"NO! I wanted you to kick his butt." Amber corrected.

"And why, dear sister, would I want to do that?" Ryan asked, leaning on his sword.

"He rendered me speechless." Amber mumbled, shamefacedly.

Ryan started laughing uncontrollably. Coming over to stand beside Ranz, he shook Ranz's hand vigourously. "YOU are my NEW BEST FRIEND!!! No one... EVER, has been able to render my baby sister speechless."

"Amber looks like its two versjus two now, perhaps team dueling." asked Sanguine happily as he took Ambers side.

Ranz.. sort of adapted.. and shook his hand.. "Umm... thanks.. You don't seem so bad yourself..." Considering I just met this guy...

Umm.. you guys left? letting me off? *happy dance* well... I'm only going to wait for so long... it shouldn't take 10min to post.. (unless something interfered.. like a sister for instance.. I have three... :(....XD))

Larkland and John decided to appear at that moment. "The great and mighty Amber rendered... speechless?!" John asked in mock disbelief and mock surprise. Larkland, however was silent.

Ranz stood trying fiercely not to blush at all the attention the guys were giving him.. Last time something like this happened a guy tried to drown me.. that won't happen again

His feet bursting into flame carried him off.. he travelled fast enough so that no one could follow him on foot.. He'd only allow Amber to follw him.. if the others followed.. He'd lose them or dispose of them.. but he would not let history repeat itself... he nearly died that day..

Watching him fly off, Sanguine flew up into the air also and took off after him, confused at why he fled. "Ranz were are you going?" He shouted.

((Wow.. I almost feel lucky if my sisters weren't so... so.... downright nasty. i live with one, one comes to visit once like.. every 2 months.. and the other is in a foster-home. I live with my step-mom (I refer to as mom as respect, my realmom is refered as either Tammy, or Real Mom) and my Dad. Miranda (9yr old, lives with me) is downright nasty. She's threatened to pull down her pants a few times.. in which I promptly retreat to my room, my sanctuary of books, and pens... bear.. pillow bed.. and dresser. ))

"What's the matter?" Amber asked, suddenly appearing in front of him.

((lucky ill trade you, 2 of my sisters live with me and one is living with my uncle currently bvut she is living here more and more and you have no idea .... never ending nightmare))

Ranz stopped abruptly.. "Nothing, move." He was afraid of them... why? they never hurt him... but they might but they haven't.. But they will but... "His mind constantly folded over itself with such... proposterous propositions.. "I-I... I'm... scared..." Why did I just say that..? these people act as though they are my friends but.. They aren't They are.. You barely know them.. So what...

((I'd happily trade my cubicle of a room for whatever you have XD I barely have room for my dresser and bed.. (Which is only a double) I have just enough foot-room to write, using my 6-drawer (2x6, 2 -- 3 rows of 2, or 2 coloumns of 3, whichever way you look at it XD) dresser..))

Amber laid a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Will you tell me why, if I tell you why I'm scared of living?" Amber whispered.

Ranz looked her in the eye... "Can we go somewhere... private?"

((If I suddenly disappear it's cuz dad kicked me off computer (it's past ten I g2g as soon as he notices time..))

Seeing Amber with Ranz, Sanguine flew on while listening through Ambers ears. Landing in a small clearing, Sanguine decided that he would need a new enclave so that his power on this planet was strengthened again.

"Sure. As long as you tell NO ONE about it. Deal?" Amber asked.

Ranz nodded solemnly.. "Secret Safe..." he sighed and began.. "When I was in school.. many of the poeple despised me for my fire oriented fire.. it was my first day.." he looked downwards.. at the ground. "One pretended to be my friend- Fellri Woodcraft.. After a week she tricked me into meeting with a bully.. and a bunch of his friends.. they tried to drown me." he looked back up to her eyes.. "They almost succeeded... except a local farmer found my unconsious body.. and pumped the water out of me.."

Sitting down on the ground, Sanguine concentrated and began pushing energy around him forming another wave of darkness and let it seep into the ground and spread to the tree line and form into a dome as he continued to listen to the conversation.

Ranz told her one of his biggest secrets.. one of his core.. part of his history.. He hoped she wouldn't take it lightly...

Amber led him to the ancient tree by the waterfall. "I'm... so sorry." Sitting down, she began her story.

"Four months ago my uncle kidnapped me. He wanted my father's crown. He also knew that my father knew his responsibility as king, so he knew it'd be a couple of days. So he decided to have some fun. He decided to torture me.

Now my uncle's favorite "toy" as he calls it, is a whip, split into three parts.

Each part has a lead ball that crashes into your ribs, is imbedded with knife shards, and has hooks that latch on to your skin. When you pull the whip away, the hooks tear off pieces of your flesh.

Now my uncle knew I had inherited a "family gene," stubbornness.

He said that when I screamed, it would all stop.

I didn't scream.

I endured seventy-five lashes of that thing.

My uncle was impressed because the most any of his other "guinea pigs" survived was fifteen.

But, the pain just got too overbearing, so I finally broke.

I screamed.

But, he didn't stop. Even when I had screamed myself hoards and could cry no more tears, he didn't stop.

I lost count after ten lashes. At some point I became numb to the pain and he stopped. After that first torture session he cut a lock of my hair and pressed it to my bleeding wounds, and sent it to my father, to let him know he wasn't joking.

The next day was worse. After five lashes, he gave a short break, so that the next five lashes would bring FRESHER pain.

That poison that was in Tyria's wounds, was his concoction. Sanguine knows what happens if you don't remove it.

It eats away your flesh.

Well, after the second torture session, my uncle took that poison and put it on my fresh, tender wounds. The poison ate at my wounds for twenty minutes, before he finally removed it.

He smiled as he listened to my screams.

He starved me, terrorized me, and kept me dehydrated.

I was with that monster a week; before my father came and rescued me; but my uncle escaped.

After that I had nightmares, but they finally went away.

But by then, my shield was up 24/7 and I didn't trust people as easily.

And then... a week ago, he kidnapped me again. He burned me, along with the whip, and the poison. And then... the last thing I remember... is him, plunging a sword into my heart."

Amber avoided Ranz's gaze, as the tears started falling. "They shouldn't have done that. NEVER. No one should be treated that way. And you shouldn't have gone through that, just because... you were different." She added angrily.

((Damn.. dad happened to realize time as I read that... I'm so sorry but.. I'll post tomorrow morning when school library opens... sorry...))

Ranz sighed and nodded... "Everyone is unique, someway, sometimes it's for the better.. sometimes for the worse.. I learned to accept it and move on..."

tears began falling.. "When I went home.. my parents were furious.. step-mother and father. When I woke up the next morning everything was gone... nothing but ash under my bed.." he wiped his tears but couldn't bear to look her in the eye.. "It's all my fault.. I shouldn't have.. done anything.. the guys shouldn't have tried to drown me.." he brought his gaze up to hers.. "And you shouldn't have had to endure such pain.." He had angry tears, and his voice reflected upon cracking anger.. but this time he didn't blow up.. he didn't nova... he just stared into Amber's eyes.. spellbound.. "I was so furious that when i went to my room.. I began trying each element.. forbidden until the day after your tenth birthday.. when I reached fire.. my house was torn apart, and everything went black.." he kept his gaze to her eyes.. "It was my fault.. and I wont let you, or any others that are our friends.. be harmed. I'm sick of the torture, pain, suffering.. just because were different.." he sighed and began to float downwards..

His flame dying down.. it finally flickered out as emotion took over.. and he plummeted towards the ground...

((There in a forest right. A forest has trees. I didn't say which set of trees he wasunder. In fact he's in the trees beside the waterfall.))

Little tufts of fire puffed here and there, as he continued his plight...

As the darkness expanded more and more, and totally engulfed the area, Sanguine rose up a few feet in the air and let the energy gather. Releasing it he felt waves of darkness wash the area clean of life, like the other enclaves he had made, lifeless and draining. Landing gently on his feet, Sanguine let the darkness flow through him as he felt his power strengthen due to the closeness of being in it. "Another echo created." He muttered to himself.

The wind hummed a sod tune, the leaves echoed in on this tune, Daiyu smiled and put words to it,

Ranz crashed hard.. ((No one bothered to help X(... sheesh..)) it instantly shattered his left shoulder, and henceforth rendering that arm useless..

Ranz was still unconscious.. and rendered immobile at that moment... until he woke

Such pain... he nearly screamed when he tried to move his left arm. His right work OK but it still hurt. "So much for friends....again.." he muttered before standing, and beginning a trek back to town.

Daiyu spotted him "You sir!!" He called walking up to him.

"RANZ!!!" Amber shouted, appearing beside him. "Your arm needs some medical attention." Pointing to a stump she commanded, "Sit."

Ranz ignored and and trekked on. "I'll get it fixed in town" he muttered.. She's offering help So now you have friends? Yes. How dare you Shut up

He sighed and stopped.. before turning around and sitting on the stump.. "Sorry.. many things go on in my empty shell of a head..." My arm hurts.. alot.. I doubt she'll do anything.. You got into this mess.. fix it yourself... dummy

Amber kneeled beside Ranz and gently holding his shoulder, she whistled softly. "This is going to hurt." She said, then closing her eyes, imagined the bones mending. When it was done she opened her eyes, "There." She whispered.

((*sigh* Ranz already as the buds of a crush XD anyway.. I'm trying to post up another poem, called Colors.))

Ranz wanted to be anywhere but there suddenly.. a sickening feeling took place in his stomach. not again.. not by these trees.. not by... her..

He stood and walked fast, seemingly ascending invisible stairs to escape the trees.. "Don't follow me!" he grimaced.. it was coming.. "Thanks though..."

Amber closed her eyes, "You're welcome." She replied softly. Then taking her bow, she went to practice her archery.

Daiyu wandered out in his human form, and walked over to amber, singing gentally,

He clutched his stomach as he doubled over, fighting to keep going higher.. I refuse to destroy this forest.. I need to.. I won't.. he stopped.. unable to go any further and it came.

Rings of fire and shafts of burning red light erupted from Ranz, as his mind gave way to his heavy load. Ranz, once finished singing holes in everything around him.. fell unconscious from the power that had just erupted from him.. tearing from him.. he wasn't quite as high as last time.. so nothing was broken. His head would be mighty sore when he woke up though..
