Skyward EndingAchludite The Achludites are better known as the Shadow People, or Shadowkin. They are humanoid in form and seemingly made of thick, solid, dark gray smoke, though it is solid. Their eyes are always orange and they do not have pupils. They are natives of Zaithe. They have almost no physical strength, though their aim is nearly flawless. They are quite tall and can only communicate by touch, sending telepathic messages with physical contact (they have no ears, nose, or mouth). They can live up to 180 years. They reproduce by splitting in half every twenty-three years--thus, they have no gender, but have tendencies. Like Demons, they can only be summoned to above-ground. However, they do not have to kill their summoners to be free in Upper Illusia. Demigod/dess Demigods and -goddesses are, as their name explains, half god or goddess and half mortal (since half demons do not count as demi-deities). An Illusion demi-deity's left eye is the color of whatever their mortal half eye color is, and the right eye may be copper, bronze, silver, or gold, depending on who their divine parent is. Their divine half lends demi-deities talents that surpass most fully mortal beings, and any power their mortal parentage had is usually strengthened. Their appearance depends on their parentage. They can live up to 1000 years, but they are usually killed before they reach even a hundred, as they gain many enemies. They are also distinguished for their arrogance and over-confident attitudes. Fliiari god demi-deities simply take on a smaller, weaker form of their divine parent's "animal" form, but unlike the Illusions, the Fliiari gods take consorts only among the Fliiari as opposed to all races. Demon Demons are the twisted spawn of the Fallen god and the Spirits Iea, Yuo, and Ayu. They are bound to Zaithe unless summoned by a mage, and can only be free to roam sur-terranean Illusia if they kill their summoner. They vary in size, shape, power, and orientation--that is, how Sinister they are. There are only two things constant about them: they all have red eyes, and they are immortal. Generally, the more humanoid they are, the less powerful. However, Dread Demons usually can shapeshift. Fliiar The Fliiari are shape-shifters. Some are Feral (not having a humanoid form), some are Humane (able to shift strictly into humanoid forms). The majority, the Fliia, have both an animal and humanoid form. They are born with brown or hazel eyes, and none can switch genders. They can live up to 80 years. The Feral Fliiari can shift into an indefinite number of animals, and can only communicate with other Fliiari. Despite their name, they are sapient, though raw instincts run stronger in Feral Fliiar than others. Humane Fliiari can change from human form to human form indefinitely. They are few in number, and are prized as spies because they can quite literally change faces. The Fliia, unlike Feral and Humane Fliiari, cannot change into an indefinite number of forms. They can phase between a single animal form and a single human form. They are also unique from the other two types in that they can wield magic, though it is limited to only certain types. Human A humane lifespan varies tremendously, though the oldest human being to walk the earth of Illusia was 108 before he died. They can wield any type of magic. Their numbers are largest in all of Illusia. Lynae The Lynae are strong in magic and almost nothing else. They are tall and have pearly skin. Their eyes are full of the void--the ether--that they draw their power from, and are either the color of midnight flecked with blinding white or mirrors with pupils. Their hair is dark beyond black and is lustrous. They are not beautiful; they are unearthly. They have long, thin fingers. They can live up to 420 years. Rin The Rin is the warrior race. There are almost none who surpass them in physical combat, and if a non-Rin--an erlym--defeats a Rin, then the erlym is subject to Rin law, customs and privileges; that is, they are considered Rin by the Rin. The Rin have purple skin--the lightness of the hue generally depends on gender (light=female, dark=male--and yellow or black eyes. Their hair is either a downy white (female) or a raven's-wing black (male). They have subtle fangs. They are slender/short, stocky-muscular/short or wiry/of middling height. They can live up to 120 years, and it is distributed correspondent to human age (eg a seventeen-year-old Rin would be the equivalent of a human fourteen- or fifteen-year-old) Thalasanthar The Thalasanthar are the Seafolk. Their skin is tough, slick, and mottled, and the color depends on where they live—whether in the kelp forests, the chasms or the coral communities—and instead of legs they have the bottom half of a fish. They have eyes that vary from blue to green to brown to black. It is nearly impossible for a land-walker—called ttarvek by the Thalasanthar—to distinguish male from female, as females do not have mammary glands—they breed like fish do, only in proper nurseries—and neither gender have hair. Their overall size is somewhat bigger than humans, from head to tail, though they are almost all muscle and bone and weigh much more than humans. They either live in tribes or owe allegiance to the Thalasanvi, or queen-of-the-ocean (females, having more magic than males, have higher status in Thalasantha society) Their magic is very limited but what they have is potent. They may live as long as 130 years, but most live to around 90. | #2 Feb 25th, 9:48am . Edited May 20th, 7:41am

Skyward EndingOTHER INFORMATION Zaitheans Zaitheans--that is, Achludites and Demons--automatically have good Sigil magic because of their link to Oblivion. They can only be summoned to aboveground by a Sinister mage (the mage doesn't actually have to be Sinister, it's just that summoning is called Sinister). Demii Demii (Demi is singular and short for demi-deity) are basically the strongest "race." Ami, Dia, Brastar and Urtan take a mortal consort once a year. Thus, four Illusion Demii are born each year. This accumulates after a while, of course. The Triune Illusions, however, can only take a mortal consort once a century. Triune Demii are the strongest of all Demii. Fliiari Demii are even rarer than the Triune Demii because the Fliiari gods are not compelled in any way to take a mortal consort. However, Fliiari Demii are extraordinary and revered. There are no Thalasantha or Jehel Demii, both for obvious reasons. |

Skyward EndingDemons Demons are split up into three groups: the udin, the rak, and the Dread. From strongest to weakest: Dreadlord Dread; Demon Praetor Demon Lord Demon Beserker Demon Knight; Sho Dai Iji Ura Grshng. Udin The udin are lesser demons, and consist of Sho, Dai, Iji, Ura and Grshng. Sho and Dai are the most intelligent, and very malicious with decidedly selfish and Sinister dispositions. Iji and Ura are generally quite humanoid, and even pettier than Sho or Dai. They are very easy to manipulate. Grshng make up most of the Demonic population in Zaithe. They are barbaric and wild, and very carnal in everything they do. They range from vaguely humanoid to simply Demonic. The udin are looked upon by the Rak and Summoners/Sinister mages as servants, slaves, and in the case of the former, as entertainment (the lower Rak often torture udin--mainly the Grshng, because their response to pain is so feral). Demonic armies are made up almost wholly of the udin. Rak Demon Knights, despite their name, do not pay homage to superior Rak, though in their cowardice may "stoop" to serve the Dread (they would do this in favor of self-preservation, for if they didn't they most certainly would be Obliviated by the mentioned Dread.). Though powerful, their true strengths lie in their cunning and cleverness. They command Sho and Dai (who, in an army, in turn command Iji and Ura), and slaughter Grshng as entertainment. However, Knights are prone to being uppity and proud; Demon Lords often confront them, strip them of the armies, and almost Obliviate them. The Beserker's position as a rak is grudgingly acknowledged by Knights. Demon Beserkers are so powerful that, at the peak of their insane fury, they could seriously injure, if not Obliviate, a Demon Lord. However, while not a thrall to their bloody trance that is their namesake, their behavior resembles that of Grshng and lower Ura: uncultivated and decidedly barbaric. Even so, their intellect soars above that of an udin's, even able to rival that of a Knight's. Beserkers are solitary Demons, and extremely averse to working with other Beserkers. They will serve higher Demons if the pay is rewarding enough, and if the work assigned is not completely debasing. Demon Lords are powerful Demons that "own" a part of Zaithe, and are usually styled as tyrants. They are not to be confused with Dreadlords. Lords employ Beserkers to do the dirty--yet imporant, otherwise the Beserker would most likely not agree to do the job--work, but they will go into the fray if he or she believes lower rak will not do. They are just as haughty as knights, but far more realistic. Lords are wise, which is a characteristic that Knights rarely possess. Demon Lords will never question their superiors--the Dread and the Praetors--unless it rails against their beliefs (which are very practical but decidedly Sinister), in which case they will band together to bring said Dread or Praetor down, though in the case of the former their chances are poor at best. Demon Praetors are so practical it makes them Sinister. They are so devoid of any kind of mercy that they would destroy anything without a trace of guilt--however, that would be utterly impossible, and would leave them nowhere to exist. Dread The Dread are laws unto themselves. Made almost purely of raw Oblivion, they are evil beyond imagining. The Dread number few compared to the other Demons, but their power dwarfs the power that all the rak and udin have together. | #4 Aug 23rd, 1:08am . Edited Aug 27th, 3:04pm
