Lily giggled and blushed.

Patrick's eyes weled up. "She spoke! Yes, its Dada," he said holding her.

Kath smiled forlornly. she didn't want to tell him that Laura had been mumbling little words for a couple weeks now. The baby just rested on his shoulder, not quite awake from her nap yet.

Lily smiled.

"I liked it."

He bounced with her.

Auggie smiled back, his lips ready for another.

Kath kissed him.

"I'll be in the living room."

Jo quickly kissed him, surprised at her own boldness.

"I'll be right behind you."

She smiled and sat on the sofa, getting her knitting out.

Laura started to wake up and watch.

Lily was surprised again, but giggled.

"Wanna play hide and seek?"

Patrick sat beside her.

She grinned and ran to try and find a place to hide.

Kath smiled at her daughter.

"Did you see Grandma out there?"

He ran off to find her.

"She was happy to see you?"

Lily had climbed up to one the top of one of the smaller trees, watching Auggie from above.

"I think so."

Auggie wandered around the frost.

Kath laughed.

"I'm certain she was."

Laura turned to look at her dad and smiled.

A branch broke beneath Lily and she screamed, clinging desperately to the one above her.

"Auggie, help!"

Patrick pushed her tiny nose.

Auggie got underneath her, "Jump!"

The little girl's sleepy face broke into a grin and she buried her face into his shoulder, giggling.

Lily shook her head, feeling too far up off the ground.

"Auggie, I'm scared!"

"Aww I missed you too."

Kath smiled and stroked the baby's long dark hair.

Jo bit her lip, squinted her eyes and let go, screaming the whole way down.

He threw himself down to to break her fall.

She landed rather heavily.

Lily lay there for a moment in shock.

He gritted his teeth.

"Auggie?" she stammered, fearing for a moment she had killed him.

"Its just my arm," he rasped.

She immediately got off of him.

"Oh, Auggie, I'm so sorry!" she said. "We have to get Ma!"

"Its just a arm," he grumbled.

She grabbed his good arm and dragged him insistently towards the house.

He grumbled and went with her.

It's my fault. It's always my fault. I'm always getting him hurt somehow.
