Yay! Welcome on board! I figured I'd put up the registration in case folks came on and just want to read the stories or something? I don't know. Would people even do that with this name? Maybe if we got lots of members and not everyone wanted to write a story...? Um... maybe it had something to do with us posting links to all our stories? So what kind of contest is this? A story writing contest?

Sega, I think I'll call you. ^-^ Anyways, it wasn't originally intended to be a contest, just a sort of friendly group to help peeps write their stories and get feedback on them, and get some reviews while we're at it (everyone's stories are going to be reviewed in some pattern... not sure if we should split into groups or if everyone should have to do a certain number of stories or what...) Suggestions are great, though. Should it be a contest? Should the author whose story we all like the best win? And what would they win if they do?

Oh, and a few more ideas: It would probably be a nice idea if we all read some of each other's work, so that we got a feel for each other's styles. No obligations or anything, but do you think it would help us give some better feedback? I'm also thinking about making a C2 to post our bimonthly stories.

How do y'all feel about any of that?

Hmm... a contest souds interesting. Maybe we could make it a seperate topic or something. Would it be voting, or the administrators choosing the winners. And if it was voting, would it be just the participants, just the people in this forum, or anyone? So many questions :o It sounds cool, but we've deffinately got a lot to work out. The C2 sounds like a good idea, too.

Hey, I like dragons too. Actually, I love dragons, because they sort of remind me of my iguana... hem. That's a long story that's entirely off topic. I don't have anything to contribute to that C2 because the only dragon stories I've read any of off here are the works in progress of Lime and Sega...

Man, I can't wait till June now to set up that C2... or maybe we should publicize the stories after we do the reviewing/ editing of them... Ah, we'll figure out when to post and how to review when the time comes.

As for the contest idea, I know that at the very least, the judges would have to be everyone on this forum. I really don't feel confident enough in my taste to be half the panel if it's up to me and Lime... But I don't think that we're well known enough to have the judging be outside of this forum. If you all are interested in this, we should probably make a new topic for it, since it's pretty confusing to post about this stuff on the thread supposedly for "May registration" :D

You've got the whole month of May, so there's no rush, but about two weeks have gone by since we started talking, just to let you know. Time sure does fly. In order to make it, you've gotta write about 166 words per day, every day! Just in case you were too tired to do silly math problems like that :D That's 1166 words a week. (I'm a nerd).

Ok, as smart as I am, I still am a little unsure about how this works. So we write a story, and it has to be done by the end of May... How many words? What is the contest judging based on?

Eh... no contest. We're just here to help motivate each other to write these stories. Sorta like dieting. Five thousand words. Take any idea you might have and just run with it. Editing is also something you should do, since you've got a lot of time to write this, and we're also here to help you out with that :)

If you want a contest, though, you're welcome to help set it up and all. I have no idea what to do for it. :\

Well, it is encouraged to write a bit every day, but not required. (wow, i shouldn't be saying this....haha...too late *ahem*) Yea, everyone just has to finish by the end of May. ^_^

Ackkk! I'm behind...didn't even start my story...still in uber-planning mode but I do have the bare bones of the plot planned.

Yeah... I'm kind of still in the researching stage... Oh well, the it's almost the weekend, so hopefully I can kick my butt into shape!

I plan on re-starting when final exams are finished with their battle royale with my brain. As of right now, I'm a bit lost as to how I want my story to progress (and I'm only on chapter 2?) XD

I have... nothing that I would publish. Making outlines is a very good idea... I have this nasty habit of writing something and then getting stuck with how to progress the nonexistent plot... which is why I have no plot ideas up...

For me, I just have to get a pretty detailed outline out and then force myself to follow it. From there, it spills out. haha. ^_^

1) Title (with a link to the story)

2) Current Status (i.e. how many chapters/word count)

as you post more chapters, edit the post to update the status.

I know how you feel!!! I am sooo behind. I have been way to busy to write lately. I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED!!!!!!!!! Ok, I've really got to work... Gosh... I must be going crazy.

I doubt I can finish my story at the rate I'm going, let alone finish it. I am still in plannig mode, although I did start *sort of* writing the first chapter of the story. My story is now called "The Spirit of the Heart". But I take responsibility for not writing as I'm a lazy procrastinator without time or lots of motivation :D

Btw Ashe, congrats on writing 36,000 words!

O.O That would be inhuman... we can't tell you to write five thousand well edited words in a month and then expect you to pull off THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND to finish the story! The only thing you would have to do by the end of the month would be to edit what you have to the point where it's as much to your satisfaction as you can get it.

Of course, that's not saying you can't go on and do your best to finish by June ;P

If I said no I'd be a hypocrite.... I think that as long as you made an honest effort to push the cancer story and still got nowhere, then you're more than welcome to choose to ditch it and move on.

Great! Well, I'm hoping to have 5,000 words in a few days' time. Most of what I currently have is really disjointed. I have an outline, and I know what I want to put on paper... it's the writing part that's the problem.
