I'm in Graphic Arts, again. Bleh. I wish I could be doing my current events for my Government class, but no. Instead I'm making this retarded calendar. -_-

Normally I'd blow off the calendar to do the current events, but I'm failing. Badly. The teacher hates me.

There's a big list of stuff, but right now I'm working on a literary analysis of "The Wasp Factory" and have no idea what I'm doing because I've never written a literary analysis before. :D

xD If anyone's bored or if anyone knows what the hell I should be doing for this...you can read what I have so far...!!!

There comes a time in everyone’s life when they realize that things change, and it doesn’t matter if the change is for the better or for the worse. It can’t be undone. The Wasp Factory’s Frank Cauldhame faces this fact when suddenly his whole life gets turned upside down.

The book starts with a vague announcement that Frank’s brother has escaped from somewhere. “I had been making the rounds of the Sacrifice Poles the day we heard my brother had escaped.” (7) While the reader doesn’t know what’s going on just yet, it’s clear that it’s a big deal for Frank and his father. Upon prodding his father for information, Frank learns that his older brother Eric has escaped from an insane asylum that’s been keeping him for the past several years.

This brings about the first sudden change in Frank’s life. He goes from being relatively carefree to worrying about what this information about his brother means to him. After some violent trouble Eric caused when he still lived at home, Frank’s aware that the neighbors on the mainland won’t be thrilled to learn of his brother’s flight. Remembering what happened in the past fills Frank with trepidation, but there’s still a part of him that’s excited to learn that his brother might have broken out to come back home, giving Frank a chance to see him again.

lol I think you`re doing fine, especially at the begining. If I guess what you`re talking about correctly, that`s exactly what you should be doing. Finding hidden meanings in stuff . Or what the author supposedly tried to say. I used to fight with my teachers about this kind of assigments XD

Heh. Literary analysis. Ah, AP English, how I hated it. (Taking English online is much, much better)

Um, if I remember correctly you're supposed to analyze how the author uses symbolism, tone, sentence length, etc in their writing and what the final effect is. Basically...syntax/diction. (ie The author uses alternating sentence lengths to draw attention to .) From what I read of yours, you seem to be summarizing, which is what you want to avoid. Generally, when writing a literary analysis you assume that the reader has already read the work you are analyzing.

D: The only thing I can find about it tells me I should be writing about a theme or the main ideas the author wants to say and what not...and I picked change out of it. I know I'm not supposed to summarize but you're right. That's all I have. Shit. -_-

I don't know what to write. I was going to do a thing to say that violence in videogames isn't bad, but I don't feel like looking up statistics and what not and attempting to sound smart.

I hate english class. We're researching every damn god and goddess possible in greek mythology. "Look for the clues and you'll be sure to find them," says my evil English teacher.

I wrote a paper on video game violence for my Current Public Issues class last semester. All I did was complain about how much bullshit it was and how people needed to get over themselves and stop blaming their problems on other things.

Mythology isn't too bad, it's just that my dang teacher wants every dang detail possible and I found this amazingly funny thing while searching for the goddess of Love...it was one of the search results.

It made me laugh so hard. And yeah if you keep going on like that with your paper it should work. If you need any help with it later on let me know.
