A big hairy guy, looking tired but alive, wanders in among a crowd of people that he doesn't know. He finds a seat at the bar, pulls out a flask, and looks for a familiar face.

Seriously, I just did some cleaning up, and am wondering if anyone can explain what happened while I was away, in the least excitable way possible.

Welcome back to FP, Dolvich. Before I say anything, I'm Dee [or Lemur, depending on who's talking] and joined shortly after you left.

But anyway, long story short is that the regs got kinda tired of not having a mod to clean up a lot of these threads you see. That, and the fact that we weren't getting a whole lot of new people over from the Bar to SPSB didn't help, either. No one knew for sure how long you would be gone, or if you would ever come back, so it was decided that a new forum be created so that we could take care of these issues.

Of course, the Promised Land isn't this place, so when we jumped ship, some of the regs abandoned FP entirely for varying reasons. What's left of us now frequent there.

Anyways... well... basically, this place got waaaay too popular for a forum without a mod... hence the mess it was in, what with more than a handful of random new threads etc. etc. There were a lot of people hanging here down at the off-topic threads a lot, but they got tired of people who only came here for reviews as they were seemingly wanting a more 'social' forum that they could control by being mods themselves (they have left and essentially made a mini version of the RH called The Promised Land). Um... what else? There has been more than a couple of internet fights on here... and... that's it in a nutshell really... ... ...

We had a very short war with the Review Game.

Em… Well, you see, it all started… No, that'll take too long. You missed a ton. :S

Basically this place kept growing, some people didn't like that others only came for reviews and didn't socialize, the place was getting rather clunky with threads, and some wanted mod powers. So exodus they did.

I think that about sums it up. It's probably in the old Shootin' Pool Shootin' the Breeze threads…though…you should probably not read them… ›.›
