Here lies another city-state which aspires to become a great nation, but it is much farther off than Petrovia. The city is large but in disrepair. Many of the buildings are empty, those that cannot be properly ventilated and plated to withstand the harsh world. A few trains run from building to building, carrying what food and supplies the city has. The only impressive aspect of this city-state is its wall, a great steel barrier several yards thick with towers and gatehouses filled with cannons and rockets and machinegun nests. There is one gate, a great rusting double-door that seldom ever opens.

((Need info of Novgorod clan to not create confusion like Jon))

((Big wall, not underground, pretty big but dirty, and some parts are abandoned. There should be a capitol building where the leaders are, somewhere near the center of town. If you want to make Aleksei extra-pleased, kill as many officials as you can along with the leader.))

A midnight moon lit the stage for Novgorod three days after Reapers conversation with Petrov. The gaurds, having days of no activity, were asleep and the wind drew silent. Reaper had aproached. For the last six hours he had examined the complex in the shadows searching for a weak point. He finally found one. A rusty door. Now was the time to strike.

With feet like a animal, he charged twords the door and began to climb with traction from the years of rust. Reaper was in Novgorod. He now began to make his way to the center. Thats were the alfa will always sleep. Suddenly he saw a guard and in a heartbeat slit his throat and left him in a bush. Now the leader. Petov had certainly given him some good info. A woman. Reaper noticed all the buildings were wooden, not metal. He finally then reached the tallest building and sneaked in a window. Guards there were awake, but drowsy enough to not notice them. Reapers naginata disposed of them quickly and silently. Then to the upper level. More guards. But they were no match for the Reaper. They died like dogs. Now to the master suite.

The leader was indeed a woman. A beautiful Russian brunette. She slept in a average cot surprisingly. Then came the blow. With a quick and deadly strike Reaper decapitated her, an excellent present for Petrov. Then for the rest of this horrible city. Exiting the window, Reaper lit two matches and threw them in the building. It then lit ablaze spreading throughout the sleeping city. Carrying the head in his head (by the hair) Reaper jumped back off the wall and ran back to Petrovia with the burning city behind him.

((Buildings are metal there; wood buildings could never withstands the conditions of this world. But the inside would still be flammable. But I have a surprise for before you can escape the city.))

In the way of the escaping Reaper, in the middle of a large and shadowy street, stood an entire battalion of soldiers with riot shields in a frontal defense line with gunners behind. But they, in fact, were not here for Reaper. There was something worse behind him. "Show those mutants what they deserve!" Suddenly automatic fire rang out in the streets, creating bright flashes and revealing the targets of the soldiers: once humans but now swelled double size and disfigured with hyper muscle and tissue growth, running at the soldiers.

((Explanation: in Novgorod, after several mutations occurred, one became contagious by touch, was non-lethal to the host, and made the host immune to radiation. But this came with huge detriments, mostly to those other than the hosts. These mutants lose much of their brain and become animals, and their hyper muscle growth makes them deadly animals. They attack anyone non-kin to themselves when in their territory, and those that are not killed become beasts. But the greatest spread comes in the less-developed of these mutants, who have only begun to act a little abnormal and thus still have contact with non-mutants. It takes about three weeks to become fully mutated once infected.))

Reaper ran to see a vast army of mutants like him. But Reaper works alone. Reaper needs no compassion. The lone wolf would rather run then fight for another pack. Reaper ran right and avoided the battle to live another day. He wasn't told to fight this, so why. Reaper ran away to kill again another day.

After a fair deal of travelling, they could see the city in the distance, or at least Stephen could. He decided to set camp for the night.

(Just got back to a computer with internet. I had a great time in the Alps!)

The major immediately began standard procedure without even needing to be ordered (if he had, he only would have worked more slowly and grudgingly anyway) and set up his tent, making sure it was only just high enough to support him and none more, as to avoid being spotted. He then began setting tripwires around a perimeter of 20x20 meters, well enough space for all the spies to camp safely. An experienced soldier, the major was done in a matter of ten minutes.

"Ready...sir."

Stephen's mouth twitched at the corner at how much it hurt the soldier to call him sir. Which ironically was completely unessecary. His own tent was empty except for his bedroll. He went inside and immediately slept.

Solokov chuckled in a series of what seemed more like scoffs.

"I guess I'm the first watch tonight," he turned to Rain, "unless you want to go first."

((I know you've been back, but when I posted, your character talked to rain, so now I hafta wait for Kazeharu to post it seems.))

((Oops I nearly forgot about this thing! lol))

Rain nodded and replyed "No, you can go first." After that, she began to set up her tent.

((lol. At least we're all back to it now, except for Kross, who is taking a break from roleplaying.))

Major Solokov laughed and said nothing, turning out to face the horizon and scan the distance. Then, after a few minutes of careful watching, he turned back to the others.

"I will watch from 9:00 to midnight. Next watch, you decide amongst yourselves who, is from midnight to 3:00. Last watch from 3:00 to 6:00." Solokov then sat down and began his watch, the time being 8:55.

After a bit of thought, she said "I claim the 3:00 to 6:00 if you don't want it."

((Now I wait....))

Throughout the night, there were far off sounds of yelling and gun shots and all forms of violence. Just as Solokov was about to end his shift, there was an explosion but ten yards from the Major which skook the whole capsite.

"THE NORTH TRIPWIRES WAS SET OFF!!!! EVERYBODY UP!!!!" Solokov already had his gun poised to fire, but it was hard to make out anything in the smoke and darkness. He caught sight of a monstrous figure and immedaitely let out a three-round burst at it. The figure stepped back in pain and let out a half-choked scream, but didn't fall. The Major this time fired a full ten rounds on automatic, all aimed at what seemed to be the monster's head. This time, the creature let out a grunt and fell. Just as the Major thought it was over, another large explosion lit up, signaling the breach of the west tripwire. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, COWARDS!!!! GET OUT HERE!!!"

Stephen was already out of his tent, his two desert eagles blazing. Three hadd shown their hideous faces, and he had been forced to unload both just to kill the first. As he ran back to Rain's tent he reloaded. He was opened it long enough to shout at her to get up, then turned to see one of the monstrosities a foot away from him. Stephen put three bullets into the things head, then shot another that was following it. Reloading again, his hands nearly a blur, he went over to where he heard Solokov's gunfire. He reached where he was easy enough, then he saw another leapt from the brush and land on him. Stephen fired twice from the hip, almost casually, and it fell over with a muffled grunt. Stephen offered his hand to him.

Major Solokov took the hand and pulled himself up with a groan. He then turned to Stephen.

"Thank you. Your action was quick and precise. But, in future cases, I suggest you use the sub-machinegun. The Bizon 2 can hold a full 62 rounds in its helical magazine and shoot them out at 700 rounds per minute."

"Ummm I'm already out." She told Stephen. She aided in defeating the figures, and sighed.

8/17/2008 #20
Jonathan Shapiro

((Kazeharu, that's why you post quickly, now you posting there makes no sense.))

Stephen shrugged,, "You use your guns and I'll use mine, as long as we don't die, it doesn't matter."

8/17/2008 #21
AspenIvan

Solokov sighed. He did owe the man his life.

"Agreed. Now I must retire to my tent, as I believe you are the watch now, commander." he was now using the title a little less hesitantly. Of course, before going to his tent to sleep, the Major got his supply bag and set new tripwires where the old ones had been set off.

((I'll delete the post for you.))

Stephen set down on his haunches and began to clean his guns.

8/18/2008 #24
AspenIvan

((Now I must ask you: Do you have something planned, or should we skip to the next shift or morning?))

8/19/2008 #25
Jonathan Shapiro

((Skip away.))

Stephen awoke slowly, then walked into the open and began to dissasemble hit tent. He looked at Rain, "Get ready to move, sis."

8/19/2008 #26
AspenIvan

The Major awoke and was up and conscious in three seconds, as he had learned from countless years of training and exercises. He then proceeded out of his tent, disarmed and removed the tripwires, stored them in his backpack, took down his tent, and put that in his backpack.

"Any orders? Or shall we move on immedoately after the woman is done? Of course, we have no idea how long that will take."

8/19/2008 #27
Jonathan Shapiro

Stephen shook his head, "I want to get a good look at those things in the daylight before we head out." He motioned for the Major to follow him to one that Stephen remembered cleanly putting two bullets into the head, and shouldn't be disfigured too much from it.

8/21/2008 #28
KazeHaru Hime

Ignoring Stephen, she woke up, and began to pack up her tent. After all, she'd been packing up and moving on for years, so it wasn't at all difficult to pack up this tent.

8/21/2008 #29

"Good idea, I suppose. Best to know what we're dealing with before we risk facing any more of it." Solokov followed Stephen to the beast and was amazed at the sight. It was like a man who had suffered fro some sort of total body swelling, except for that his eyes were still regular-sized, almost crushed between his giant cheeks and forehead. The whole thing was indescribably grotesque, and the Major couldn't help from flinching at the sight. Then again, most people would vomit at the sight.
