In order to create a bit of a fun, we here on RG proudly present: The Review Marathon! (Idea created by Narc) So, what is this, you ask? Well, basically, for one weekend all who participate in this competition go out on FictionPress and review as much as they can! When the weekend is over, everyone's given reviews will be counted into a total sum, and the three that gave the most reviews wins. And what does one win? Well, it is to be mass-reviewed back by the other participants! RM history 2008: January: A total of 291 reviews from 9 active participants. Winner (Imalefty) did 57 reviews. February: A total of 523 reviews from 11 active participants. Winner (simpleplan13) did 114 reviews. March: A total of 701 reviews from 15 active participants. Number one winner (simpleplan13) did 201 reviews. April: A total of 679 reviews from 16 active participants. Number one winner (One-Hand Clap) did 208 reviews. May: A total of 910 reviews from 10 active participants. Number one winner (simpleplan13) did 248 reviews. June: A total of 294 reviews from 7 active participants. Number one winner (simpleplan13) did 122 reviews. July: Let's find out! Current legend: simpleplan13 with her gigantic 248 reviews. There's just no stopping this young woman! She has retinas of steel, I tell you. Competition date: 19-20th July. Registration posts are accepted from 12th of July and forward. Time-zone is FP's standard time: GMT -8. For an online time clock, go to this address: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/pacific-time/ Please do not ignore reading, as this is vital information, and ignoring it will perhaps result in somewhat tragic results (no, I am not threatening you!). --- RULES FOR THE REVIEW MARATHON --- (Please be aware that a lot of changes and additions have been made! So it's best if you read it again) Basic: 1) You are not allowed to review your fellow participants in order to increase your point count. You are also not allowed to count in the reviews given for the Review Game or any other review exchanging services/agreements. After the RM is over, you can review whomever you want, though. 2) 1 review (on a poem, a chapter of a story, or a whole story) = 1 point. Participant with most points will win. 3) Everyone who reviews will keep a total point count at the end of their post. 4) Users are also not allowed to change their usernames before they have reviewed the winner and their duty is over as it might confuse people. 5) The time-zone the RM goes by is FP's standard time: GMT -8. Registration post: 6) In order to participate, register. You register by making a registration post in this topic, stating you wish to participate. This is preferably done by the day before the marathon, but we allow registration posts during the game as well. 7) You must state in your registration post that you are fully committed to reviewing the winners once they have been declared. 8) In your registration post, add links to all stories/poems/chapters that you review throughout the weekend. Instructions for editing posts are below. Please, after having reviewed a story, edit it in your post as soon as you can and keep a count in your post! 9) If you register for the RM and do not participate, but illustrate you could have by posting in another RG topic, you are required to give the winners two times the normal reviews required. This is not for cases when the participant got sick or weren't able to do this for other reasons. It's reserved for blatant disrespect. 10) You can prior to when the RM starts take back your registration. When you withdraw the registration, you will have no obligations. Reviews: 11) All reviews given in the name of the RM must fulfill a minimum standard, otherwise the participant won't get any point for it! The requirement is according to the Easy Fix Review Game, which is: "You need to state one thing you liked and why, and one thing you didn't like/could be improved, and why. If you absolutely can only find good or less good things to say, then please state two things you liked and why, or two things you didn't like and why. The review will be seen as invalid otherwise." This also applies to the review(s) you give to the winners. 12) "Copy and paste" reviews will not be counted. 13) When you make a review, mention The Review Game's Review Marathon and reference the link that you are required to put in your profile. Exception to this rule: If you review a multi-chap, and more than two chapters, you only need to have the advertisement tag in your first and last review for that story. 14) Link to the Review Game in your profile, while mentioning the Review Marathon belongs to it. No linking to The Review Marathon is required. Only linking you need to do is to the Review Game. But both must be mentioned. Winners: 15) We will have three winners for the RM, and three winners only. Ties in the third place position are not allowed. So as you review, keep a point count at the end of your post so people can see if they are tying with you. If there is a tie for the third slot, we will eliminate by deciding who gave the best reviews (quality). 16) Participants must review the winners and state that their review is their RM prize review. They must review the winners within two weeks. If not, they will face the consequences. A participant is required to review unless they withdrew their registration before the start of the competition. 17) The three winners get a prize. Number One winner gets two reviews from all participants, and doesn't have to review the other winners. Number Two and Three get one review each from all participants, except the Number One winner. 18) If you are unable to review the three winners within two weeks, you may request a one-week extension (or more if needed). Reasons for this must hold valid, though. --- TECHNICAL --- - Wondering how to edit a post? Beside the button that says "Reply" in a person's post, there is a "Mod" button. Click on it. A small menu-bar will appear. Click on "Edit". Edit in the story/poem/chapters you review, give a link, and submit. - How do you link to a story or author in your post? I shall use Narc's story "Roanoke" as example. Look at the reply window. It has a small menu bar. First you need to type the story title (ie, Roanoke). Then you select that. The previously untouchable button on the right of the scroll bar in the menu is now activated. Click on it. A small window will pop up. Copy and paste the web address to the story or author in question. Type in title. Click "Insert" and you're all done! Example: Roanoke However, some people cannot use this method as the pop-up window won't show. This is an alternate method, thought up by Silv3rdr34ms. This will be done in your reply window: (& l t ;)a href="http://www.fictionpress.com/~silv3rdr34ms"(& g t ;)Silv3rdr34ms' Profile(& l t ;)/a(& g t ;) 1. Take away the parenthesis () 2. Take away the spaces of what was inside the parenthesis. 3. Click "Site Preview". This will make the link activate. Close it when it's done loading. 4. You should have a working link when you post. But if this is too complicated, just copy and paste the web address. - Wondering how you link to the forum in your profile? 0. Open your profile editor ("Log in" - "Profile/Bio") 1. Write the word that you want to be clickable. In my profile, I used Review Marathon. 2. Select those two words 3. Click the icon on your editor's menu bar that has a green circle. It is named "Insert/Edit a hyperlink" and comes after the horizontal line. 4. Copy the address for the forum topic in where the "Address" goes. On the line under, write "Review Marathon" 5. Click Ok 6. Click "Save changes" --- EXAMPLE OF IDEAL POST --- " I, Fractured Illusion, hereby register for participation on the holy day of Sunday the 27th January for the very much anticipated Review Marathon. I am fully committed to reviewing the winners once declared! EDIT: List of points: Roanoke, by Narc I reviewed chapter 1 to 14. Count: 14" --- SUGGESTIONS FOR YOUR REVIEW --- We all know the actual review needs to fill up to minimum requirement, see rule 3. But it also needs to have that advertisement in it mentioned in rule 8. But the ad is not to be too excessive. Only requirement is to mention the Review Marathon and say that you have a link for it in your profile (and actually have it, too). Examples: 1. "It's the day of the Review Marathon! Woot! (link in my profile)" 2. "- Frac, from the Review Marathon (link in my profile)" 3. "PS! If your bored check out the Review Game's Review Marathon (links in my profile)" When reviewing the winner, you can mention it this way: 1. "Congrats, winner of the Review Marathon! Here is your prize!" --- THE REVIEW'S CONTENT --- I have noticed lots of people haven't appeared to understand the requirement of mentioning a like and dislike, and a why attached to both, let me illustrate with this example: Ie 1: "I like it... it was beautiful" Here is what they liked (the piece) and why (it was beautiful) Ie 2: "It was beautiful" Here is something they liked (the beauty), but no why. Ie 3: "It was beautiful, because your imagery came to life within so few words" Here is something they liked (the beauty) and why (due to the imagery) See how I see the differences? You need to be clear and precise in your reviews to meet the requirements. You need to state a clear like and dislike, and a clear (and separate!) why to both. Like + why cannot be the same thing! Therefore, only example 1 and 3 would pass. But example 3 has the most quality in it. In ties, it is quality we will go for. --- PROBLEMS? QUESTIONS? --- Go to the "Problems/Questions about the RG" topic. This topic is to be "clean", which means only registration posts until I say otherwise. --- SUMMARY --- Here is a basic run-down of the RM. Read rules for more. 1. You register with a post. It must also be written that you intend to review the winners. As long as you don't withdraw the registration before RM weekend starts, you will have to review the winners when they are made official 2. Participants can review anyone they want on this site for RM, as long as it is not: a) a fellow participant b) themselves 3. One review will count as one point. For a review to be counted as a point, it has to fulfill these requirements: a) It must be according to Easy Fix standard at a minimum: One like + why, and a dislike/could be improved + why b) It must have an RM tag: Mention the Review Marathon and that you have a link in your profile 4. Participants must have a link on their profile to the Review Game forum, while the RM is mentioned alongside it. 5. When winners are announced, the participants have a 2 week period to review them. More so if requested. --- EXAMINATORS --- Of course, for this to be done, we need people to be examinators. Examinators make sure the winners' reviews are legit before they are announced to be given the prize. You can be both a participant and an examinator, or only one of them, or neither. To be an examinator, you need to go to the Suggestion topic, and suggest yourself for the job. Please do so! It would be nice to have help. I'd like to keep the maximum at 5. Please, do not sign up for being one if you can't do it. Being an examinator, it is required that you straight away after the RM is over, go over the reviews of the three people with most reviews. We require efficiency and haste. If you do not feel you can live up to this, I'd rather you don't be one. --- LIST OF EXAMINATORS --- 1. Fractured Illusion 2. simpleplan13 3. ohthevoices --- LIST OF PARTICIPANTS --- 1. Caecilia 2. vinny2 3. FirstBloom13 4. Life Is Grammar 5. Anya Mabell 6. Lorki 7. inkspatters 8. dragonflydreamyr 9. simpleplan13 10. Sercus Kaynine 11. My Atomic Garden 12. Midnight In Eden 13. Kikyuu - withdrew registration 14. ohthevoices 15. Addyson --- THE END! --- --- NOW REGISTER, DAMMIT! :D ---

I, Kikyuu, do solemnly swear to participate in the RM of July 19-20 and to review the winners of the aforementioned RM. Should be interesting! Edit: Sorry Frac, but it seems like I'm going to need to withdraw from this month's RM. Just had a whole load of work dumped on me this past week and other commitments are getting me down. Maybe next time.

--- NOTICE! --- Okay, since some people seems to have got Rule 13 confused... When you review multi-chaptered stories, the RM Tag needs to have the same content (though not be worded the same if you don't want to). Alas: it needs to mention RM and mention the link in your profile. Even in the last review. If you forgot this, you can PM the author about this. PM during RM weekend otherwise it won't count. Then state you PMed in your list. If you want to change this rule, you are all happy to suggest this in the Suggestions topic. For now this will do, though. ^^; --- END OF NOTICE ---

Aaaand, drumroll please!, RM July is over! :D Since two hours ago, but hey, I was sleeping, leave me be. I can't announce these things so easily then :o Just want to say thanks to everyone that participated! Being stuffed in front of a computer on the weekend is not everyone's favorite pasttime, but I am positive you've all brightened several people's day with your reviews. Go you! The results of who won will be announced before Saturday. Awesome work, guys! :D To examinators: Since we have a newbie-examinator, I suggested to her(him?) that we take one of the "winners" each to check the reviews from. I first suggested that she takes number three but now I see that she IS number three O_O Okay, ohthevoices takes number 2 (mini) I take number 1 (my atomic garden) And mini takes nr 3 (ohthevoices) as your prime target. Then comment on the reviews respective examinator finds faulty (and make a post about the reviews you found faulty) Happy to have you aboard, ohthevoices :D

16? I'm still couting 15, even in my review history. EDIT: Oh, I think you're counting the review on ch. 6 of Number. That was from the Review Game Stories EF. Sorry for the confusion.

Count Caecilia-13 pts vinny2-14 pts Anya Mabell- 11 pts Lorki-19 pts Inkspatters- 41 pts -1= 40 pts (neverending dream and spirit saver no longer exists, but I believe you) (cloud brother however has no reviews, but the link is to part 1, not 2 I don't think you can delete a review on a story that still exists, so I don't think that one should count -1) dragonflydreamer- 15 pts (b/c of of their statement about the 16th review) Midnight in Eden 1 pt Addyson 14 Pts Total 127 I did the top three as well just a count, not looking the content of the reviews simpleplan13- 252 pts (EDIT: I FIXED THESE TWO LINES...There are 2 w/o links that I will try to fix -0) (a murder in haiku I didn't number the chapters, but it was 11 & when I counted 135 to 144 I only got 10, +1) (EDIT: THIS WAS ONLY 4 REVIEWS tea leaves in china was 5 reviews, but I only counted 4,+0) (EDIT: I REVIEWED ONE LESS CH OF RYAN'S COLLECTION THAN I PRECIOUSLY CLAIMED, -1) My Atomic Garden- 258 -5 +11 is 264 pts (29-33. Yes, I'm a girl ;-) I was wondering what would happen if they deleted those...because my comments on all of those were...less than good. -coughs- I'm going through simpleplan13's reviews at the moment, and will check back in when I have numbers. Edit: -simpleplan13: 252 - 2 = 250 -missing like/dislike and why: Say What? Ch1 (-0) Okay, I thought it would be a dislike, but they there was no explanation...though I'm not sure how you'd explain grammar issues except to say that they're incorrect. Family Jewel (-0) my room (-0) Wishes (-0) I overthink things sometimes. I've been taught to use specific examples and then elaborate...so I might've just been overthinking here. Raindrops (-0) -missing a why: It's Everyone's Fault (-0) I read the abstractness and the powerfulness as going together, since it didn't seem to be differentiated at all. Then I read the next like as the comment about the little boy, which lacked an explanation. This might be disregarded if the grammar rule holds, though. -only found reviews on Ch 1-4 on Tea Leaves and China Ink; Ch 2-4 on Ryan Collection (-2) -missing links: melancholy; Red Rainstorm (-0) - I did manage to locate these, and the reviews were legit -everyone else: I came up with the same numbers.
|
|||
My Defense Say What? As a new examinator you have no way of knowing that grammar/spelling mistakes count as a dislike and why... at least I'm pretty sure Family Jewel Again, a grammar thing. My Room Again, lots of grammar here. Wishes I think we said that pointing a specific example (like I did with the second line) works as a why for something (my like of descriptions), though I might be wrong. Then the ending because it's bittersweet. Raindrops I dislike the capitalization because I don't see why they did it. I liked the personification because it was interesting and atypical. I liked the descriptions because they were unique and well thought out. Everyone's Fault Lots of grammar. Also I liked the ending because it was powerful. I thought the piece was well done (a like) because it made a great point in abstract way. Tea Leaves You're right my bad. I take the point detraction. Ryan You are right as well, sorry. Again I take the point detraction.

ohthevoices examination 90 pts -5 possible pts = 85 pts (duh! Thanks!) A Series Of Fabricated Accounts (possible -1 pt) -ch 4: I think an attempt to PM counts for me -ch 2: I see the tense thing, but I don't see another like/dislike and why (I see what you;re saying, but I still read it more as a commentary than a like) The Awakening (-0 possible pts) -Does not exist, but I trust you I've Never Had a Dream (-0 possible pt) -I see the dislike as the rhythm, but I don't see a why. (It's ok... I see what you're saying.) The Moon Watches Us (-0 possible point) -Is the dislike the random descriptions? I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.. lol. (I see that.. is fine) Still Falling (-1 possible point) -I see the like as the relate to and I See the why, but I'm not sure what the second like and why is. (I see this as too confusing for the author to figure out if it was a like or a dislike and it seemed kind of like it was about your life more than the story if that makes sense) A Never Ending Dream (-0 possible points) -Story doesn't exist, but I trust you Untitled (-1 possible point) -I don't see the why for the like about the haunting Burning Love (-1 possible point) -Is it ok for the second like/dislike to be unclear like that? I'm not sure Heartbreak (-0 possible points) -Story does not exist, but I believe you. Paperhearts (-0 possible point) -Ch 3: I'm confused is the first part a like or a dislike? (Ok I see how it is a like, I just wasn't sure) bloodblind in love (-0 possible points) -Does not exist, but I believe you Children of the Midnight Sun (-0 possible points) -Does not exist, but I believe you Steady (-0 possible points) -I only see the only see the only like as the fact that it wasn't an emo poem with the twist. I'm not sure what the other like/dislike it (ok I see that) When in Ogunquit (-1 possible point) -The only like I see is Ryan's sense of the humor. The rest just seems like whys and examples to me. (I would accept that as a like, but you didn't really say why either.. so yea) Possible point deduction: 5 pts
|

My Atomic Garden's Examination Write Me Off(-1 possible point) -I couldn't tell what the why was for the like about getting their point across Six Feet Under (-1 possible point) -I see the like and why, but I don't see the why (or an example) for the dislike of bumpy lines. Respect (-1 possible point) -I see the dislike and why and I see two more likes, but no whys for them. Suicide Note (-1 possible point) -I see the dislike as the flow b/c they have done better, and the like as talking to someone, but I didn't see a why for that like. Master's Call (-1 possible point) -Again I'm confused here as to the likes and whys. Across Your Arm (-1 possible pt) -This review confused me, I think because of hte she, then he then it, could you please point out the 2 likes/dislikes and why please? In Bed (-1 possible point) -I see one liek as the descriptions and the why because it reminds you. I see the other like as the bed description and very easy to relate, but I don't see whys for either. razor's Edge(-1 possible point) -I don't see a review here. Intoxicated Soul (-1 possible point) -I see the one like and why are the rhyme thing, but besides that I see two likes, neither with a why. Conversations With The Rain (-1 possible point) -I see that you liked the piece b/c it was beautiful. Then I see other likes, but no whys. Haiku'ing (-2 possible points) -Ch 5: I see the first sentence as a like and why, but I don't see a why for the second sentence, -ch 4: I don't see a why for a like of the flow. Groupings (-9 possible points) -Ch 7: I see the like as so much in so little words because your jealous. I see another like as the flow, but no why. -Ch 16: I see the second sentence as a like and why, but the first sentence, to me is just a like without a why. -Ch 19: I see likes, but no whys -Ch 23: Again I see likes, but no whys -Ch 25: I see one like and why, and then two likes with no whys. -Ch 27: I see one like and why, then another like, no why. -Ch 28: I do not see a why for the like. -Ch 31: I don't see a why for the second like. -Ch 37: I don't see a why for the like or the dislike. Life In General or 347 (-4 possible points) -Ch 4: You have a like connected with a dislike twice, but I didn't see any whys. -Ch 6: I only see that you like the piece & two whys -Ch 13: I see good work because relateable and the other part just seems like a like with no why. -Ch 14: I see the two likes, but what's the why for the like of the titles. Emotastic (-1 possible point) -Ch 2: I don't see the why to the like of the flow. Angst (-3 possible points) (Frac you noticed the odd chaps but not that the ch 7 review about Spanish was for the angst collection? lol.) -Ch 7: I don's see the why for like of the Spanish language. -Ch 13: Why for both of the likes. -Ch 14: Why for the first like Feel Free to Open My Heart...(-2 possible points) -Ch 3: Your and your dislike are the same... what? Plus I don't see any whys -Ch 6: I only see a why for one like not the other 2 Haiku A Day (-3 Possible Points) -Ch 2: Don't see a why for the first like -Ch 5: I only see one like and why -Ch 8: I guess I read that as a dislike of the first sentence because it could be restructured, but I see your point too... Im awaiting their defense to make up my mind. -Ch 9: I don't see a why for the like Blood (-5 possible points) -Ch 2: I do not see a why for the like -Ch 3: Do not see a why for the first like -Ch 10: I saw it as a dislike for the word choice because it could be improved (the dislike for ch 8 was the same at least to me, but you didn't say anything about that. Maybe explain the difference for me?) -Ch 15: Here too, I though the like was implied as imagery and the because it's creative and accurate. -Ch 16: I took it to mean they liked the powerful emotions because they personally like reading about them. -Ch 22: I only see a why for one like. -Ch 23: I don't see a why for the like -Ch 24: No why for the like Ended with Angst Total: 49 possible pts deducted so far General Comment: You must really like haikus... lol Stopped in Blood.

Shouldn't it be 81 points, if it's 90 - 9? (Not that I'm against more points or anything. ;)) Defense: -A Series of Fabricated Accounts: The other thing was that it reminded me of middle school...though I suppose I was a little vague with that. Do what you will. -I've Never Had A Dream: Wow, totally misread that. The reason the rhythm was the dislike was because it threw me off, making it a little hard to read. -The Moon Watches Us: The random details was a dislike, because it jolted me out of the story. -Still Falling: The (admittedly vague) dislike was that the ending was so bittersweet, because I wish real life had more happy endings. -A Neverending Dream: I think I remember seeing a review on this from inkspatters, if that helps. -Untitled: Oops. Noted. -Burning Love: Being vague is almost as much fun as doing that other thing. ;) I'll leave that up to someone else's discretion. -Paperhearts: That was supposed to be a like. I'll make it more obvious next time. -Steady: The other like was that it was a challenge of sorts, trying to incorporate certain words. I liked the idea. -When in Ogunquit: The other one was the comment about the dad's beard, followed by a sarcastic comment about its relevance. That was supposed to be a like, because I liked the randomness.

Examination of My Atomic Garden: (All point detractions are possible, but I am too lazy to write that out all the time) (When you have read this through, MAG, us examinators would appreciate if you could "defend" (as we so humorously call it) you reviews and tell us if we misinterpreted something and thus made it not count.) - Write Me Off (0 point detraction) Counts! First we have a clear like - because. The other is a like with a because "as if" etc. Because that was her personal reflection on why she liked it. - Six Feet Under (1 point detraction) Clearly lacked a why for the negative remark. Shouldn't count. - Bleed (1 point detraction) Same as above: the positive was explained but the negative lacked a why. - Respect (0 point detraction) Since "well done" was in the same sentence as the "I like the theme", could it be that well done was like, and theme was the because? O_o Yeah I is confused. - Suicide Note (1 point detraction) Yes, I too am unsure about the why's in this. For both of them... - Masters Call (0 point detraction) I identify one like + because for the description (like because she can feel it). But the explaining is given no why. - She's alone (1 point detraction) The negative lacked a why. - Across Your Arms (1 point detraction) I don't see a clear why either. Could you please identify them, My Atomic Garden? - In Bed (0 point detraction) Like: Good descriptions. Why: Reminds her of something-something Like: Description. Why: Easy to relate to. That's how I saw it... - Razor's Edge (0 point detraction) I don't see a review either, but the author could have deleted and re-posted his/her poem. It has happened before. - Intoxicated Soul (1 point detraction) I can't identify a second why. - Dark of the Night (2 point detractions) ch 1 - No why to the dislike. ch 3 - No why to the dislike - Conversations with the rain (1 point detraction) Another why missing. - Haikuing (2 point detracted) ch 4 - Agreed. Lacks a why ch 5 - Agreed. Lacks a why. - Groupings (8 points detracted) ch 7 - I don't get the second sentence. Is there a why? Please explain, My Atomic Garden. ch 16 - Like: heartbroken, Because: it ended well? ch 19 - I see no why either ch 23 - No whys ch 25 - No why for the second sentence. ch 27 - No why for the second sentence ch 28 - No why for the dislike ch 31 - Agreed. No why for the second like ch 37 - Lacks whys - Life, In General or 347 (3 points detracted) ch 4 - I can identify 4 likes/dislikes, but not a single why. ch 6 - No why. Why is it forced? ch 13 - No why for the first sentence ch 14 - Like: the titles, Because: it made her re-read the chapters. Thus it should cout. - Emotastic (1 point detracted) ch 2 - No why for the second like ch 7 - Should count! Like: word "they", Why: conveys insanity. Suggestion: Change title, Why: it puts people off. I think that is legitimate. ch 13 - There is no ch 13 here ch 14 - There is not ch 14 here, Mini. *in creepy voice* There is no spoon! - Angst (3 points detracted) ch 7 - Agreed about the Spanish thing; no why to that. ch 13 - Agreed, no why for either of the likes. ch 14 - Lacks a why for the first sentence - Haiku a Day (2 points detracted)) ch 2 - No why for the first like ch 8 - No why for the dislike (why could it be reconstructed?) - Blood (5 points detracted) ch 10 - No why as to why it could be improved. ch 15 - Lacks a why ch 16 - Lacks a why ch 36 - No why to the suggestion ch 40 - No why to the dislike I counted 43 reviews for Blood, in total, btw. - LoveHateLife Haikus (7 points detracted) ch 3 - No why for the dislike ch 7 - No why for the dislike ch 26 - Lacks a why ch 35 - Lacks whys ch 40 - Lacks whys ch 42 - No why for the dislike ch 52 - No why for the dislike I counted 67 reviews in total Total possible point detraction: 40 Overall: MAG, I think you may have misread the rules or the easy fix requirements or something... O_o It's a shame so many points had to be detracted because of that. Total reviews given, counted by Frac: 265

You want a defense, okay. I would rather just allow you to take the points, but it seems to be a tradition and you did a point-by-point assessment, so who am I to deny you. Some of these are valid, many are just pulled from air: - Six Feet Under I don't think this one should count either, I meant to say that I didn't like the flow because it was bumpy. - Bleed Again, you are right and it should not count. I meant that I didn't like the word choice because it was careless. I did not say this though, so count it off. - Respect The poem is well done because of the theme and flow. - Suicide Note I like the way you speak because it is like nobody's listening. I didn't like the flow because it was not good. (I will agree to this one because the why for the dislike is not mentioned...) - Masters Call I like the expression because it shows that the blade owns you. - She's alone I didn't like the imagery because it was insufficient. I didn't like the punctuation because it was nonexistent. - Across Your Arms I like the use of "she" because it is a good way of showing the habit as powerful and a friend to the character. I didn't like the way some lines were written because they seemed forced. - Razor's Edge I don't know why this did not show up, and I cannot check my history to be sure because it's not in the 200 most recent. I cannot prove that I reviewed this, you can just count it as not done. - Intoxicated Soul I liked the rhymes because they had more than one syllable. - Dark of the Night ch 1 - I don't like the last haiku because it seems forced. ch 3 - I don't like the last two lines because they do not fit the haiku format. - Conversations with the rain I like the poem (the tone of it) because it is both calm and expressive. - Haikuing ch 4 - I like the poem because it made good use of the haiku format. ch 5 - I like the flow of the poem because it is good (okay, you don't have to even pretend to consider that...) - Groupings ch 7 - I like the poem because it said a lot in a few words. ch 16 - I like the emotions because they were heart-broken but ended with hope. ch 19 - I see no why either ch 23 - I like the poem because it made me laugh. I like the use of concept because it was and interesting take on an old concept. ch 25 - I like the poem because of the metaphor and phrasing. ch 27 - I like the poem because it showed a big idea in a small space. ch 28 - I did not like the structure or punctuation because they were sub-par. ch 31 - I didn't like the use of Bell because it was confusing. ch 37 - I liked the tone because it expressed boredom well. I didn't like the overall theme because it lacked general direction. - Life, In General or 347 ch 4 - I do not like the line break because it is unnecessary. I like the poem because the message is good. I do not like the flow because it is choppy. ch 6 - I do not like the last line of the first poem because it is forced because of the wording. ch 13 - I liked the poem because it was built up. I like the ending because it broke that down and turned couch-y. - Emotastic ch 2 - I like the poem because of the flow because it was good. ch 13 - I never said I did chapter 13 ch 14 - I never said I did chapter 14. - Angst ch 7 - I like the poem because it used the Spanish language beautifully. ch 13 - I like the poem because of the phrasing and the meter. I like the poem because of the descriptions. (This one is iffy, I'll admit) ch 14 - I like the words because they fit well. - Haiku a Day ch 2 - I like the voice because it is relaxed and musing. ch 8 - I don't like the first sentence because it was poorly constructed. - Blood ch 10 - I didn't like the word choice because it was not very good. ch 15 - I like the imagery because it is creative and beautiful. ch 16 - I did not like the punctuation because it was poorly done. ch 36 - I did not like the amount of description because it was small. ch 40 - I didn't like the second line because the flow was bad because it was clunky. I counted 43 reviews for Blood - LoveHateLife Haikus ch 3 - I dislike the beginning because it doesn't really flow. ch 7 - I dislike the last line because it lacked creativity. ch 26 - I do not like the structure because it was not very good. ch 35 - I like the poem because it is interesting. I like the poem because it flowed well. I dislike the poem because it lacks substance and depth. ch 40 - I do not like the format because it doesn't make much sense. ch 42 - I don't like the last line because it is grammatically incorrect. ch 52 - I disliked the amount of descriptions because there is too small an amount of descriptions I do know the requirements, one like and why, one dislike and why. I simply have a problem with quality control. Many of these reviews were done in a questionable mental state (reading and reviewing all those poems can do that to you). If I participate in another Review Marathon, I will be more clear. So, that was an hour of my life spent justifying bad reviews... -Peace out.

Response to My Atmoic Garden Well, I don't really like the whole idea of cutting off points from people that tried hard to give the reviews, without them even having a say in the matter ^^; Seems a bit mean. I will only comment on those that changed my opinion to giving 0 detraction. The rest I found the explanation did not cut it. - Respect (0 point detracted) I see what you are saying. - Master's Call (0 point detracted) I understand where you're getting at. - Razor's Edge (0 point detracted) I have a benefit-of-the-doubt policy regarding these things. Alrighty then. This leaves a total of -40 p from what I counted, which means 225 p total. Are there any objections?

I'm ok with that Frac, granted I didn't really finish examinating, but you were doign a throuough job and we basically got about the same amount of points off anyway. BTW It was your first RM, so not realizing what needs a why and what doesn't is totally understandable. I also get that you think maybe we were too critical, but we need a standard for all reviews to be fair. The first time I did an RM I lost TONS of points, but with practice you understand what the examinators are looking for. As for a questionable mental state, trust me I totally get that (I babysat 'til 1:30 am and work up at 9:00 am both days), but again sacrificing quality for quantity is not what we want to happen.
