He pulled away sming.

"Oh you are the best James," she said kissing him on the lips again, "I never want to leave your side for as long as I live!"

"Nor I yours."

She didn't respond just pressed her lips to his yet again. She didn't want to ever stop.

"Albie tell the nurses to get the wounded back! These shells aren't bullets."

Another shell slammed into the building shaking the very stones,which plumated from the roof to the hall below.

April jumped, pulling away from James and looking around. "Oh James, I think we have work to do," she said softly.

He told them

Feeling the bulding sake, James pulled away but kissed her all the harder.

"I should check on the wounded..." she started to say but then as he kissed her again she just stayed there in his arms.

"Go," he toldHe smiled/

She kissed him one more time then hurried to the side of an injuried man who had been shot in one shoulder.

James ordered the lewis pointed at the artillery flashes,

After what seemed hours to Rory ,the shelling finally stopped.

Then a loud eerie battle-cry sounded outside as British soldiers took up positions.Guns blazed as they laid down covering fire.This covering fire was for some soldiers that were sprinting towards the door.Rory to his horror realised what they were planning to do.

"They plan to blow the door up!" he called. "Fire up the Lewis gun!"

April's heart was pounding as she helped the nurses move the injured to a safer postion where they could get them out quickly if they needed too. She could hear Rory and James shouting outside and it didn't sound good.

James jumped on it, and fired. Then he was hit the shoulder after driving them momently back. Iy felt like a hammer.

Not knowing what had happened to James April called up the stairs. "Should we move the wounded out the back?"

A officer nodded. 'There's some out there."

Quickly April began to work with the other nurses to try and move the injured out of danger.

James grit his teeth as he lay there. "Help."

April's sharp ears picked the sound out from all the others because he loved hearing his voice so much. Whipping around she dashed for the stairs and fell to her knees by James' side. "Hold on," she gasped, "I'm going to get you out of here."

He patted her arm. "I know."

"Can you walk?" she asked putting her arm under him so that she could support some of his weight.

"Yeah, just my shoulder,' he walked with her.

She led him down the stairs and told him to sit on a bed while she got the bandages, ointment the tweasers. "How did you get hit?" she asked.

"Using that brit gun we took."

She dug the bullet out and rubbed in some ointment. "Maybe now you'll be careful with guns you don't know how to use." she said kissing him on the cheek as she reached for the bandages.

"Maybe.." he smiled.

She bandaged him up then patted him on his good shoulder. "You're all set but be careful with what you do with that arm."

He used his good arm to pull her against him. He kissed her head.

She smiled and looked up into his face. "How are you holding up out there? If you need more men I can look to see if any of the injured are well enough to be of help to you."

Rory squeezed another shot at a soldier with explosives. They had tried to zig-zag their way to the door but the Lewis gun made sure all five were killed outright.

"They ain't pullin' back anyway lads.Stay on yer toes"
