echonymphTopic: Endless falls Really, it should be called the Beginningless Falls, but Endless Falls was easier to say. In the very center of an ancient ruin of some unknown religion of light, the falls stretches up for as far as the eye can see. In the middle of a plain. There is literally nothing it could be falling from, as seen from the ground. This rich cascade of water drops straight down then vanishes just above a very shallow pool covering the moss-bearing cobbles. It ends as it begins: out of nowhere. The shallow pool is crystal clear, meandering into nothingness as it widens. On nights of a full moon when the Endless Falls seems to be coming from the glowing white orb, it is said one can see visions in the calm, glassy waters. The ruins around them have a Celtic feel, covered with ivy, lichen, and moss. The ancient writings scribed on the stone have all but vanished. In the center of the temple, under a ruined golden dome, sits a large piece of black obsidian in which the same incomprehensible etchings are scored deep into the glass. The last standing room of the structure has not been entered in untold years. The heavy stone door is sealed shut, the walls as unrelenting as when they were built, the bricks mortared together so seamlessly one cannot slip a piece of paper between them. |
kaaDew sat upon the obsidian staring up at the night sky, watching as the moon slowly made it's silent path, observing the world as it slept. She couldn't help but let out a sigh. |
Danielle Thamasa((From Forbidden Forest))Morgan walked over to the falls, barely paying attention to most of what was around her, not even realizing that there was someone else there. Night time had always been comforting to her, something she had embraced, the darkness hiding many things, while keeping others away. |
kaaDew sensed the other presence way before the scent of this other had reached her nose. She made sure that she stayed absolutely still and tried to cover up her energy as best she could. She didn't need anyone finding her tonight, or any other night for that matter. She contimplated killing this other but decided to wait and see if they were hostile. |
Danielle ThamasaMorgan seated herself near the falls and just gazed down at the surface of the water, enjoying the solitude, the darkness, and the wonders of the area. |
kaaDew looked at the woman who had seated herself beside the falls and decided that she wasn't a threat, yet. She would wait until this other woman moved away before she would leave. |
Danielle ThamasaMorgan continued to gaze into the water, her light gray eyes unfocused. "You do not need to hide," she stated calmly. |
kaaDew knew right then and there that she needed to run. So without waiting for any other words, she was off and running towards the Forbidden Forest, not caring where she went as long as she was able to hide. |
Danielle ThamasaMorgan's eyes refocused and she watched the person run off to the Forbidden Forest. She sighed. Some people just never learned. Standing up she followed to the Forbidden Forest, knowing that she could find the person easily once in her home region.((To Forbidden Forest)) |
kaaDew looked up at the water that was falling from the sky. She looked around herself and closed her eyes. Taking in a deep breath she realized that there was another forest near by. She opened her eyes slowly and began heading towards this other forest. ((Enchanted Forest)) |
Scottish Princess((From the Forbidden Forest))Cael trotted his stallion to the falls and dismounted, looking around him at the beauty of the water. |
Danielle ThamasaNascha sat on Cael's shoulder the whole time. |
Scottish PrincessCael sighed. "So what are we going to do, Nascha?" |
Danielle Thamasa-I don't know. I wish I did,- she answered sadly. |
Scottish Princess"Do you think we can get Morgan to help us?" |
Danielle Thamasa-I don't know. She wields magick Cael. I'm unsure that I can trust her. Part of me wants to try but...I just don't know.- |
Scottish Princess"I don't know, either." He sighed again and sat on a boulder on the edge of the falls. |
Danielle ThamasaNascha rubbed her head against his and bit his ear gently. -We will find a way through this.- |
Scottish PrincessCael smiled, despite himself. "That we will, love, I promise." |
Danielle ThamasaNascha gazed down at the water, admiring how the moonlight glinted off the surface. What seemed like a long time before, she had enjoyed just sitting at the falls for hours, relaxing and getting away from the demands the villagers always seemed to have for the BeastTamer. |
Scottish PrincessCael sighed, staring at the water and watching it flow by him so fast as he let his mind wander. He'd always loved water, especially waterfalls, and this one was especially beautiful. He wished that he could just enjoy the night, and the water, without having to worry about what the next day might bring him or that Nascha might give herself up to the man that they had both sworn to hate. |
Danielle Thamasa-What are you thinking about my love?- |
Scottish Princess"Life. And how I want things to go back to the way they were without an evil mage hunting us down." He looked at her, "I want to be able to live peacefully with you." |
Danielle ThamasaNascha sighed. -I know. You must be patient, my love. Someday we will be together and able to leave relatively peaceful lives.- |
Scottish PrincessHe turned very serious. "Nascha, I don't want you to ever think about giving up, you hear? That's my biggest fear and it's something that I have no control over. Please, don't ever, ever think that." |
Danielle Thamasa-Cael...I...I may think it but that doesn't mean I'm going to follow through with those thoughts.- |
Scottish Princess"Fine, you can think it, but please don't ever go through with it. I would die if you did." |
Danielle Thamasa-No!- She glared at him with her big owl eyes. -You are not going to die!- |
Scottish PrincessHe sighed. "Well, I guess that's incentive for you to not give up then." |
Danielle Thamasa-I would die if you were dead! Please don't speak that way.- |
Scottish Princess"Alright, I won't." Cael promised her, looking out over the falls again. |
Danielle ThamasaNascha nuzzled her head against his cheek. -It will be dawn soon.- |
Scottish PrincessHe nodded and whispered, "I know." He looked over at her. "Can I stay with you during the day this time? At least during part of it?" |
Danielle ThamasaNascha hooted.((Sorry, always wanted to write that. lol)) -You can stay with me for some of it. I don't want to risk having Garrick find us together.- |
Scottish Princess((LOLS!))Cael nodded, "I don't want that, either." He sighed and looked at the sky. "We don't have much longer, now. We should head back." He looked back at her, "Unless ou want to make the change here and then you can borrow my clothing until you can get back to the tree." |
Danielle ThamasaShe chuckled. -As nice as that sounds, we should probably go back. Someone could see us here.- |
Scottish PrincessHe smiled, "That's true." He stood from the boulder and walked back over to his horse. |
Danielle ThamasaNascha left her perch on his shoulder. -I'll fly above you.- |
Scottish PrincessCael nodded and mounted his horse. "Alright." He kicked his horse into a trot.((So, straight to the Enchanted forest? or do they have to go through the Forbidden forest again?)) |
Danielle ThamasaNascha flew above him.((To Enchanted Forest.)) |
Scottish Princess((kk)) |
Danielle Thamasa((From the town))Maddie led him to the falls and gestured at them. "Here we are," she commented. |
Beathan Ainslie((from town)) Niawag follows "Wow this place is breath taking Maddie." He just stares for a while at the falls and over to the ruins. |
Danielle Thamasa"Yeah, it is." She looked around. "I bet it looks even better at night...but I'm not allowed outside after dusk." |
Beathan Ainslie"Tell you what Maddie, I'll sneak you out tonight so you can see it. Or rather I will keep your father occupied with some sort of game and you can sneak here. I might come some other night and see it for myself." |
Danielle Thamasa"I...I couldn't sneak out, even if I wanted to. At night father locks me in my room." |
Beathan AinslieIn a sudden out burst "Oh he does? He isn't fit to be called......... . . ." After calming his voice he continued "Sorry but I don't react well to that kind of behavior from anyone, and I know he's your father but I hate seeing so much suffering from those who don't deserve it,(building up temper again) especially when it is brought on by someone who does!" Niawag's hand squeezes the sword grip instinctively. He starts to stare into the water and begins to relax before turning back to Maddie. " I am sorry I will leave you be now, I am sure you want to distance yourself from someone like me." |
Danielle Thamasa"Wait, please don't go," Maddie said softly. "I know my father's methods aren't exactly the best in the realm but I do believe he has reason for it. None of us girls are allowed to leave our rooms while it is dark. My mother disappeared as the sky darkened...perhaps he believes the same will happen again." |
Beathan AinslieHe stops and looks back " I can understand that, but locks are to far. A simple do not go out after dark and a decent explanation should be enough to keep anyone in at night." He turns to face her completely and makes a few steps back but keeps a fair distance still. |
Danielle ThamasaMaddie smirked. "He tried that method years ago but I attempted to sneak out. Locks were the only way he could guarantee that we couldn't leave." |
