Hey, I've been where you are now. I can honestly say that--at least for me--college was a lot better.

Well, college is a long way off for me.

In the meantime I suppose I'm stuck staring at the hot blonde and attempting to make friends which, ironically enough, seems to further alienate me.

In junior high and high school I lucked into falling in with the band geeks, so I had a few pretty good friends there.

That's nice. I don't have that luxury.

Right now I only get to talk to my friends via occasional text or maybe a chat on Facebook.

Having a group of best friends isn't a very good idea, though. I became the guy who everybody went to when they wanted their girlfriends to do nasty/strange/illegal stuff but didn't know how to ask. It's pretty sad when that's your main purpose. You don't want something like that.

With a lot of my friends I was the taxi, since I was the only one with a car. They would always call me when they needed to go somewhere.

That's what I mean. You become used eventually. There should only be one best friend in your life.

Oh, those were my friends. My best friends always returned the favor if I needed something. Also, they would spend time with me instead of just talking to me when they wanted something.
