So i have an idea for a pirates story set in Madagascar. I've done my research and discovered their used to be different clans. And one clan, called Libertalia seemed really interesting. There's no real exact time im setting it at but it about the time the carribean was being ridden of piracy. The main charcter in the story is a girl named Ivy. She's been through a lot, and has travled the world. But she always came back to Libertalia. This guy named Christopher who is a newcomer from the carribean meets her(in a very odd way) and befriends her. She ends up becoming part of his crew. The longer she stays, the more her life begins to unravel in front of him. There are a lot of flashback from Ivy's first life,when she was younger and a privliged child. And the parts of her second life,when she became a pirate. Also i incorperate the lives of the crew,Christopher,and other people that are invovled in Ivy's life. Im not sure if this is a gud plot or not. I just want some feedback. and help for details later in the story...yea

According to my research, the existence of Libertalia is actually disputed. Charles Johnson's "A General History of Pirates", which is the only source of information regarding the clan, is a mixture of fact and fiction and it is entirely possible that the colony did not exist at all. I would suggest you do some further research into the colony before starting this story.

You don't really have much of a plot. You just have an idea of what will happen, but there's no actual climax to suggest a plot from what you've described. What do you plan to have happen in the story?

"The Complete Idiot's Guide to Pirates" by Gail Selinger and Jr., W. Thomas Smith should help you. And remember Pirates were VERY Democratic. Can't help anymore, I know almost nothing about them.
