does the same. Another part of the deal is the tutor tells Henas' father that Henas was there learning. But today, that obviously wasnt true, and I believe the tutorings are within the palace walls, so a lone werewolf only attacking him of all people, with no one else seeing it too?" Lorne ends, reasoning that to be the situation.

"Interesting." Blade raised an eyebrow but her eyes remained closed. For a beat, she remained silent then, "So the princeling is going to be in big trouble with his daddy, right? Not to mention he's probably going to develop some more worlfish tendencies soon."

Biting her lip, Blade tried to clear her mind and think of a plan of some sort.

Nodding, but then forgetting Blade has her eyes closed, replies "Yes, essentially. But, it is reasonable his father would have a cache of the cure, and I think I might have a plan to solve this certain dilemma. Actually, two options." He adds in, thinking of another.

"Well," Lorne begins, noticing her interest, "one is I could sneak in and steal a dose or whatever the cure is. I've been trained for that sort of stealth and swift-fighting. Another, more diplomatic and straight forward plan would be using the tutor. We would have him vouch that he had taken the prince out of the palace to show him around, or spar him to train the prince's swordmanship, when suddenly they were attacked by Kael here, the werewolf."

Lorne stands up and takes off his blades, weighing him down and feeling a bit awkward with them on while sitting around his 'home.' As he makes his way back to the rug, Dolor walks around the corner and looks at all the new guests. Dolor then lowers himself and lays down against the couch with Henas and Reko ontop.

Changing the subject, Lorne asks, with genuine interest noticable in his voice, Blade. "So, how did you end up in a town like this?"

Hearing an od noise, strangely like... hooves?... Blade opened her eyes to find a beautiful black-forest horse lying opposite her, near the couch of the princeling and the little man. She smiled and looked back to Lorne as he spoke again,

"So, how did you end up in a town like this?" he asked, seemingly genuinely interested- 'that's a first for a long while', Blade thought wryly. Giving up on her meditation for the moment, she stretched out her legs, flexing her toes before answering,

"Well... I was born to an elf and a half-breed elf/human in the city of Cabor, off to the east coast- meaning way out in the middle of nowhere in a dirty great forest. I left after my... seventeenth year and travelled all over. I moved from city to village to town in all sorts of places just doing odd jobs from cooking and cleaning to other... more dubious tasks," with this, she smiles wryly, secretively then continues, "I travelled for so many years that I've lost count but I've seen so many wonderous and beautiful things. Many bad things too, I assure you but, I've always felt beauty and kindness leaves a greater impact than cruelty. The last place I lived was about four weeks travel from here and I'd lived there for... three years. I'm nothing special, in all honesty but, I'd gained a..." she glances at the little girl, obviously choosing what to say carefully, "disreputable reputation around those parts and decided it was time to leave." she watched Lorne for his reaction and cocked her head to the side again, "What about you?"

Reko stirred and slowly opened his eyes. He groaned and closed them. The pain was gone, but his head hurt. "Ow, ow, ow... Henas, you alright? Can't see you... wait, my eyes. Oh yeah..." Reko opened his eyes again and rubbed them, turning around to look at Henas. "Hey, you awake? Alright? Alive...?" the last word caught him off guard and he squeaked, "You're not dead, what am I talking about?" he poked Henas in the side of the head, "Hello? Reko to Henas, can you hear me and..." suddenly he noticed the other people in the room and he blushed. Mentally he counted them off. Cloaked man, werewolf, little girl, big girl and prince. After much thought he finally came to the conclusion that the big girl wasn't there before.

"Who are you?" he asked, incining his head. Then to Henas he said, "I know a cure... going to be a bit hard to find but I know one. What say y'all?"

((Just got back and I'm sleepin'over that is! Sharing the computer's annoying though...))

Kael sniffed the air. The word wolfish was heard and that made him chuckle. Well, it was a funny joke. He blinked and looked up at the others, eyes suddenly flying to the royal. He got up, noticing that his wounds were gone, wobbled a bit, then stumbled over to the couch, leaning on the arm next to Henas. "Hello, you smell nice." he remarked casually. Crawling over and onto the arm, he bent down to sniff the gingery hair on the prince's head. "You're very pretty, sir." he ignored the odd stares he was getting. Something was different about the royal; something he wasn't quite sure about. Jumping down, Kaellanded softly on Henas' lap and laid back, as if it was something that was seen in every day life.

"What say y'all?" he turned to regard the wiry haired man with the hat and smiled, ignoring the raised eyebrows,

"Only if he's coming!" Suddenly he noticed the new girl in the room and smiled, pointed canines peaking from behind his lips, "So, who are you?"

Her outlook on human relations had just shattered into itty-bitty pieces, right before her eyes.

Interrupting their conversation, not that it really mattered, the werewolf and the little guy finally woke up, Blade grinned to herself as she watched them.

First the little guy stressed over the princeling then the werewolf succeeded in freaking the little girl out, plus everyone else. Still, no one knew, exactly who anyone else was.

"Who are you?" the wolf-boy asked, much like the little guy beforehand. She grinned, deciding She would be a bit of a pain in the bum to these wierd, hyper-active- not to mention injured people.

"Blade." she answered simply, nodding to the newly awoken men. "And you are?"

"Kael, Kael Omorthan. I guess the secret's out though..." Kael sighed and tugged at a loose thread on the couch. "I'm a werewolf. Spyre says I'm the only one; but that was then... and now..." he blushed but the grin on his face held. Turning away from Blade Kael looked back around the room and saw Lorne. A sinking feeling settled in the pit of his stomach but he grinned on. "Hey cloak-boy! Gonna try and kill me again?" he stuck his tongue out and chuckled. "Just remember, hit me, you hit the prince." as he said that, he tried to make himself more comfortable in the unknowing royal's lap.

Reko raised his eyebrows and absently shifted further from Kael. Raelee seemed to agree when she followed suit. His understanding of human nature was just thrown out the window.

Turning to Blade, he regarded her with a smile, "Well, I'm Reko. Just Reko. No fancy names or anything. Now, I, Reko, am requiring some food. Cloak-boy, where in the name of whatever deity has your devotion, is the food? Prefrebly a steak... and wine, good wine, not the cheap stuff. Oh, and I wouldn't mind a new hat, I think orange might be going out of season. Hey, Kael, want the hat? Here you go." He thre Kael the hat, "Now what was I going to--Steak! Yeah, that's right. Steak, steak, steak. Love steak...." he got up awkwardly from the couch, rubbed his arm, then started burrowing through the crates.

Anything to get out of the wolf-boy's awkward-situation-creating powers.

Raelee squeaked and quickly followed Reko. She jumped up to him and whispered, "You okay? Arm hurt? Need help? Why is he doing that...?" she made a face then straightened and dusted off her dress. Turning to Blade she asked, "So, Miss, what are you doing in this ol' citadel? Any jobs? My name is Raelee and I'm here with my father. Why did you help us? Do you like the quiet swordsman over there?" she pointed to Lorne, "and what about me? My mama says I'm pretty. You're pretty. What's your real name? 'Blade'can't really be your name can it?" finally exhausted of all questions, she quieted, looking eagerly up at Blade.

[Sorry- I read 'little' somewhere and she couldn't call him anything else cuz she didn't know his name untill now. Lol. won't do THAT again! :p]

Blade raised an eyebrow at the little girl as she looked up at her expectantly, she smiled, ruffling Raelee's hair,

"Well, I'm here looking for somewhere to stay for a while. No jobs so far. I hope your father is well. I helped because i felt like it. Lorne is fine. You are beautiful and your mama is right. Thank you very much and no my real name is not 'Blade'. Okay?" she replied in the same manner the little girl had asked her questions. She glanced at Reko, shaking her head slightly at his mad antics then at Kael on the princelings lap.

"You know Kael, you're quite strange, you realise." she said calmly, walking over, apparently the horse had wandered off by now, and sitting next to the werewolf, waiting for Reko to finish his slightly irratic searching.

Reko pulled out a mouldy loaf of bread from the crate, took a bite, then sat down on the floor in front of the couch next to Raelee to listen in and perhaps join in on the conversation.

"Kael, if you were any more dumb I'd have killed you before you turned into the werewolf." Lorne says sarcastically, although his tone didn't really play it off as sarcasm too well. Seeing Reko and Raelee go looking for food, Lorne stands up and walks past them, to a few metal crates. Dolor is sleeping by them now, and wakes up, hearing everyone talking.

Lorne opens one of the crates and produces two small metal spits, and he places them on the floor nearby. Then, he strains as he pulls out a rather large sack of rockets about three times the size of a human fist.

He pulls the supplies a few feet away and looks up, checking his position under the open skylight up above. Makeshift chimney, really. He sets up the two spits a few inches apart, and then with the stones he makes a small ring around both of them.

Seeing the man setup, Dolor stands up nad stretches, then goes to an empy, extra crate and brings the loose lid to Lorne. Lorne breaks the lid into smaller wood blocks and places them under the spits. He then sits up and pulls out some hay from an open crate, placing the hay around the wooden blocks. Drawing and willing his dagger to light up into small flames, Lorne lights the two fire setups and asks everyone, "So what do you guys want to eat? I have some beef, a little pork, about the same in rabbit, duck, rice, and small rations of random vegetables and fruits." He stands up from the spits and walks over to the growing crowd, to maybe join in the conversation as well.

"STEAK!!" Reko blurted immediately, his mouth already watering and quickly standing up, he tackled Lorne, ran over him and back to the crates, rummaging through them, "Is the steak in here? How 'bout here? Here? Tell me, I'm starving--And that wasn't a very nice thing to say to Kael!"

"Odd? You're one to talk." Reko adopted a look of mock hurt, "No, no. I'm not odd, just dying. Not a nice thing, mind you. To be honest, I think it's quite a bad thing, dying is. Nope, not really looking forward to it. And now, thanks to mister 'you shot me' my death has just been quickened and-is that even a word?- Anyway, that shot that I used to shoot the wolf man just cost me. But nope, either from the fact that I am going to DIE, everything is just PEACHY!" Reko sniffed, "And on top of all that, I'm starving for some steak. Now, while I upturn a few crates, what about yourself. You tried to kill Kael, I think you tried to kill me, can't remember, and you DIDN'T Try to kill Blade. Gotta soft spot for women or something? But, mind you, I think Kael could classify as a woman, looking at his current position that is. Actually I think that snuggling with a prince is quite feminine." Reko coughed nervously into his hand and blushed. So, perhaps he needed some more sleep. But that would be after he had, had his steak. Returning to the crates and tipping one's contents onto the floor, Reko waited noisily for Lorne's response, picking up a tattered blue hat he had found and trying it on.

"Actually, you should be living, as the small peices of bread I gave you have healing salve, which can heal rather deep gashes in a matter of hours. So, you should be fine. Also, I did not try to kill you, only Kael because I was trying to defend Henas, which I obviously failed at earlier. I did not try to kill Blade either, because she wasn't threatening like Kael was. " Lorne replies cooly, then lets a snicker at Reko's assumptions. "I do believe you're right about that one though, and quit destroying everything I'll get the steak out." Lorne climbs back to his feet and over to a crate a few away from Reko, and opens it up. He draws out a couple pounds of steak and another two of duck meat, which he places on the floor, ontop of the parchment they came with. Lorne then draws out a flat, metal, pan-looking-object, which he hangs on one of the spits and he places all the meat evenly on top of the pan over the flames.

Lastly, Lorne grabs a pot, water, and some tea packets which he makes over the other spit.

"Be patient Reko, they'll be done soon." Lorne reassures the man.

Henas woke up at last to the smell of cooking meat. It was good, very good. Then he remembered his situation and grunted in annoyance. He had got past the stages where you cry and are angry and now was just looking for an end to it. He felt something slightly heavy in his lap and looked down. There was a man in his lap. A Man? In His Lap? Henas had had enough. He gave as hard a shove as he could and pushed the man on the floor. It gave him some satisfaction although his arm was practically on fire now.

"Um. Hey everybody, I'm awake again." He looked round to see there was someone new. Not being sure whether they had been introduced while he was unconscious he thought he'd give it a chance. "Henas Jirrl and you are ?" He never bothered announcing about him being Prince, people always seemed to know anyway.

Then he also noticed that they weren't in the streets anymore but in some kind of hideaway. It looked good but slightly cramped with too many boxes.

"Well, my fater always said that my mother was a beautiful and loving woman. As far as my father goes, he was a hard-working smithy, and an amazing father. His great-grandfather crafted this dagger, and my spatha was the last thing my father made before his death." Lorne pulls both his blades out and places them to the side. "He was a real loving man, and when our village was attacked by a large pirate gang, he fought off four of them with the dagger, but was mortally wounded. When more men came, I killed one in a surprise attack and crippled another. They were going to kill me too, but surviving militia and villagers saved me, and forced me to hide deep in the house after they got rid of the pirates there. Three days later, I came out of the house, sobbing and weak, and searched the village for anyone. They were all dead. Every last one of them." Lorne shudders, holding back the water in his eyes. Looking at the meats, Lorne sees that they are done, so he pulls out a thick wool cloth, placing it on the rug. He then pulls the pan off the spit and onto the wool.

Lorne then goes to another crate and produces plates and cups for everyone. He stacks the plates by the pan of meat, with one of his smaller daggers there to cut it up. "I'm sorry, I havn't found any silverware in here yet. It never bothered me, and I never had guests before. If any of you want to look, I'll show you the crates I havn't rummaged through yet." He then walks to the tea pot and pours out the tea evenly in the cups for everyone, placing them on the ground nearby to the pan.

"Please, enjoy." Lorne says to everyone, laying down on the far side of the pan to the crowded couch, with his own cup of tea. He's letting everyone else chose their food first.

Henas felt a bit unnerved by being watched so completely by Kael but the tension was undone a bit by Lorne telling the story of his childhood.

"Just don't concentrate in those wolfish eyes. Don't think about them." Henas muttered to himself under his breath so no one heard. He told a large bite from the meat as solace and some of the juices dribbled down his chin. This was so different to the palace and not necessarily in a good way.
