Topic: I need help with a dance scene

I have a Western story that I've been working on for a long while and I have the entire plot(well, most of it) worked out, but I need help writing a dance scene.

Basically what happens is this: Lena(the main character) is asked to go to this dance by Brian(her friend and neighbor). She agrees and is all excited and goes off to get ready. Brian, after Lena tells him yes, goes off to find all his buddies and tells them that he got Lena to go with him and they all don't believe him. The sun sets and Brian shows up at Lena's house to escort her to the dance in town. Once at the dance, Brian proves to his friends that he did indeed get Lena to go with him and then Lena finds out that he asked her to the dance just to win a bet with his friends. Lena gets very mad and slaps Brian, which starts a whole fight....in the middle of the dance...and it also happens to be her 16th birthday. Lena's dad and the Sheriff both interfere and break up the fight and Lena demands her father to take her home and tells Brian that she never wants to speak to him again. End of chapter.

Wow....and now that I've written all that out(which I've never done before), I'm not sure I need as much help as I thought I would. hehe, but still, input would be nice!

OH DANCE SCENE! XD I'm a ballroom dancer so whenever I see the word "dance" the first thing that comes to mind is ballroom dance class. :)

Seems like you've got it all figured out! Is it a historical fic? When/where are you setting it?

Lol, yeah I guess just writing it all out really set it straight.

It's a Western. West Texas in 1860 to be exact.

Lol. My best friend hails from Texas, and he ain't too fond of it.

I don't know much about Texas ini 1860, but I can suppose that square dancing was a popular dance.

Thanks, Lee! lol, well, I LOVE Texas! hrm, maybe it's cause I've lived here 16 out of my measly 17 years.... XD

yeah that's what I'm guessing, though in the story, I don't really go into the details of the actual dances.
