"What do you want?" Nino hissed

"Simple," He ducked to dodge a swipe from Nino, "I want to kill one of the mose powerful shadows in existence.

"And I don't care!"

The Brite rolled his eyes, then snapped his fingers. He tossed the small orb of light that appeared at Mark. It stuck to him, burning Mark. "Silly girl."

Jessie snapped. Throwing her self at the brite, she stopped short.

"I ain't no girl, darlin. Back off!"

"Oh this isnt fair. I'll just come back some other time."

"Boohoo!"

"Mark!" Kayla saw the Brite fighting Mark from the corner of her eye. "We have to-"

"No we don't." Daiya folded her arms. Kayla eyed her for a moment.

Then struck her face.

"Sometimes I feel like I don't know you anymore." Kayla ran to aid Mark and left Daiya to digest the words.

"Smething must be wrong with me." Daiya licked the corner of her mouth. "Who knew blood could taste so sweet."

"This will be easier when i have the upper hand." The Brite grinned, grabbing Marks neck, then picking him up. He squeezed right between Marks shoulder and Neck, and Mark passed out.

"Oh no you don't!"Kayla leapt as far as she could and latched her teeth onto the brite.

"You pay for that. I'll be sure to torture you friend before i kill him now." The Brite sneered, shaking feircly to knock Kayla off.

Kayla did her best to keep her grip. "He- hasn't-done-any-thing-to-you!" she said between bites. She pulled back her arm to ready for a strike.

"I wouldnt do that if I were you." He smirked, holding Mark's unconious body in front of him. A few seconds passed, then he sprinted off running, still carrying Mark. Marks hand caught on a brach, cutting him slightly. Slowly drops of blood fell to the ground as the Brite ran. Leaving a perfect path.

Kayla had frozen for a split second. And that was all it took... "Mark!" Kayla sprinted after the Brite. She ignored the tingling sensation in her body only to find herself in front of the brite by a few meters. Having no time to remain puzzled she disregarded her sudden agility for the moment.

"S-Stop! Don't make me hurt you! I have Teeth and I'm not afraid to use em'!" She pulled her lips back to reveal her pointy fangs.

Jessie ran up to her. "save your breath kid. He's a hell of a lot older than you, your threats don't mean squat!" She tore after Mark along the blood trail.

"There must be something I can do!" Kayla sprinted beside Jessie to keep up. "I have to try!"

"Chase him, follow the blood!" Nino said, running into the forest

Jessie sighed, suddenly glad she was barefoot.

Nino turned,"Your Barefoot, want me to carry you?" He asked

"It's easier to run like this .... try run in spike heels."

"No thank you." He laughed

"'Sides, back in the day, barefoot was the norm. Somethings stick with you ..."

"I suppose," Nino grinned," Come on, lets get going."

Jessie nodded and ran faster.

"I have to say i think we need a car." Nino laughed

"Haha. No! I cannot drive worth a damn!"

"Me neither."

"We'd be fairly bad then ..." Jessie smiled, blinking as she heard something ahead.

"I suppose. What was that?" Nino asked

"No ... clue ..."

"Should we investigate?" Nino asked

Kayla nodded sharply.

"We weren't running around this place like headless chickens for nothing!"

((I'm not sure what the noise is.))

The Brite set Mark down miles away from where he had kidnapped him. "Its too bad he was married," The Brite thought, "He's very cute. And he's about my age." It thought

Kayla stepped through the bushes only to come face to face with Daiya. "Di?"

"He was kidnapped right? I'll help." Daiya said. Kayla smiled.

"I knew you'd change your mind about him!" Daiya shook her head at Kayla.

"Its not for him. I'm worried about you. You could get hurt."

"I'm a super vamp remember?" she held up her hands and curled her fingers. "Rarr!" Daiya rolled her eyes and ruffled her hair.

"Lets go."

Jessie laughed. "Daiya! Don't scare me like that!"

"I'll try to remember that when we're in situations of impending doom." Daiya joked with a smile. Her face turned serious. "But we really ought to get going if we want to catch that... Person/thing that was fighting... Him." For some reason, n Daiya's mind Mark was still an 'it'.

"His name is Mark," Jessie corrected severly. "And you're right."

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Kayla broke into a run and smiled to herself when Daiya ran straight after. At least somethings about Daiya hadn't changed...

The brite heard faint voices.

"I suppose i should go now." She smiled lightly, backing away slowly from Mark

Jessie ran after her, limped every so now and then when she stepped on a pine needle.

Nino ran steadily behind her, flinching everytime she stumbled or limped

"Jessie... You're not wearing shoes?" Daiya noticed with a raised brow.

Nino laughed, then took off running again

Kayla saw a glimpse of the Brites trail. "I see her!" she yelled, foolishly alerting the brite.

"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I'm being chased, oh how queer." She laughed, still running. She felt like confusing the poor kid.

"Hey! Stop!" kayla yelled running after the brite.

"I could, but then you might smahs my head in with a hood. You muderous hippotomous!" The Brite laughed once more, thinking of random things as she ran

"WHO'S A HIPPO? Oh! She's goin' DOWN!" Kayla ran oblivious to Daiya exasperated sigh. Kayla jumped and fisted her hand narrowly missing the brite.
