Topic: Question...
I was thinking about posting another story. It has all pairings andit's a fantasy type of story but has my usual dark-theme. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading it.

I've finished writing a short story of mine and I have time to write on this one with regular updates.

Its rather complicated to explain so I'll try my best in this post.

SUMMARY OF SORTS

A set of twins is given a mirror as a momento by their dying mother but they are told never to look into it, for it would suck them inside of it. While their best friend was over, they discussed the topic of the mirror. The twins tried to tell their friend not to look into it but later when she was left alone, the friend gazed into it and was pulled in.

Upon hearing her scream the twins rush in to try and save her but its too late. She'd already fallen prey to the mirror's curse and was sucked into it. A few days later, after finding no possible way to get her back, they too look in the mirror and end up falling from the sky.

All three of them ended up in a war between Elves, Humans and Angels to find the very mirror that had sucked them into it. One twin ends up with the Dark Angels, one with Dark Elves and the other with the humans. All sides seek the mirror and its powers.

Having no other option but to work with the people that they have landed by, the girls work with their respected side and find out the reasoning that they all want the mirror while trying to find each other in the process.

Does it sound like anything anyone would want to read?

I admit, Melissa, it does sound interesting. I'd definitely give it a look (and review, if I could manage the time). The aspect that I like about it so far is the potential for character development with the main characters placed within the different factions. Becoming ideological and driven to aid those around you because of how you interpret their views and match them with your own is an excellent tactic to reveal the inner workings of your three hapless mirror abductees. It does make you wonder, just how different will they be when they finally manage to find each other again?

I'd definitely have to say it has the same amount of potential as anything else that you have written (sorry about not reviewing and critiquing, but I've been incredibly busy lately). So go for it!

I'm not quite sure. Part of me is saying, "Oh lord, elves and angel again. Pointy ears and feathery wings shall reign forever and ever." On the other hand, if I look past that, I think this could be very interesting. I'm an open-minded guy, so I would give it a shot and see how I felt about it as it progressed.

Good luck with it.

No wonder my fantasy prose 'Bloodfest' doesn't have elves and angel, nor does it have dragons, nor does it have magic, nor does it have... you get my drift, but it does have medieval 17-18th century timing :P. But in any case, I'll still have a look-see on the prose, and then evaluate whether I'll continue reading it or not. At its current stage, I can't determine it just yet. I'll stick around and see how it goes.

Um...How to think about negative opinions already from some of the people who actually read my works...

I suppose all I can do is try to change your minds, lol. Anyone whose read my works and is an avid reader knows that I don't do 'happy elves and angels dance in fairy rings' crap.

Also, to clear things up, my elves are not based on the typical good and fairytalistic elves. They are actually based on Scandanavian and Norse versions of elves that not many know about.

I don't usually do 'happy cliche' with romance filled to my eyes' fiction. I like the dark opus actually.

My angels and elves are not the typical ones (if you've read Sacrifice, then you know this is true because my two angels there are anything but typical)

I guess the only way I can really persuade anyone is to just tell them to read it and hope that I can change a few minds.

The Prolouge is up and I'll have chapter 1 up by the end of the week.

*sighs* Now, it's back to my pile of pending updates...*stares at a stack of 6 chapters that are all unfinnished and need desperately to be updated.

@_@ An author's work is never done.

Well, Melissa, I think senior citizens (2002? Yikes!) like yourself should always get the benefit of the doubt. So I have no problems believing you'll do just fine. I'll be happy to read chapter 1, if I have the time.

Dark romance? I just wrote a romantic short story that's fairly dark. All though, it's meant to be more artistic than anything. It's pretty straight forward in a backwards way.

And my goodness, I agree with you. An author's work never ends. You write more than I do, it seems. I do it at night mostly, when I'm supposed to be sleeping. How do you find time?

Oo; Oh my God. I didn't realize that I'd been here THAT long! I feel so old now! Not many people stick to this site for that long. What is it? Seven years?

If you want to check it out, I've been updating on it every week. I've got two chapters up so far.

I'm bogged down with 9 stories at the moment. (two I re-write for a friend since she has no computer. She gives me a play-like script and I make from it what I can.)

Seven projects are mine. One is a collab and one is a friend's. I'm just glad that she doesn't ask me to update often. *SilverIsamu is God-like for that*

My normal chapter is 15+ pages and with seven stories and at least 4 being updated a week is enough for me at the moment. I don't have time for writing or beta-reading anyone's stuff.

That and I'm editing my own works. I'm so behind with work and the past two weeks I've had two jobs >< Glad that's over. I've had a few authors call me the busiest author on FictionPress. It might not be true but I work damn hard @_@

*goes off to write on three stories (Sacrifice, Fractured Reflections and Tragic Play X) that are due for updates this week*

Usually when it comes to creating stories, I tend to follow the flow instead of forcing myself to release a chapter at a stipulated time frame. I've done that before, and it didn't go too well. Often I end up making ridiculous plots and even just one too many filler chapters to keep the story going. That's why I take my time when it comes to writing, though I do take note to at least release a chapter per month.

As for me, I might be concentrating on my fantasy prose first then back to my old rusty Tokyo Battalions. It's screaming 'UPDATE ME' right now...

And anyway, I think I might want to let go one of my stories, since I really can't push it further into the plot. Anyone interested? Of course, it's fantasy, with a twist of Pirates Of The Caribbean.
