She reached out to the platter slowly. "Arcane magic, eh?" she murmured softly. Then she spoke louder. "My name's Aeryn." She wondered if she should've told him that, but shrugged off her worries. Saying her name wouldn't matter.

Ranz nodded.. "I'm Ranz. Enjoy.." he walked to his bedroom (which is across the hall to your left))

Aeryn took a tentative bite of bread. She'd heard Ranz's words before, and she figured she had to trust him. And anyway, the food was good after having nothing to eat for about a day, not including candy canes.

Ranz propped open book and found many tearstains.. "noo... NOO!" he screamed.. "Damnit! Damnation!" he yelled as he burned the book... "Damnit I knew I shouldn't have left!"

Aeryn's head shot up at Ranz's voice. She wondered what she should do. Would he be angry with her? She put the bread back on the table and tentatively braced herself for anything.

Ranz stormed out the door to dive in the calming lake.. everywhere he touched the water steamed immensly.. Ty and Naomi came running out of their bedroom at Ranz's voice..

Ranz gave them a loving look, trying to desperately hide his anger.. "Go to your room.." he said solemnly.. "We have a guest.. make sure she's well fed and taken care of.." they nodded and ran to the Mess hall- leaning on each side of the doorway.. "need anything?" Naomi asked quietly..

Back inside, Aeryn took a seat. She was overreacting, and she knew it. She continued to eat in silence. Besides, she needed all the energy she could get, never knowing what she might need to do next.

Naomi walked up beside Aeryn.. "Do..you..need..anything..?" she asked, slowly.. quietly making sure Aeryn would understand..

Aeryn looked up at the newcomer who stood before her. "No, I think I'm good." She smiled a bit. "...Who are you, anyway?"

naomi smiled.. "I'm Naomi, Ranz's daughter.. That's Tydus by the door, just call him Ty."

Aeryn nodded, then smiled back. "Cool. I'm... well, I guess you probably know, but I'm Aeryn."

Anlai was outside when Ranz and the others came home, thus, she didn't know about it. She stepped inside the front door, holding a basket of flowers when she heard Ranz's yelling. She stopped in her tracks and dropped the basket, flowers spilling out and onto the floor. "Ranz?" she called out tentatively, "Is that you?"

Ranz laid back and sighed. "I thought you left.. I'm sorry... I disgraced you immensely...

"Why would I leave?" Anlai asked him in a whisper, her lower lip quivering slightly, "I couldn't ever leave the kids behind....whatever made you think that? And....how have you disgraced me?"

"I've.. I thought you were gone and I didn't even.. I couldn't even.." he sighed....

"Couldn't what?" she whispered, coming to stand in front of him, a confused expression on her face. It was all she could do to hold all her emotions in check. She'd missed him, even though he hadn't really been gone for that long, and she had to hold herself back. She wasn't sure how he'd react if she did something.

"I couldn't even make sure you were gone or not.. because not only id I not know how.. I was furious... I scorched my book beyond repair.. I had to force myself to not look so emotional in front of the kids..." it hit him.. "We have a guest. Mess hall. Go tend to her.. I-I... don't really want to look another female anytime... ever.." I need a moment to relax.. adjust... she's not gone I know that now.. Well? I love her with all my heart but... but what! I can't bear it to tell her what happened in the woods.. You pathetic fool.. Jareth walked through the halls. Something wasn't right, something was upsetting the balance.

Anlai knelt in front of Ranz and placed her hand on his leg, looking up at him. "Ranz...it's okay, everything is okay," she swallowed and asked in a whisper, "What's wrong, Ranz? I can tell you're worried about something..."

Dax walked down the hall and came across Jareth. "Something's going on," he told Jareth with a frown, "And I'm not sure if it's going to be bad or not."

Jareth nodded. "There is a shift in the balance. But I too cannot tellif it's for good or bad." He replied.

Ranz sighed.. ((He's laying down, so Anlai would be kneeling beside him on the bed right?))

He closed his eyes, and laid before her everything that happened in the forest.. ((I don't really want to write this a third time.. fourth if I have to write it again for Lycan..

Once Aeryn finished eating her fill, she looked around at her surroundings. "Nice house," she commented to no one in particular. She leaned back in her chair with a contented sigh.

A shadow appeared beside her, "Was the meal to your liking Ma'am?" It asked.

Aeryn whipped around. "Y-yes," she stuttered.

Ranz decided to go see how his guest was going.. only to bump into Naomi. "Her names Aeryn! she's pretty!" Ranz sighed as he trudged to the room to explain all the yelling..

he propped himself up on the door-frame, just like Naomi did moments before.. "SO.. your name's Aeryn.. well.. sorry about all the yelling.."

"Forgive the sudden intrusion Ma'am." The shadow bowed.
