The girl looked away and Dax could see a tear make it's way down her face. "Well, thanks, then I guess."

Dax smiled sadly. "You're welcome, miss."

She looked at him, eyes narrowed. "My name's Kate, stop with the 'miss' thing, it's annoying."

Reine looked up. "Hello Kate," he whispered.

{Scotty?}

Kate looked at Reine. "Hello to you, too." she looked back and forth between the two boys. "Who are you two, anyway? I haven't seen you around town."

"I'm Dax," Dax replied, "And this is my boyfriend, Reine."

Reine looked up at Dax, a sort of half smirk on his face. "I can introduce myself, thank you very much." Then he turned to Kate, dropping the smirk. "What happened to your sister?"

Dax just shook his head at Reine and waited for Kate to reply.

"She... she got attacked," Kate told them, staring at the ground. "By some evil men. And by the time I found her, I couldn't do anything."

Reine nodded, not knowing what to say.

"She's at peace now, Kate, you don't need to worry," Dax told her. "How old was she?"

"About fifteen," Kate replied, still staring at the ground.

"How old are you?"

"About eleven." Kate looked up at him, "Why?"

"Do you have any place to stay?"

She shook her head.

Reine looked up at Dax, thinking that he knew what Dax was going to say next.

((YAY! Yeah he is))

Dax glanced at Reine. "Do you care?"

Kate was still staring at the ground.

{K, thought so...}

Reine shook his head. "She can," he replied.

Dax smiled at Reine and then looked at Kate. "You can stay with us if you want." he offered.

Kate looked up at him. "Really? You mean it?"

Dax nodded. "Of course. My place is small, but there's room for you and there's food, too."

She brightened up at the mention of food and stepped closer to them. "I'll come."

Reine smiled at Kate, accidentally showing his fangs.

{Where is she going to sleep? And is she afraid of vamps?}

Kate smiled back, showing off her own fangs. "Nice to know I'm not the only Vampire around here." she commented.

{Ahh... she's not the vamp that had Dax sleeping outside, is she?}

Reine blinked in surprise. Then recovering himself, he replied, "I'm only half, actually."

((No, she's not. Though it'd be funny if she was))

"I know," she replied.

Dax smirked slightly and let go of Reine's hand. "You two talk, I have to finish some things." he wandered off to the next newish grave.

{Yeah... it would...}

Reine smiled, following his boyfriend with his eyes. Then, turning back to Kate, he asked, "So... what do you want to talk about?"

Kate shrugged. She glanced at Dax. "Does he always come out here and do this?"

Reine bit his lip in thought, then replied, "I've only known him for just over a week, and he's done this once before."

She nodded. "So he can set the dead at peace? That's an interesting trait."

Reine smiled. "Yup. He's a pretty interesting person."

Kate looked up at him. "So.... you two are going out? Does that mean I'll have to put up with you kissing and doing other things in the same room where I'll be staying?"

{How short is she? Because Reine's only five feet tall...}

Reine blushed. "Yes we're going out, and yeah, we'll be kissing, but I'm not sure about the 'other things'."

((She's eleven, so she'd be about 4'8" ish))

Kate made a face. "I guess I can live with that. At least I know that neither of you will be interested in me."

{Ah... Poor Reine... probably hundreds of years old and barely taller than an eleven year old...}

Reine was still blushing, not knowing what to say.

"Why're you blushing?" she asked.

Reine looked at her. "Because you keep asking questions about me and Dax."

Kate shrugged. "Is it bad that I'm curious?"
