On a random note, the minion is becoming a bionic for a day this weekend! She's getting a heart monitoring machine hooked up to her chest to check out a slightly high pulse. She's also getting a lot of blood drawn on the same day, getting a lecture on her eating habits and getting reevaluated for deep depression in suspicion of bipolar disorder with two visits to her psychiatrist a week.

So, she might be held up for a bit when it comes to replies and other stuff.

The minion used to, though now-a-days generally only goes with recommendations or specialized sites for the sake of filtering some of the repetitive plots and unproven yaoi.

Yes, they can be quite annoying, not to mention the sues, trolls and other things that can be found on the site.

Though, there's good stuff there too of course, have yo uread anything by Ash the Wanderer?

I'll admit to starting out in fanfiction. Harry Potter started it when I started hanging around a place called "Sugarquill.net" that a friend had showed me. Later on I found Fanfiction. net but stuck to reading more in the Forgotten Realms genre than anything else (as things in that genre tend to be a bit better written, and more original on the whole), though there were a few silly DBZ ones I got into back in the day. Really, though, after the sites split, I began hanging around Fictionpress more often... Then I took off for a few years. Came back just after they added the forums and have stuck around since.

I find fanfiction on the whole, with a few rare exceptions, to be mostly schlock with pointless plots or seriously raped canon characters, often both. Reading too much, I find, ruins the experience and enjoyment I got from reading/seeing the original work.

I agree that as a whole, fan fiction isn't too good.... but I know some extremely good ones on fanfic.net if you would like, Including Madness, it's sequel is the single greatest fanfic I have ever read...

It's better then some published authors.... Of course, I mostly stick around the Dragon Ball Z section of ffnet so I can't really speak for the others, but the dbz section had been reasonably good since the whole DUO thing.....

I enjoy fan fiction when plot/story are well writen... I write much of my own as well... The minion will contest to having found my "secret stash" of mostly starwars and tolkien fan fic... and I've shaired some with her that I will never publish anywhere, because it's smut, LOL... but I generally don't read other's ff without recomendation usually, because most of it sucks due to lack of charater devlopment (witch I find funny sense you have predetermined charaters, at least for main charaters) and lack of actual story/plot.

Eh, a good story is a good story to the minion, weither it be fanfiction, or RP, or original work. It's when that story starts getting told too often the minion starts getting disgusting.

lol. Just when I thought I would finally get back into the pot. I realize something. First off, not only are my semester exams, and graduation stuff coming up in may going to impede my progress, but the simple fact that I get my second job soon (if I have lil time now, it will go to almost none, so I wont bother with haflassedness on my part). So Mindwarp, and Marjorie, I am sorry to say that after today, I will no longer be on the pot for some time so I will try to conclude "this" part of our story, so that your characters are freed up. Hopefully some time later il be able to come back and finish this. (p.s. WOOT! :D I got a lil scholarship to the Texas State Technical College in Waco!!! :P NOW just to get accepted... ) anyways, hope ya'll have a good one, and sometime in summer il be back... So for the meantime, enjoy yourselves without my crappy plot holes, and horrible characters being out of the picture.

I love you all. And I respect you. And that's why i wouldn't do this if it wasn't last resort. I need to get back on top of my uni life. I need to prioritise. That's why I'll be gone for a month or so. At least till I'm back on track. If you have a character with me do what you will with them. They still exist... so if you want to play them, feel free. Just don't give up on me. For those of you I talk to on IM services, I'll still be in touch, I just won't be talking in uni hours. I shall only be keeping one character active and that is Jade/Quinn from Quest 8 in the Melting Pot. I needed someone to keep me sane and I'm sorry, but only that thread I can count on at the moment.
