Topic: Please Read This
Hi everyone. First off, I would like to send you all my greatest apologies for disappearing and abandoning the Revolution. But for a while there my life took a turn towards insanity and I stayed off the internet for a long while.

Anyway, anyone who is still interested in continuing the Revolution, if you’d be kind enough to simply state that you are interested here in this topic. I would just like to know how many people we still have. I know everyone has issues with being able to get on consistently, because we can’t expect that of everyone, but we can still see what we can do.

If we do have enough interested, well then, I’d like to get moderators so this place doesn’t get overcrowded with topics or anything. It was stupid of me not to appoint them much sooner. If anyone would like to be a moderator, would you please say so?

Also, I’ll start to clean up the forum. I don’t know how long it has been since the last Story of the Week or anything, and I assume the list needs to be updated and all that.

And I’d also like to say thank you to Otseis who already helped with the Saving the Revolution topic, and I’m sorry to everyone I didn’t answer in PM’s.

In any case, I’d like to say sorry again and I hope there are still some willing to pull the Revolution to its feet

Hey, sorry about all that lifecrap. It sucks. Anyway, if other people are willing to try to salvage this, I am. I know I quit earlier, but I've still been getting the messages on my email, and if it's possible to save the Revolution, I think it's worth it. Sorry about your sis.

I left earlier because I was sick of the fighting and I was busy. As long as we don't get into any bad fights, I can still stay here. College is another story. I'll try to stay on the Review Revolution, but if I'm too busy I won't be around.

what exactly have we been fighting about...? XD

i would definitely be willing to give it a shot... i'm busy and all, so i might not be around a lot, but i would definitely try. :)

and it's nice to see you back, boss. sorry to hear about... all that stuff... :\

Hey, I'm rather new around here, like Lucien. But, I definately want to see the Revolution back on its feet. (I never really saw it on its feet to begin with) Just let me know what I can do to help.

I'm really glad you guys want to get the Revolution back up.

Currently i'm waiting on replies to my letter. there are still about 34 who haven't, but i think we'll just have to start anyway.

we'll have to set a date for the revival of the Revolution

i was thinking of making all the past stories of the week forums into one forum. as of now the amount we have seems a little...useless, especially seeing as there is a limit of 10 for the number of forums allowed per person.

Looks like all the oldies are still here! YEAH!

*Waves hand* Hi Guys!

One forum for the SotW would be good.

Since we had a problem last time with people not reviewing, does anyone think it would be a good idea to extend the deadlines for the stories? Make it two weeks, or a month? Or is a week good for everybody?

*Playfully punches Freaky*

You stole my idea!

XD

Anyways, like I told Red, those of us with busy schedules i.e: 14 hour days at school five days a week, new stories every week was extremely hard for me to meet, and is part of the reason why I couldn't keep up. Two weeks would be wonderful and those who want something weekly can take part in the Review Game.

The review game is like almost daily if not faster.

Or maybe at least just have the member story a read and a non-member story just in a list of suggestions that people are suggested to look at.

YourRedDoor
that does sound like a good idea...hmm

i was thinking, maybe when the week is over, instead of the story immediately getting thrown into the past story of the weeks, it stays in this forum as Last Week's Story, so if anyone wants to catch up or anything it would be easy to find last week's story.

just an idea as maybe a subsitute for two weeks on a story

*Reels back from Blackeri's playful punch* I've been hit! I'm also a little sugar-high, but who cares?

Yeah, that could work, too, unless someone got really far behind. Then what would we do? That wasn't rhetorical, by the way, I was actually asking.

So I haven't replied in this particular thread, but I'm still here! I too think two weeks would be a good length of time for the story. I mean you're reading two stories and life is always unexpected and I think a story a week (two stories, two weeks) is a good amount of time.

idk if it's late or not, but I would most definitely participate in Revolution.

Okay, so the Revolution will officially start next week (Feb 3). So for a final vote: do you guys want one story per week instead of two per week as it used to be?

Can I join the Revolution?

I'm interested. Keep this going.

P.S do you know where to find a beta with or without the new betareader thing they offer here?

If you're joining the revolution, go over to the "Introduction" thread and, well, introduce myself.

As for myself, I'm going to vote for two weeks.

Heatless Flame, anyone is welcome to join! just go to Introductions to join, it is explained there.

to Katherine, i don't know anyone willing to beta. sorry, keep looking though. which reminds me, does anyone know how to use the new betareader?

Reply to Katherine - sure - go to SKOW Beta Classifieds - some forum in the general section - about 4th page.

Reply to RedDoor - I don't think it works yet. There are still playing with it at the moment.

to concerto49- I know this probably sounds stupid, but where do you go to find the SKOW thing? and what is it? I've heard of it before, but do not know what it is.

Betas are at the beta thing at the top. I am one, by the way, but only for a few things.

(fantasy, action, thriller, sci-fi, and general)

I was just thinking....

If instead of a time limit (i.e. 1 week/story), we had a review limit, (i.e. 10 reviews/story) we might be able to go through the list faster. Like if we get 10 reviews in four days we can move on to the next person and get things done like twice as fast. And we have almost 30 members now, so the probability of getting a certain number of reviews in a shorter time is larger. i wonder...

Honestly in the perfect world that would be great, but I have to say - that will definitely mean people will often just wait for others saying there's bound to be someone doing it so I'll wait for them instead. Since like you said, there's like 30, so if you do 10, most likely it'll always be that 10.

FreakierThanThou
Concon has a point, but I really like Boss's idea. I think we should maybe put a limit on it, like you have to review once a month or something. If you're a little slow, it's fine to go over the limit and go back and review a story. But at the end of the month we check to see who's reviewed and who hasn't, and the people who haven't get told that they have a week (or something) to make up the review with one of the stories. If they don't... dun dun duhhhh! Whatever it was that we used to do to people who didn't review.

What say you to that?
