"I was more interested in playing with mud then girls anyway," he laughed.

She nodded.

"You came into class every day with mud on your face." she said with a grin. "Daisy Walker and I used to joke about it."

He laughed. "What'd you call me?"

"What the teacher called you. 'That darned Cross boy'."

He kissed her nose.

She giggled and smiled at him.

"You can imagine my surprise at seeing you."

"Yeah," he laughed.

She stood and looked down at her dress shyly.

He noticed her gaze. "What's on your mind?"

She looked back up at him and gave a little shrug of her shoulders.

"I... I don't know."

"You're too smart not to have thoughts," he said pushing her nose.

She wrinkled her nose and chuckled.

"It's really silly."

"I enjoy a good laugh."

"It's a serious sort of silly." she said, blushing. "If it makes any sense."

"DAMN YOU JACK CROSS!" Jenny shouted.

"What is it love?"

She bit her lip. "I... I don't know what to do."

"Oh, Jack, get her some sweet tea. Something cool."

He laughed.

She chuckled.

"Aggie?"

"Yes?"

"Do you... want to have children?"

"Do you?"

"Perhaps." she said quietly. "Not too many, of course."

"Me too, but we're still young."

She nodded.

"What about work?" she asked. "Mama thinks you should be a doctor, like Jack."

She chuckled.
