"Marie!" she called frantically, seeing her daughter. "Oh Marie, I was so worried! Where were you? Oh, come in."

"Don't worry Miss Labelle," Lewis said, "She was with me, I bought a house for when we get married and showed it to her. By the time we were done it was late and she was tired, she slept there."

He smiled.

He just hugged her tight. "Just promoise you'll give me time to fall in love. Can you do that?"

"I don't know," she answered truthfully, "I don't know if I have time..."

"Why? I'll be here for as long as you need me."

"I know that," Claire said, "I'm talking about my own life. I ran away from my father and he's going to want me back. What if he comes looking for me?"

he touched her hand. "Then hewon't get near you."

"Can you promise me?" she asked, "That you will protect me from the world."

"I can pomoise I'll do everything I can."

He just burried his head in her shoulder, blushing.

"What's the matter, don't you think you are handsome?"

"Not really."

She stared at him then lelaped to her feet. "WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY!! YOU'VE GOT TO THINK GOOD THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF!!"
