Beathan AinslieNiawag walks into the common room looking around "Any one here?" |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine walked out of the kitchen wearing a short dress with a plunging neckline. "Can I help you?" she asked sweetly. |
Beathan Ainslie" uuuhhh yeah... First where am I? I was following my brother and got lost at night, Ive been traveling all day and just found this place." 'Hmm not bad looking I might like this town'. |
Danielle Thamasa"You're in Tiffin now. Would you like a meal? Something to drink? Or perhaps a room for the night?" |
Beathan Ainslie"Yeah food and drink sounds good, could you tell me some about the area? I've never been completely away form my brother and his group so I would like to go exploring. I might take you up on a room later as well." |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine nodded. She went and got a plate of food and a mug of ale. Setting them down on the table before him, Madelaine smiled. "Well, the Enchanted Forest lies to the North of us at the base of the mountains and the Forbidden Forest lies off to the West. Farm land is on the East end of Tiaffin, and a small road cuts through the plains to the South. Just past them is the Azure Sea." |
Beathan Ainsliestarts eating and makes sure to not talk with mouth full in front of such a nice looking lady. "Why is the forbidden forest forbidden?" 'Hmmm they say no maybe I should check it out' |
Danielle Thamasa"Those who enter the Forbidden Forest never return," Madelaine said timidly. "Unless they find favor with the Queen of the Shadowlands." |
Beathan Ainslie"Oh you mean Morgan, We've met. I think she'll remember me as well." Looks around seeing if anyone else heard 'oops might not be a good thing to admit here.' |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine's eyes widened. "You know the Queen of the Shadowlands?" she asked, astonished. "You must be someone of great importance then." |
Beathan Ainsliestarts laughing loudly with a steely laugh "Hardly, my brother was in the service of our king who was her half brother so our paths bumped because of others" mutters "because of others" |
Danielle Thamasa"Oh," she said. Then she looked at him, confused. "Your king? Who is this king you speak of?" |
Beathan Ainslie"Oh did she not tell you? Then it is not my place to do so. She is above me as well and I am but a overlooked twin to a famous knight" anger flashes through his eyes for a moment but disappears as he takes a swig of ale. |
Danielle Thamasa"I...I have not spoken to the Lady of the Forbidden Forest. Father doesn't let me travel far, especially near the Forest." She looked down at her hands for a moment. "Would...would you like more ale?" |
Beathan Ainslie"depends on the price, I only have some money since I was not trusted to have much for fear I might flee form the side of my brother. Would you like a chance to travel at some other time?" 'Maybe she could come in handy as a bargining chip at some point better not fall for her' |
Danielle Thamasa"I'm sure we could work something out," Madelaine answered. "As for traveling, I wish I could but I fear my father would not allow me to leave. He needs help with the inn." Then again, she did have siblings that helped there as well. |
Beathan Ainslie"well are you the only person here able to help him or can he hire others? I do assume he pays you." Looks around again admireing how clean it is for only two people running the place. |
Danielle ThamasaShe shook her head. "My brothers and sisters help as well. And is not food and a place to stay enough payment?" |
Beathan Ainslie"But shouldn't every father provide that free of charge? Of course I bet you don't get many through here to give you enough profit to get payed do you?" finishes the plate of food. |
Danielle Thamasa"No, not really. It is usually only those traveling south to the Azure Sea or leaving the sea and heading inland that stop here for food, drink, entertainment, and rest." |
Beathan Ainslie" ah ok. Do you have a room I might be able to rent for a low cost or can I speak with your father about a payment plan 'like me letting him keep his life' for while I stay until I can figure out what I was sent here to do since it must be something to help my brother look better." He figits in his chair and fingers the hilt of his sword fondly. |
Danielle ThamasaShe notices his hand practically dancing around his sword but manages to keep her facial features controlled. "I...I could go get my father. I'm certain some arrangement could be made."Then without another word, Madelaine turned and walked briskly back to the kitchen. She found her father preparing dinner for the family. "Father, there is a man out there who wishes to speak to you," she commented, gaze towards the ground. "All right," her father responded gruffly, wiping his hands on a towel and heading out of the kitchen to the main tavern/dining room. "What can I do for you?" |
Beathan AinslieStands to formally great the man and bows without taking his non drawing hand from his sword. "Good sir and I presume owner of this inn, I wish to stay here for a while until I can get my bearings and figure the meaning of me being here. I only have with me what you see and very little money to speak of. I was wondering if there was any service that would allow me to stay at a reduced rate" |
Danielle ThamasaThe innkeeper bowed his head for a brief moment and took the man in. "We could put you in one of our smaller rooms in exchange for some of the heavier lifting jobs that my girls really shouldn't be doing."He turned. "Madelaine, take this man to his room and make sure he gets settled in all right." |
Beathan Ainslie"thank you kind sir I hope to not disappoint" smirks slightly as the inn keep has his head turned toward the door he came from. 'I wonder how much Madelaine wants to travel and what she'd do for it' |
Danielle Thamasa"Yes father," Madelaine answered, gesturing towards the man. "This way," she told him, heading for the stairs. The innkeeper headed back to the kitchen. |
Beathan AinslieNiawag follows her up the stairs silently making sure to not make any noise with his shield or sword in case there is someone else there that hasn't seen him yet. He also keeps his eyes moving and scanning looking for some sort of tell tale sign of his brother or his reason, however his gaze seems to return to the back of Madelaine often. 'I really do wonder what she is capable of' |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine went up another flight of stairs, to the attic. The author would like to remind the readers that the attic holds the 4 by-the-hour rooms. As the man needed the cheapest he could get, he was given a small room...in the attic. Madelaine knocked on the first door on the right gently and when she head no one answer, she grabbed the key ring hooked round her wrist like a bracelet and unlocked the room. "You will be staying in here. I hope you find everything satisfactory." |
Beathan Ainslie" I am sure I will thank you. Before you leave I do have something to ask you. How badly do you want to travel?" Niawag asked in a casual tone while he looked around the small room and propped his shield against a wall. |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine looked down at the ground. "It is something I have dreamed about for years...but as I said, I am needed here, and one's duty to one's family should come first."That was only partly true. Madelaine wanted to go out, to see the world. She had dreamt adventures for most of her life, acting out stories for her younger siblings for years. Sometimes it was only the thought of an adventure that kept her going. |
Beathan AinslieNiawag gently lifts her chin and looks into her eyes with an ernest " I can help you to leave here and adventure even with your siblings if you want. I can maybe even get you in favor with Morgan though I can not promise that. How old are you exactly?" |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine looked at him, blue eyes wide. "Leave Tiffin? M...meet the Lady of the Forest? Surely you jest." She paused for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts. "I...I'm twenty. Why?" |
Beathan Ainslie" I wanted ot know you were old enough to be on your won. I never jest and I have little feeling. I can make you free form this place with a slight quick movement and yes I can have you meet the lady of the forest as you call her." He looked around the room again and fixed her with a stare that said he would do anything if he felt it would do someone good somewhere, or at least the type of good he saw.((good night )) |
Danielle Thamasa"Wh...what kind of slight quick movement?" she asked, slightly wary of him. She knew she could handle her own but he did not look like a man to cross. |
Beathan Ainslie"Looks like but a simple flick of the wrist to most but strange burn marks seem to appear afterward. I am sure your father is a reasonable man that will listen to a well fought argument." His voice sounded as if he spoke of the weather as he continued to look at her with impassive eyes. |
Danielle Thamasa"I...if you are talking about harming my father I would rather you did not." |
Beathan Ainslie" My apologies fair lady, I did not mean to make it seem as if I might harm him. I only will attempt to reason with him in as civilized a way as I can. All I meant to to say was that I can have great influence when needed. Besides who will run this inn if you are gone and he is injured, that starts to defeat the purpose of this whole idea" he patted the sword hanging form his hip. "Besides I only draw this when I have to." |
Danielle Thamasa"Good," Madelaine answered. "For if you harm my father, you shall have to deal with me...and I could make things very difficult for you." |
Beathan Ainslie"I'm sure you could fair one" he replied as he hid his disbelief behind a fake sympathy. |
Danielle ThamasaMadelaine looked down for a moment. "If you should require anything else you may come down to the tavern and one of us shall help you," she said softly, before turning and beginning to walk away. |
Beathan Ainslie"thank you, but I think I will go explore some first and see what I can do to help around here." 'I wonder if I pushed her to hard, no matter she deserves better than this inn.' Niawag Turned to be sure everything was in its place in the room and started to follow her without his shield but always with his sword on his side.| #42 Feb 16th, 1:34pm . Danielle ThamasaMadelaine walked downstairs and immediately went to the kitchen to help with the evening meal. Her father stood behind the bar, serving a few of the villagers. |
Camalot777Merlin walked slowly into the tavern. It had been a long jorney for the old wizard, even with magic. He craved a drink and some breif peace before he got to work. Aproching the bartender, he said, "Fix me a glass or your cheepest and disgusting alchoholic begrave, please. I'm feeling aspecially common today." |
Danielle ThamasaThe innkeeper nodded and gave the old man a glass of alcohol. |
Camalot777Merlin payed Mr. Inkeeper and chucpped the beer faster than you could chat The Charm of Making. Merlin Walked out of the inn.((To Forbidden Forest)) |
Beathan AinslieNiawag walks over to the innkeeper after he serves the last customer " Excuse me sir, but do you have any tasks for me now before I go exploring some" |
Danielle Thamasa"I'll need some wood to be cut sometime but you may go and explore the town for a while, if you wish," the innkeeper answered. |
Beathan Ainslie"I think I'll explore then until your not quite so busy so you may show me were to cut the wood. Oh since your daughter seems to have a large amount of knowledge would you mind allowing her to show me around the town?" |
Danielle ThamasaThe innkeeper looked at him for a moment. "Isabelle," he called. Moments later a younger girl who wasn't nearly as attractive came out."Yes father?" "Show this man around town." "But father, what about the...?" She sighed. "Yes father." Then Madelaine came out. "Go back to the kitchen Belle," she told the younger girl. Then she looked at her father. "I have finished with my work there. I will show our guest around." |
