Thoughts on writing: I love writing, though I wish I had more talent. I also like to write because it helps me improve my English.

Something little known: Erm.. Few people know I'm here on the internet, writing stories.

How did you find this place: I don't remember, it was a long time ago. I was a lurker until now.

Scariest moment in life: Can't think of anything, really. I've had my share of scary moments, but none really stand out.

Thoughts on writing: Stuff comes from my head and lands on paper, well, actually flows down to my fingers that rapidly hit lettered keys and then a generic document writing programme records this 'stuff' for me.

Something little known: I just ate two packets of crisps (chips) and am feeling incredibly guilty about it, though if I had the oppurtunity would not pass up another packet.

How did you find this place: A series of clicks.

Scariest moment in life: Knocking on a wall in a deserted house and someone/thing knocking back, I eeped. I eeped loud.

Something little known: I spend most of my day spacing out and thinking of various character situations. I never tell the people I know that I enjoy writing.

How did you find this place: Recently joined the site and figured I should get to know some people on it. So, besides reading **, I started browsing forums. I liked the look and sound of this one.

Scariest moment in life: Getting arrested, 4 years back. It was a stupid situation.

I never tell anyone in real life that I like writing either. I'm too embarrased!

Hey, I’m dreamshell (or just Shell). I always like getting involved in new things, groups or otherwise, and writing, talking about, and swapping stories. For a while now the only ones I’ve had up are “Slip” and “The Gods Dream Green Dreams.” Both are older versions that have since gone under slight revisions (and could probably do with a few more) not found on this site and, for different reasons, are decidedly Not For Everyone. Still, read if you dare. =P

I will be forthright about saying this; I am blunt, prone to snark, at times cantankerous and impatient, and something of an elitist when it comes to reading and reviewing. I admit these shortcomings freely. I also won’t pretend to care overmuch about helping others get better at writing for the sake of it—I come here for my own entertainment, after all, above all things. But if I see potential in something, I will usually try and give authentically helpful input.

I’m not against R&R upon request, but let my aforementioned traits act as fair warning. A friend of mine has deemed one of my particular styles of concrit as “shellshocking” due to its scathing nature. In general, I like to think I don’t bother myself with bashing someone needlessly and will ignore entirely stories that don’t “float my boat.” Unfortunately, those that do might be subject to intermittent attention, as RL and my own projects (or attempts at them) tend to keep me from reviewing, sometimes indefinitely.

As I’ve just implied above, I am also pretty awful about following through on my own stories. Thus, those that know me well notice a cyclical pattern of inspiration, enthusiasm/gabbing, writer’s block, and eventual disinterest before moving on to something new. I lack Da Disciprine!. I’m sure if I had more people on my back, I’d get my act together (*Wuh-ink*).

Obviously, I will do my best to conduct myself civilly, but courtesy does occasionally escape me, so please take any moodiness on my part with a grain of salt. I figure maybe if I put these things out there from the get-go, I have a chance of curbing any later displays of impropriety. I, of course, am not out to ruin anyone’s good time and have learned (somewhat) when to leave well enough alone.

Additional Notes: Religion is a bad topic to bring up to me, as I flucuate back and forth between agnostic and atheist and have zero interest in discussing spiritual beliefs, much less affiliating myself with any. Similarly, I am an adamant defender of science and will at best roll my eyes at negative attitudes toward it, and at worst rant and rave against them, especially if one’s opinions show obvious ignorance about the subject matter.

Also, I ramble. =P

(P.S. I’m fond of swearing under normal circumstances, but I’ll try and stay clean in-forum.)

How did you find this place: I dunno actually. I think one day I sat down and said "Hmmmm... I need to join a forum... The Roadhouse! That works." Though it was already pretty dead, then everyone said they were heading for the PL, and I migrated over as well. Then we came back here for whatever reason...

Scariest moment in life: I was home alone and this clearly drunk guy walked around my house knocking on my first floor windows. I went upstairs when I saw him, locked myself in the bathroom with my step-dad's pistol and called the cops and my mommy. It was pretty damn creepy.
