"Sounds like a man," Vivian said dryly with a smirk as she handed the picture back. "Where did you say you were from?"

"North Virginia." Vivian realized that she was leaning forward and sat back before standing up. "Well that was a very... interesting chat, Mr. Taylor. Now if you'll excuse me, I have other things to do."

"Well, I wouldn't want to hold you back, Miss March." Nate said. "I hope to see you again soon."

Vivian bit her lip. He'd promised to leave her alone after tonight, and she thought of reminding him so, but instead just nodded and walked away. It was likely that she would see him again- after all, the ship was only so big.... The idea didn't sicken her, so she decided it was alright.

Nate went down to the sailors' cabin where Jeffries was, with a black eye.

"I see you stopped the fight." Nate said, sitting on his bunk.

"Yeah," John Jeffery said, "Not thanks to you."

Brady had barely avoided the little skirmish, even if he had been the one to start it...(lol just bored)

He walked down to the sailors cabins, and overheard two men talking of the fight, not being able to help himself from smiling.

"What are you smiling at man?" John shouted at Brady.

"Huh?" Brady asked, pointing to himself, "Oh nothing, just I thought of something funny."

"Well sit down" John said, "I like to hear funny tales once and a while. Keeps my sprits up."

Brady did not sit but shrugged.

"Well, you see...its a long story. I dont know if you'd understand. Its one of those 'you had to be there' moments," he lied. he was there

John smiled. "Well at least sit and talk."

He held out a hand. "My name's John Jeffery. What's yours"

He shook the hand. "Brady Preston."

"Nice to meet you Brady, in fact it's a real pleasure. Did you happen to see that fight up there? Some crazy fellows gave me a black eye and a nasty cut."

"I heard it," he said, lieing again with a small smile.

"Sorry."

"Bad stuff when we start fighting amoust each other," John said, "I wonder how it started."

"Gee I wonder that too," he said, shrugging.

"Doesn't look like you were in it either," John said smiling, "Not a mark on ya."

"Nice to meet you guys," Brady said, taking a step back.

Oh sorry," Brady said, not noticing his outstretched hand earlier, "I'm from the US. You?"

"So you don't shake, huh?" Nate said, putting his hand down. "Where'ya from?"

"I know that." Nate said. "What state?"

"Sorry I'm out of it," Brady explained, sitting down finally,"Oregon."

"Good place Oregon," John said still smiling.
