Where the Sun Sets

well it took me forever to get the story loaded correctly....this is my favorite read ever....I know I wrote it and it should be my favorite....but it seriously is....I have 37 readers who agree with me....do not read if you have to get up in the morning as I have had several readers have to call out sick because they could not put it down....I have been trying to get the book published now for just over two years and I will continue to work at that as it is my goal yet my true passion is to have people read what I have written....so I have posted my story here and hope all will read it and enjoy it....

You might not want to post the whole thing up as one chapter. Not many people will bother scrolling that much. And if you're trying to get it published not a lot of publishers will want something that you've already posted online for free.

Edit: Also I've noticed the book is only 74,628 words long. Considering that most pages in books are 440 words long that leaves yours to be only about 169 pages, that's pretty short for a publisher to want.

well, 169 pages isn't so bad. and i had no idea that it wasn't a good idea to post a story/book on the net for free then go to a publisher. it's a pretty good tip. do you think that's what would happen? but yeah, it's much better if you post the chapters seperately. makes it easier on the reader. plus, if following R.L McCaid's advice, you should probably then post only a chapter or two and get a reader's opinion rather than the entire thing. i wouldn't want someone to read a story i wrote online and never buy the book if it gets published, right? lol. less profit made. that's why amazon only gives you an excerpt. grrr. heh. anyway, you should do that instead- put out an excerpt and get a person's opinion.

alrightey, i started reading your story, but please please please break it up. seperate it and make different chapters. for ex.: make josephine's life one chapter and antonia's (i think that's right- i closed the page on accident...anyhoo) another chapter. it's just much simpler for readers. ^_^ but one thing is for sure- i luv ur writing! it's very good, and although i would like to read more- i don't have much time, but keep up the good work!

while it is my desire to have my work published my dream would be to be read...if I do not post the whole story I cannot be read because getting published is so difficult...agents don't want you unless you are published and publishers dont want you unless you have an agent...I love this story and want to share it...if a publisher by chance reads it and wants that would be great...if not at least it got read...I would love to put it up as seperate chapters but I do not know how...it took me three days to get it up without it being all chopped up...I did seperate the chapters by spacing...sorry if it takes away from the enjoyment of the read...if someone knows how to correct it please feel free to let me know...XB, the first few pages are the prologue...once you get past this and chapter one you will slide through the rest...thanks for taking the time...

oh, you don't know how? well, i can tell you. i had the same problem when i began writing on fanfiction a few years ago. well, now i have to remember...umm... ok... first, on the left side of the screen-when you log in- you'll see a column, so go down to where it says "stories." click on that then your storie(s) will pop up. click on the link and it will take you to the area where you can rewrite your summary and all that. above it you'll see a bar where it will say- something i can't remember, but right next to that it'll say "contents/chapters". click on that. oh, but first, i'm sure you know, you have to seperate your chapters when you upload the document. so, if you use Word, seperate your story chapter by chapter so that you'll have one document with one chapter and another document with another. upload it THEN you'll go to stories. lol.(i forgot that one major detail). anyway, after you click on "chapters" you'll see a list with you're chapters. you have the options to delete, export, or edit and change the title of the chapter. go down and you'll be able to see the bar where it says "New Chapter"- something like that. heh. you'll find it. type down what you want the chapter of the title to be then upload the document. if you want to replace a chapter, go down and you'll see the bar that says "Replace chapter". pick the chapter that already exists that you want to replace, then upload the new document.

Also, export nex to the existing chapters will send your chapter to the manage documents page where you can preview/edit the chapter's contents.

um, well, i hope that helped. i'm sorry if it was a little confusing, but i hope that made sense.

anyway, good luck with getting your story published. don't give up on your dream, and i'll be keeping an eye out for your book when it gets published. ^_^ don't give up hope cause me and a lot here are definitely rooting for you.
