Renku is a Japanese poetry form, with short stanzas; the first one normally contains three lines, the second two lines, the third three, the fourth two and so one. However, it involves two or more people, each writing a stanza at a time, so I figured starting a renku here would produce some...interesting results. Here's an example of a renku, written in 1684; the fourth stanza was written by the creator of the poetry form himself. It's titled, 'A Winter Shower.'

A cloud, trying to enwrap

The moonbeams, momentarily fails -

A winter shower.

Someone walking on icy patches,

Making lightning in the water.

The New Year's hunter,

On his back a quiver

Adorned with ferns.

The northern gate is open

And the beginning of springtime.

Over a fan

That brushes away the horse dung,

A hazy breeze.

The tea master loves

Dandelion flowers on the roadside.

At home the young maiden

Reads an ancient romance

In a lovely pose.

Two decorated lanterns

Competing to reveal the depth of love.
