Topic: Writing Challenges

Fantasy Writing Challenge

I don't know if you guys think this is a good idea or not, but I like the idea. So anyway here's the challenge.

The rules are simple, for a bit of fun. You need to write a fantasy story/poem on one of the following:

Mermaids, Genies, Princess, Dragons, Witches, Fairies, Giants.

Once you have created your fantasy poem/story, you need to write on the topic that your in and give your story/poem link. At least write on your story/poem at the end of it, that it's been done for the Roadhouse Fantasy challenge.

Since I'm not going to participate, I'll be the judge of the best story/poem. Who ever wins gets a review for atleast 3 of there stories off me and if you guys want to particpate you also have to make a rule you will review the winner, if they win.

Deal, if you don't like the idea, I'll delete it. It's just a bit of fun.

The Challenges closes the 22nd of October. Get Writing...

KelaBelle, thanks for getting a competition going, but you might've wanted to clear this in the 'Questions' thread first, to make sure there's enough interest generated so we don't end up having another empty thread, us being without a mod and all... =x

If it's ok, I'd like to do it. I don't think I've ever written about any of those things before. Might be fun :)

Yes anyone can sign up, even god himself lol. It's not about who you are, it's about what writing techniques you have. Once you have writed your poem or story, give the link. And remember that whoever wins you have to review, it's rule if you join.

I forgot to ask, does it have to be a oneshot? Like can it be a first chapter or.....

KelaBelle

It has to be a poem or a oneshot or a story full done. it can't be half a story, if you understand what I mean. x

Im not in. For me, fantasy takes extensive planning that takes up months of my time, so I might figure out a map and a few characters by the time it finishes.

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to participate in this challenge. It was my own fault. However, I'll still read and review the participants at a later time. Can't wait to see who won :D

By the way, Kelabelle, are you going to be posting more challenges under this top? Could be fun.

I agree, we should do more of these. Maybe mix it up a little with the genre's or something? Or not, either way (:

Unfortunately, I ended up not having the time to finish an entry. School loves to steal my free time. But of course, I'll still gladly be reviewing the winner and all. And I agree, I would looove to see more challenges on here.

It was a tough choice to make, because all 3 poems/stories were amazing, and I mean that. But in the end that had to be a winner, and I judged this on what I thought was catchy and eye candy.

The winner is Fairies By Xx-Angel-of-Shadows-xX. Welldone may the rest of you take your time to read this beautiful poem, you shall get 3 reviews off me as a reward of winning and others shall review it too.

Note - You have all requested to do other challenges, I myself think thats a good idea too.

I'm going away tomorrow night for a week, so all that can be done once I come back.

Thankyou to those of you that took part. :)

Detective Writing Challenge

I was going to start this challenge next week because I will be away all week but I thought why not start one now.

So the next challenges theme is called Detective Writing Challenge. This challenge will be harder then the first one, but will seem more interesting to do.

You have to write from a detectives point of view on a case. The case has to be on a murder situation.... you have to write whats happened.

Pointers... You need a catchy title. You need to keep the reader guessing, don't tell them whats happening in the story, until near the end. A twist would be even more catchy.

R U L E S.

Once, you have writed your one-shot story write at the bottom that the challenge was do for the Roadhouse Detective Challenge.

One- shot must be atleast 1000 words.

Who ever wins you review, it's a rule you have to except if your going to participate.

Challenge needs to need to be done for 15th November.

Get writing.

Once it closes I will put up all the stories that are involved on a poll on here and then for 2 days it will be up and yuou can vote which one you like the best, that way its fair and everyone can particpate on who they think was the best.
