Topic: The Street

The street outside the Black Dragon Gambling Den. Smells of fish, as a fish market happens to make up the majority of the space in the immediate area. ((And if any character has any reason to, I'm sure they could take the street to wherever they need to))

Jules came up the steps from the Den and out onto the street, just ahead of Zach. Feeling mischevious, she waited till he was nearly at her side, then darted several steps ahead, "Think you can catch me, suga?" she teased.

Zach came out soon after Jules and grinned, "Ye sure ye wan' to try tha' on me, lass? Ye don' know how fas' I migh' be."

He ran at her, still grinning.

Val walked outside, glancing around and taking in the details of his surroundings, and sighing as he watched his cousin make a fool of himself.

Laughing, Jules tried to avoid him, but in another second he was on her. She made to catch his wrist and swing herself into a full kiss on the lips.

Zach eagerly caught her in his arms, kissing her back, seemingly oblivious to everything else around him.

Val stood back, arms crossed over his chest, icy-blue eyes narrowed, on full alert.

Aaron watched them from one of the alleyways, though careful not to be seen. Jules and one of the other ones seemed to be playing, though the one he was most worried about was alert, as if he knows that someone like Aaron might be watching.

She pulled away from his kiss, rather giddy. As a chilly wind swept through the deserted street, she pulled her painted jacket more closely around her. They hadn't chosen a very romantic atmosphere to make out; the fish market was practically dripping in pollution. Empty cans banged and clanged along the asphalt, a sort of smog could be seen drifting about the light posts.

"This place ain't exactly a love boat," Jules commented, taking Zach's arm and leaning her head on his shoulder, "Still. Beats the crowds."

"Quite the set aren't they?" Haveloc commented, standing in the shadows behind Aaron, seemingly entralled with the card in his hand. In the shadows the vampire was nearly impossible to see, nothing more then a siloette in the darkness.

Zach smiled down at her, kissing her forehead lightly, "I could no' agree with ye more, lass."

Val, sensing the presence of other supernaturals such as himself, sent an urgent thought to both Zach and Jules.

-Both of you stay on alert. Keep up with your fun, but don't ignore your surroundings. There are others around here, and not necessarily ones of genteel nature.-

-Of course, cousin.- Zach replied in thought, kissing Jules again, this time on the cheek, -Wha' are ye sensing, Val? My senses are no' as adept as yer's are.-

-One is a Vamp, to be sure, but the source is barely perceivable, almost as if the Vamp's not quite here.- Val paused. -The other one I'm sensing....I'm not quite sure....it somehow seems familiar to me, but I can't place it.- He paused again, -Be sure to relate all I've told you to the woman.-

-Her name is Jules.- Zach said, -And I will, don' ye worry, cousin.-

Zach started walking and, without seeming to, related to Jules by thought everything that his cousin had told him.

-Aye, basically, jus' be careful, ye 'ear?- Zach told her, putting an arm around her shoulders and continuing along the street. He covertly let his free hand wander into his trench coat, double-checking that his sub machine gun was still within reach.

Val followed along behind, at a safe distance, still on the alert for anything out of the ordinary, his senses heightened.

Aaron turned back to look at the guy that had annoyed him earlier, but didn't say anything, because he couldn't. Instead he growled real low, essentially telling him to get the hell away before he takes a bite out of his leg. He turned back to the vampires, and walked forward out into the open, trying to play the part of a wandering dog.

Julianne spotted the stray and pretended to be excited, "Hey there, cutie!" she called to it, as if she loved dogs. In fact, her body was on the very edge of tension. -From what yuh told me, I'm thinkin that dog ain't ordinary?- she thought to Zach, standing closer to him.

Val watched with concealed apprehension as the dog appeared from the shadows.

-That's him Zach- He thought to his cousin -You be careful!-

He glanced at the 'dog' and smiled, showing his fangs, "Nice doggy!"

Aaron saw the tension rise among the group of vampires at the sight of him. 'They obviously now somethings wrong... but that means nothing...' He thought, walking slowly up to Jules.

Hardly daring to stretch out her hand to pet the dog, Julianne only stared back, one hand casually resting on her gun in its belt. Having never been confronted like this before, she didn't know exactly what to do, or what to expect. -God, what the hell is it gonna do!- her mind screamed.

Zach continued to smile down at the 'dog', "Aye, 'e looks 'alf starved!" His eyes suddenly flashed an electric blue, before returning to their normal sapphire colour and he ran his tongue along his fangs, "Ye'll be a nice little doggie, won' ye, lad?"

-God, what the hell is it gonna do!- her mind screamed.

-Nothin', lass!- Zach shot a thought to her mind -'e'll do nothin', unless ye le' 'im! Keep yerself calm. If 'e senses yer fear, we'll all be in danger-

-You keep her from doing anything crazy, Zach- Val thought to his cousin, his gaze fixed on the 'dog' -Keep walking, get away from him-

-Fine, then- Zach replied, thinking to Jules -Keep goin', ac' as if the dog's nothin' special, we need to ge' away from 'im-

-Yeah, k, gotcha- Julianne sent back, and with a tired smile she lazily made to turn around and continue walking down the street, hand in hand with Zach, "Man if we're gonna have some fun tonight, we'd bettuh get on," she commented.

Zach grinned down at her and followed her lead, "Aye, let's ge'."

-We'll keep on pretending tha' nothin' is wrong- Zach thought to both Julianne and Val, and then sent a completely separate thought to Jules, -Val will keep an eye ou' and 'e'll aler' us if there's any problem-

Val followed along behind the other two Vamps, still keeping a wary eye on the 'dog'.

"So how far is this place o' yours anyway?" Julianne asked Zach

"A good fifteen minute's walk, I'd say." He replied, "Once we ge' to the main stree' we can take a taxi if ye'd prefer."

"Zach!" Val's shout echoed throughout the street, and he turned, pulling out both pistols as he did so and immediately firing precise shots at Aaron.

At hearing Val's shout and sensing a strong feeling of evil intent, Zach spun around, pushing Jules behind him, and whipping out his sub machine gun, blasting away at the Were.

"Sh-t!" Julianne swore as the action broke loose. In less than a second she found herself shoved roughly behind Zach, as if she couldn't defend herself, "I ain't your average damsel-in-distress, sucka!" she snapped at her vampire-to-the-rescue. Out came her single-action revolver; the shots could hardly be heard over the rattling machine gun, yet they cracked through the air with sharp distinction as bullets whizzed for the werewolf's throat and face.

"I ain't your average damsel-in-distress, sucka!" she snapped at her vampire-to-the-rescue.

Zach couldn't help but laugh as he heard Jules' comment to him, "I never though' ye were, lass." He told her over the noise of the guns, "It's jus' my nature to protec' the womenfolk."

Val had been counting his bullets as he had been shooting and he knew that he would have to reload, now. Using his thumbs to discharge his exhausted clips, the Vampire brought the butts of his guns to the belts that crisscrossed his chest, automatically popping two full clips in with audible clicks. The entire process had literally taken only as much time as it takes to blink, and these weren't your ordinary gunclips, these were filled with silver bullets.

((Lavie, if this Were isn't dead by now, then he's GOT to be unnatural! I mean, more than he already is of course. =P))

As Aaron took hits he changed agian into an even larger creature, he was now 8' 2" with huge claws extending from his large fur covered hands. He jumped into one of the buildings along the street, smashing the windows and disapearing inside. The pain was barely bearable and it only got worse as he pulled out the rounds one by one. 'Damnit, frackng silver. Why the hell were they carrying that around?'

Julianne couldn't help but scream as the werewolf changed into an even more nightmarish monstrosity and in a shower of window glass disappeared into the building. Shielding her face with one arm from the sharp fragments that rained down, the vampire backed into the shadow of an alleyway. Now she faced the front of the werewolf's shelter, still aiming at it, waiting for any movement.

-Damnit, is THIS your idea of fun?- her thoughts growled at Zach, -I ain't hangin round' you no more if it is!-

Aaron quickly finished pulling the rounds out of his pelt and looked around. The shop was small and most of the room there was, was taken up by freezers, fish tanks, and cutting tables. He walked over to a bare spot of the wall and touched it. It was thin, barely a wall. 'Excellent.' He thought, pulling his fist back to slam it into the wall.

((Wait is he collapsing the building on himself? What good would that do? Oh and...um, is it the healing ability he has that helps him yank bullets out of himself? Last I heard, it takes serious medical surgery to remove ammo from one's body.))

Val started backing up as the Were changed again, but he continued to fire until the beast dove through a window to escape. Glass cascaded down on Val and he barely had enough time to put his arms up to protect his face. Dusting the bits of glass off of him, the Vampire looked at the building that the Were had hidden in, taking in all it's possible entrances and exits that he could see from where he stood. He kept his pistols at the ready, waiting for the Were to show himself.

Zach smiled grimly, wiping the blood off his face from where a piece of glass had cut him. "No, tha' it's no', lass. True, I like a figh' every now an' then, bu' a' the moment I jus' wanna kill the bastard an' go home."

Haveloc was leaning against the wall in the next building over as the werewolf broke through. He was holding a couple cards in his hand, seemingly nonplussed. Nothing but a black figure in the shadows. "I could help you, but then you got yourself into this, didn't you? I warned you."

He found himself in a shop not unlike the one he just left.

"Why do you try so hard?"

Aaron looked to he left to find the annoying man leaning agianst the wall, but didn't respond because he couldn't. Instead he continued on to the next wall.

"I could help you, but then you got yourself into this, didn't you? I warned you."

He stopped and stared back at the man for a second, and growled at him before continuing on.

Zach nodded -To my bar, 'e knows the way as well as I do. I' will only take us a few minutes to ge' there-

Val continued leading them at a steady run for about three more blocks, slowing to a walk once they reached a somewhat populated street.

"You're turn." He called back to Zach, pulling out his cellphone and dialing in a number.

Zach took over leading and crossed the street, listening in on Val's conversation.

"Hello, Arturo, this is Val." pause "No, nothing is wrong." pause "Aturo! Don't assume such things!" laughter could be heard on the other end, while Val rolled his eyes, "Put Darrien on the line. Now!" pause "Dare, I'm with Zach, headed to his bar." pause "I was about to explain. We got attacked by a Hunter, a Werewolf." the sound of raised voices came through the earpiece, causing Val to hold his phone away from his ear "Yes, you can tell Arturo and Caleb that we're both fine." pause "I'll be back home in an hour." pause "Yes, there is, I'll tell you later." pause "Okay, I will." pause "Bye."

Val snapped his phone shut and put it back in his pocket, muttering good-naturedly, "Little brothers...."

Zach smiled to himself, crossing another, busier, street and heading down a very narrow alleyway behind a three story brick building. Stopping in front of a slightly rusty, metal door, he pulled out a key and unlocked it, holding it open for Jules and Val.

"'ere we are."

At the next wall Aaron stopped... the scent was moving away, he transformed back into a wolf and busted out of the building, intent on finding out where they were going so he could attack them later. Following their scent he headed down an alley way, into a somewhat populated area. Down the street he could see them running. 'But where are they going...'

Reks sighed and put his hands in his coat pockets, and looked around. 'Ah the smells of dead fish' he thought. He smiled and shook his head. Making his way down the many streets with no particular destination, his mind began to wonder...

'This whole place is very...different, so many people, in such a small area....'

There was a word on a sign that caught his attention, "Bar"

'Finally' he thought, and moved for the door...

((From the Cafe))

Eva and Bryce walked down the street. Eva walked briskly in her eagerness to get away from the cafe. Bryce, however, strode along still managing to keep up with his sister's fast pace.

"Where are we going?" He asked, looking around at his surroundings and noting the fish stalls that were around.

"Somewhere dark." Eva snapped at him, "Don't bother me with pointless questions."

Bryce frowned at Eva but said nothing. They continued walking for a while longer until Eva stopped in front of a set of stairs that ran down underneath some fish stalls.

Bryce looked around, "What is this place?"

"Valentine was here." Eva closed her eyes and inclined her head ever so slightly. "And so was that idiot Zachariah."

"Are they still here?"

"No." She opened her eyes, her gaze darting around at all the stalls, "They left about three hours ago."

"Where to?"

She glared at him, "I'm not all-knowing, let's get inside and get some information."

Bryce shrugged, "Ladies first."

She smiled sweetly at him and went down the stairs. He looked around the street one last time, shivered slightly and followed her.

Aaron and his group were wall disappointed when the explosion didn't come. "Looks like we need to set the time for a lot less next time."

They all nodded in return before disappearing into the shadows.

As she left the Den, Eva checked the postings outside the door, one stood out to her above all the others. She'd have to look into it later. She turned and walked rapidly off in the direction of the main street.

Bryce silently followed his sister down the smelly street, hardly daring to ask the question that had been plaguing him. "Did you find him?"

"Of course I did." Eva snapped at him, "I know his precise location. I must admit, though, he was a hell of alot harder to break than I had originally thought."

They came to a stop across the street from the Night Bar. Eva stood there, staring at it, her arms folded across her chest, thinking about all her possibilities.

"We need to gather our forces." She said at last, "We have all our wonderful relatives trapped here. Now is the time to crush them!"

As Aaron walked down the street back towards the vampire hideout, he pulled out a small headseat and put it on. "Everyone ready?"

They each in turn said "Yes."

"Good, now all we must do is wait for them to come out and play." He grinned before pulling an MN-23 he borrowed from Chelsea.

((HEHEHE!!! he will never give up!!! and whats even better is that Eva is coming too!!! such perfect timing!!))

((Okay, so this should have been posted before almost all of the recent postings in the Bar.....but oh well, it's here now))

"You go get some reinforcements." Eva commanded her brother, "I will leave it up to you to find good ones. I have an errand to run. Meet me back here in half an hour."

Without waiting for a reply, she turned and dashed off down the street, leaving Bryce to decide what to do next. He shrugged and started walking absently down the sidewalk, pulling out his cellphone and dialing in a number.

((LAVIE! I want him to run into your Weres. How could we arrange that?))

As Eva ran along the busy city streets she pictured one of the posters in her mind. It was him. She had finally found the man whom she had been searching for for so very long. Her phone suddenly rang and she pulled it out, while still running.

"Yes?"

'Eva...' A female voice on the other end whispered her name, voice shaking, 'Opal and Katherine...' The woman burst into tears.

"Selene! What happened?"

'They're both DEAD!' Selene Bluddswirth sobbed into the phone, 'The mansion blew up!'

Eva stopped in her tracks, barely able to control her rage, "What....did you just say?"

'The mansion blew up, completely exploded, and Opal and Katherine were the only ones inside.'

"How?"

'No one knows. What are we going to do?'

"Get Lily and Elanor, tell them to help you round up our cousins and head for the Night bar." Eva gave her sister the address, "Meet me there in half an hour."

'Okay.' sob 'I will.'

Eva snapped her phone shut and slid it back into the small handbag that she always carried with her. "Dammit!" She muttered under her breath as she continued running. Soon she reached a nicer, more expensive part of town and she slowed to a fast walk, looking around her and trying to find the right building. There. She approached a tall, regal looking building and looked for an entrance. Finding a door she went inside and searched for someone to talk to.

Bryce walked down the streets, rather bored. He had called everyone he could think of, but Eva would still want more. Sighing, he looked around and stopped dead in his tracks at the sight in front of him. What was a man with a gun doing hanging around the area of the Night Bar? Unless....Bryce couldn't help but smile. This was just too perfect. He headed in the direction of the man, hoping he would be willing to listen to what Bryce had to say.

"Hey!" Bryce called out to the man as he neared, "Can I talk to you for a moment?"
