**Sometime Later**

Jenny meandered up, exhausted from hospital work, carrying fresh bandages for Cross. She doubted he needed them anymore, although there was always that chance that someone else might need them.

He saw her coming and waved.

Jenny smiled at him and walked over.

"Hey." she greeted. "How're you?"

"Better."

"No rotting flesh?"

"Not that I noticed.."

She smirked.

"How do you not notice something like that?"

"Well ya see I didn't really.."

She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms.

"You've been forgetting to check the bandage, haven't you?"

"God don't do that! You look like mom."

Jen's face broke into a grin and she laughed.

"Now now Jackie, listen to Mummy!" she teased.

He shivered.

She smiled and laughed a bit more.

"I'm sorry." she said with sparkling eyes. "I'm a bit too happy."

"What happened?" he said pretending to horofied

"Relax." she teased with a smirk. "I just ran into a handsome young soldier... and before you get any ideas, no he's not Union and he's not you."

He mockingly hung his head at the news it wasn't him and then grinned. "Good luck, don't do anything I would."

Jen smirked.

"You wouldn't do anything." she teased. "You don't even like me. Remember? I followed YOU around."

"I liked you enough," he admitted. "I mean I didn't stop you from hanging around with me.

"You could've. I'll bet having a girl tagging along wasn't your idea of fun."

He shugged. "Your not the girllist girl I know so it wasn't bad."

"Remember that time I came to school in my brother's pants?"

He laughed. "Didn't look half bad."

"Teacher begged to differ." she grinned.

"Oh she was half blind anyway..."

"First day of school she thought I was a boy. How many boys do you know named Jenny?"

"None, but she was half blind."

Jen nodded.

"Got a point." she said. "Now, have I bored you enough or can I stay here for a bit? It's freezing."

"Don't mind at all." He took off his jacket and gave it to her.

Jen smiled and chuckled a bit as she put the jacket on her shoulders.

"Now you're gonna turn blue." she commented.

"I think I'll live."

Jen shrugged.

"Alright. 'Cause the only cure I have for frostbite is throwing you in a pot of water and watching you melt."

She grinned.

"Think you'd like that too much."

"Maybe a little."

He shvered from the cold. "More then a little."

She smirked.

"You're pathetic." she teased, handing him back his jacket. "You're great, friendly, but... yeah."

He thrust it back at her. "Take it, I'll really be ok."

Jen crossed her arms.

"You're already turning blue, and I'm fine."

"No I'm not."

Jen rolled her eyes.

"Fine, I'll wear the damn coat." she muttered as she put it back on and flapped her arms. "Ooh, big scary grey crow!"

"Hey, that's not nice."

"Sorry." Jen smiled. "But seriously, don't I look like a bird?"

She grinned and flapped her arms again.

"A bit," he said with a snort.

(Oo maybe he could get cold again and she could hug him to keep him warm or something?)

Jen shrugged.

"Not my fault you're bigger than me."

He laughed and shivered again.

"You're still cold." she pointed out childishly. "Here."

She put her arms around him and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"Better?"

"Awkward," he mumbled clinging to her.

She stuck her tongue out.

"I'm your friend, not your damsel in distress." she teased.

"That's why it is.."

She rolled her eyes.

"Fine." she mumbled. "Go freeze."

She let go and sighed.

He hugged her again. "I said it was awkward not creepy."
