Auggie ran after her.

Packrick womdered down the door, his unifrom mud spattered.

Grandma Annie looked at him.

"Well, if it ain't the devil himself!" she grinned.

Lily kept working.

Patrick grinned. "And if it isn't my fav lass."

"I'd get up, but I'm awful sore." she said. "How are ya, boy?"

Lily finished and ran to find the others, barely noticing Patrick.

"Sore," he laughed. "Where's the Mrs?"

"Prob'ly upstairs." Annie said. "I'll tell you, poor thing's been pinin' for you like a dog for a bone."

He sighed. "I hate leaving her."

Auggie grabbed Lilly's hand.

"We all hate seein' ya leave." Annie replied. "Go on in. There's some tea on the counter."

Lily followed after him.

Patrick went inside and poured ome tea.

The pair slipped out the back door.

Kath came down the stairs, a shawl wrapped around her shoulders.

Lily leaned by Auggie.

"What are we doing?"

"Talking a walk," he answered.

"Hello, my darlin'."

Kath immediately searched for the familiar voice and gasped.

"Pat!" she exclaimed, rushing to embrace him. "Oh, Patrick, you're home!"

Lily nodded.

"Won't Maggie be looking for us?"

Patrick ran to her, his green eyes ablaze.

"She won't find us."

Lily giggled and followed him.

Kath wrapped her arms tightly around him, smiling to herself.

"Sorry if I'm a little big."

The pair dashed off into the woods.

"Oh you're beautiful as ever."

Kath did a little spin and laughed.

Lily looked at him curiously.

Patrick gave her a loving grin.

They went to sit on his fav rock.

She sat beside him and held his hand.

"It's awful pretty out here."

Katherine laughed.

Auggie nodded leaning aginst her.

Patrick smiled,

"I missed you." Kath said, going back to hug him again.

She put her head on Aggie's shoulder.

"I miss you more, my angel."

Kath smiled, holding him close.

"How long are you staying?"

"A day or two."

Auggie brushed her hair,

Kath nodded.

"Always too short."

Lily giggled.

Patrick hugged her. "This war will be over quick," he promised. "Lee surrendered yesterday!"

She looked at him.

"Really?" she asked. "Oh, Patrick, are you certain?"

"Iam," he laughed.

Auggie put his arm around Lilly,

Lily smiled up at him.

Kath sighed.

"It can't come soon enough."

Auggie pressed his lips to hers.

Lily kissed him back softly, surprised.
