Topic: How Our Characters Came To Be
Some of the characters I've seen/read about on this forum thus far are very fascinating. Which leads me to this question: how did you go about creating your character(s)? Did you just make him/her/them up on the spot when you first wanted to be a part of this forum, or did you already have him/her/them made before this forum came to be? What were your first ideas to creating your character(s), and what changes (if any) have you made to him/her/them since then?

This is a very intresting set of questions... I think I'll bite.

1) How did you go about creating your character(s)? Did you just make him/her/them up on the spot when you first wanted to be a part of this forum, or did you already have him/her/them made before this forum came to be?

-Metis: The order, kingdome, and world that he comes from started out as a long running D&D world that my sister and I have created (still incompleat) in detail. Latter I started writing a book based in this world, and Metis is one of the maine charaters from that book. (So far I've writen 5 chapters, but the hole book is being rewriten... for a taste of the first chapter see my writing... do bair in mind that it will be mostly changed sometime next year after the rewrite accurs.)

-Emily is one of the maine charaters in a book idea that's been floating around in my head for some time, but has not so far been put down on paper. (this is part of the reason why she's some times inconsistant, and awakard... she's still underdevlopment)

-Drengal: He is one of my FAVOIRATE ever D&D charaters that I've played... Sad to say he's also a dead charater who hasn't yet been resurected, except here.

-Ember is from the same book/world as Metis. She is EVIL to the core, and even WAY more so than anything you'll be able to see in here, because this forum is to stay teen-rated. Let's just say there are many ways to torture people and Ember revels in all of them. She is also Metis' mother... his background does say he's a 1/2 Elf, and he doesn't know who his parents are. How delishous is that. Also... once upon a time Ember was Marothees, and Marothees was a Cleric of Methesious, and Cleric to the Order of Light.

-My Jedi: Mayli and Trace were made up as sort of a joke... and I didn't expect them to end up on a quest... but there they are now, LOL.

-Metheron and his gang are from the same world and Ember and Metis, but not from the book... they are from my D&D side of things.

-Loki was origonally my brother's charater, he was playing him on my account... but he didn't have time because of finales so I took over him, and his personality is changing as I decide who he is.

2) What were your first ideas to creating your character(s), and what changes (if any) have you made to him/her/them since then?

This question I don't want to answer... It would give away too much of the charaters that I want to save for "in game" discovery if it ever comes out. ;)

Well Ty Rose-eyes is the alias of one of my characters. She is not even a dragon but a demon who happens to be the only heir to the throne of all evil. SO I changed alot on her, but she still looks the same. Paige is actually from a dream I had a few months ago that I am now basing a book off of b/c it was so realistic. She is actually me in the dream. Her character is only slightly changed. Drake I made up just for the heck of it all....um... I think that should cover everyone. Wait no it doesn't! I actually combined my character's alias and another character from a whole different book to make this version of Ty. That is were you get the dragon and the eggs from. Even though the eggs were not my idea it is kinda neat how everything played out.

M.'s quite an old character of mine. She's been around since D&D 1st ed. rules. I've always had an interest in mythology and religions. I am, among other things, an ordained minister.

Rydek is actually a character from a video game (ssshhh....I don't want them to come cart him away...M. would be heartbroken). Anyway, I've actually "rolled" him as a real AD&D character, and he travels as M.'s mate now. Arenal is fairly new and frankly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with him. I think that he's probably going to be much more of the "stick up the butt", perhaps comically so, goody-two shoes than M. is but I really haven't decided yet. Our quest really needed a cleric and for pen&paper purposes, he's really only about 3rd level. For these purposes, I've rolled him to be on a par with M. & R.

Evil Minion Number 2

My characters usually go months being developed before I ever experiment with them in a RP, and see if I like them enough to keep them. I usually just take concepts In like and fuse them together.

Demon + wise aliek + anti-sue + funny horns = Artis

You get the picture.

Artis used to be a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan character, for two days before I turned him into a side-kick for a dearly-departed (Or, rejected) character. His main design was to be a side character, an influence to make the main look better. The fire stuff was mostly because I was a BIG fan of elementals then. He was originally a celestial tortured to the point of becoming a demon.

He was originally 14-years-old, had auburn hair in a mushroom cut, and he had “Wolverine-claws.” He was also quiet, well mannered, and shy. That soon changed when I read the Bartimeaus books and Inu-Yasha mangas, and figured how much fun characters with come backs are.

As the year went on, his hair steadily started to grow, spurting a joke about him 1000-years later taking the job of Rapunzel. He started to become the character everyone loved to hate, the body bag for physical humor like running into trees, being covered in water and withering in pain for some dirty comment, being kicked in the balls for burning something, getting shot in the face for calling a girl ugly, the list goes on and on. We had a poll for his hair color, and silver won out over auburn, pink, white, and blue.

Well, as time went on, I started to grow annoyed with him just being a punching bag, and started developing him in a serious sense. I changed him to a half demon due to the changes made in my world, gave him your classic angst past, and started designing a story I can’t say much more about with out spoiling too much.

For ages now, he’s been a character I’ve loved due to his sarcasm, his ego, his weakness, and his all around… Arty-ness. He’s been dubbed an anti-sue by many, has several fan girls among friends at school, even with the “no sex” rules I put on him.

~~~
Inu-Yasha style demons + anti Telcom + culture gap = Saria
Saria was originally a princess to support the same story Artis originally appeared in, and was strongly influenced by the Inu-Yasha style demon. She went from a wolf, to a husky, to a coyote, back to a wolf when I was trying to be original, but found myself in love with the idea of her fluffy white hair. She’s always been a little girl, just because I love cute things.
Suddenly, one day, one of my friends suggested Rping with 2 characters a piece, and I decided to stick Artis with Saria. She was quick to evolve from a princess to a stray after that, and she was quick to become Artis’ unofficial sidekick. Also, I figured it would be fun to have a mute character who couldn't understand english, and that's why she dosnm't know english.
It wasn't until a year ago I started thinking of her as an independant being from Artis when she ended up sererated from in another RP. She ended up following another character (a barbarian named Gale) and got taught a bit of english form him. That was when I decided she was much easier and fun to use with only a little English known. The RP ended up quite tragically with almost every character BUT Saria dead, but it was still a mile marker in her developement.
Skaoi
I rolled Ithil'Dae (translation 'Moonshadow') over 20 years ago. No clue which version that was. Hubby and I have an entire world and pantheon going...and 7-8 characters almost as "old" as 'Dae. She's originally a mage/thief, but I'm amending that for her story.
Niall is new and I wrote him up for 'Dae. She was lonely. LOL. He's going to teach her how to be sneaky. Their original meeting is not under the best of circumstances.
Skaoi is also new - created for a fanfiction. She's on the sister site, but I won't post the link 'cause it's M-rated. Look for it if you want. Leave a review if you read.
I guess I'll bite to my own questions, lol.
When I first made Angel Macleod two years ago, he was different from the one some of you know today. The first thought that came to my mind was "This guy's gonna be one of the greatest thieves around." So, my first design was an elf, with long, white hair, a white sleeveless coat with black attire underneath, green eyes, and scars all over his arms. I armed him with two whips and a snake sword, and I made him able to cast spells of the lightning element. I used him as a cameo appearance for one of fanfiction's author's stories. Then I never used him since.
Now, come two years later, and I come across this forum. I didn't know which of my many characters to use for it. Then I remembered Angel and brought my notes on him out. The first thought that came to my mind was "Wow...looking back now, this character bites. What was I thinking?" So, I changed his race from elf to half-elf, I took away his whips and snake sword, I took away his lightning magic and instead made him a light Blademaster, I made his eyes different colors, lengthend his hair a bit, added sleeves to his coat and gave him a background. I think he turned out much better than my first concept of him.
~~~

Cyrus and Tobias Moondymond were actually OCs I made for a Tales of Symphonia fanfic a year ago (which I never got around to posting, and you'll soon find out why). Originally, Cyrus's name wasn't Cyrus, it was Siegfried, and I had him wielding katanas instead of scimitars. He was also a half-elf and a user of fire and ice magic, like he is now. As for Tobias, his appearance was pretty much the same, only I had him wielding a spear instead of a zweihander, and he used wind and lightning magic. And the two weren't bounty hunters; they were mercenaries.

Now, a year later, I decided to use them for this forum, but not until I made some changes. So, I changed Siegfried's name to Cyrus, turned him into a human, and had him wield scimitars (to better fit this fantasty theme). For Tobias, I took away his spear and gave him a gigantic zweihander and took away his wind and lightning magic and had him use black magic (for it better suited his appearance). Then I changed their backgrounds a bit and made them bounty hunters.

~~~
Some time after re-designing Angel Macleod, I felt that he was missing something. Then it came at me like a sledge hammer; he was missing a lost love. I thought back to one of my RPGs and remembered one of the characters I played, which was a Rogue, and had a past somewhat (but not entirely) similar to the one I have up here. Aerynn is loosely based on that character. So basically, I created her from scratch, with a little inspiration to help me.
~~~

Model, schmodel...Ark was made from scratch. Actually, I have to thank BattleLust for urging me to create him, and for helping me with the basics...after that, I just went wild. I'm still developing his background.

And that's all you need to know!;)

Reman and Vrenis stem from the fact that I wanted to make a story that doesn't center arround an "uber" character. Everyone and their brother has a charater that is the mostest, the coolest, the hottest, the powerfullest whatever, and honestly it was starting to get bland.

So I give you Reman Grinar. He's old, he's cranky, he's a soldier but he's horible at his job. (Check the last battle in the quest thread. He spent most of it knocked out :D) And better yet, he's also a deserter with horible survival skills being tracked by knights, soldiers, and assassins.

And folowing this trend, the story needed an equally non-sue/stu female co-lead. And so I give you Vrenis. Her hair is not "dark raven tresses" she's not deftly-skilled with any weapon to include an alarm clock, and she is not the hottest chick in the story. She's a cow. Literally.

In combat, Reman survives using sheer guile and determination, while Vrenis is pretty much brute strength. I didn't realise it until just now, but that's a direct reversal of the male/female stereotype in stories. They are also, when it comes right down to it, very very bad at fighting. They complement each other enough to survive, but in all likelyhood they're survival is more dependant on luck and prayer than actual skill.

They also aren't your typical personalities. Rem is very, very caloused most of the time. In other circomstances he would probably be the "bad guy." Vrenis has the potential to be the angsty, emotional character in the group, but doesn't have the horible clishe past necessary to accomplish this.

Other details, such as the weapons and equipment, are the product of much research and a little pure fabrication. Vrenis's armor is just about the only non-researched part. Her bow and sword, allong with Rems weapons and armor, are all researched and chosen carefully. As a result they're fairly realistic, but not very spectacular at all. Lana stemmed from a love of mysteries and the romanticized gumshoe, Private Eye, etc. (I wanted to be a private Investigator at one point, lol.) The loss of an eye was because I thought the eyepatch look was cool. I decided that she wouldn't wear it for no reason, though, because it would be superfluous. So I decided that she was following someone and he took her eye.

As for the rest of her looks, I went from the idea of a plain looking woman who lives in a desert city with little spending money. Her clumsiness was always there, but only recently for the legitimate reason of her depth perception and range of vision being a bit off due to the missing eye.

As for her background, I wanted her to have a legitimate reason to be good when the rest of the city is corrupt. So she came to live there late in her childhood. Her father was a merchant who travelled all over the place with her for most of her early childhood, then decided that this city might be a good place to settle his business. To give reason for her choice to take such a low-paying and dangerous job, he was murdered just as she was old enough to set out on her own. I have no clue what happened to her mother.

As for her work at the Fuzzy Dolphin... It started out as a place to gather information only. As proprietor of a place where shady deals were closed, Tabitha might hear a lot of things that might prove useful. But Lana, being perpetually poor, would have to pay in chores. It later became whenever her money ran out completely so she could get some food in her belly. Tabitha went from shrewd, tough-as-nails informant, to shrewd mother lion with an exasperated air.

Most of Lana's personality has evolved on this site.

Lana's name, hate to admit, is derived from a certain character from Tomb Raider. Three guesses who. XP

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My first idea for Anya was "an assassin with a heart". Efficient, yet with a human soul hidden beneath the surface somewhere. She would have killed someone at an early age and been accepted into the Thieves' Guild by the, at that time, not nearly so detestable Rasghetti. She meets someone who draws her out. Rasghetti, like a father to her, lets her go. Blah-di-blah. The end.

Over the years I've reworked her, eventually deciding to have the guy who drew her out die... And then have it be her that killed him. Rasghetti became the detestable lump he is today. And I thought it would be interesting for her to become a nun. Basically, she sought sanctuary and they took her in, no questions asked.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mezzik popped into my head one day when reading through the D&D Monster Manual about the different types of dragons. 'A dragon that can appear in human form? Cool,' I thought, 'Won't someone be surprised if their friend suddenly changes into a large scaly lizard...' Then I did a drawing of what a dragon in human form might look like, dark hair, slightly reptilian eyes, and a smirk that clearly said 'If only you knew...'

I picked the name Mezzik out of thin air, then decided that he needed a name that sounded more dragonish and long. So I called him Mezzisander, and gave his human last name as Sandros.

After that, he was set aside... though he was always somewhere in the back of my head... waiting.

Somehow, he went from being a rather rogueish fellow who likes to run around in human form because he finds them to be amusing, to a protector, the guardian of a little valley of golden waving grass, though he still kept some of the rogueishness. He would meet a little girl all alone and become her friend... Then a red dragon would come and burn much of the fields, and kill many of the people living in the valley. Mezzik would fight and kill the dragon, but disappear for a few years to rest off his injuries, after which he would return to find the little girl he befriended all grown up. They would fall in love, etc.

The Mezzik I had in mind when I first brought him into the tavern was the original Mezzik, the rogue who enjoys the company of humans. After he met Emily, however, I decided that maybe I should show his other aspects as well, and made it 200 years in the future, after the little girl he met in the field that day was long dead.

Things that have been added to him since he's been here are his two older brothers, Blerinsander and Trelsander, his Blerinsander's mate Andreadora (whose back story I'm toying with in my brain at the moment), and his unfortunate kinship to Lerimsander the White. Also, his tendency for anger and depression.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Geoff, I totally made up on the spot, though I've decided I like him. I wanted to create a link to Lana's other workplace, and thought that perhaps Tabitha would need a little help to run the place. I didn't like the idea of your typical tavern wench because every tavern you see has a wench. So I created Geoffrey instead, giving him the skills needed for him to do his job.

His name comes from Geoffrey Chaucer. I think I was watching "A Knight's Tale" when I created him, lol.

((Roger: Oi Rem! What’s wrong with my Zweihanders? :p))

Ahhh…where to start…

Roger is extremely old for an idea, been in my head for about eleven years! (For the record I’m nineteen). I copied him off Roger the Dodger in the Beano comics. About three years later my friend and I refined the idea and for some strange reason the surname Kingsworth seemed to stick.

I remember there was an arch-nemesis called “Evil Teacher” who was (you guessed it) his English teacher; and there was this kooky old wizard who used to appear to the kid when it was time to save the world…(sigh…good times, lol). These characters have been drastically changed to suit the present plot.

It isn’t immediately obvious, but he is a character heavily influenced by Harry Potter. In fact at a point in time I was worried about lawsuits should I publish a book. I scrapped most of the useless stuff and decided to use the plot and title for a separate story I was developing. This story, called Crystaldon, featured all the aspects I included in the Realms, Magic and Creatures section.

The idea of Roger carrying an Zweihander while swathed in a black cloak has always appealed to me, so when I watched advent children this year the only real difference was to give him another one…I admit he’s quite the Gary Stu, but he isn’t invincible by any stretch of the imagination.

Ooooo... Alright, here's the history of one of my major characters, Kazuki Yamashita.

Kazuki started out as a thousand-year-old swordsmith named Daisuke that possessed the legendary twin swords, Masamune and Muramasa. His twin brother, Kazuya, had been the best swordsman the world had ever seen. Kazuki had been the original creator of the first Soul Blades (Masamune and Muramasa) but made a mistake in their composition, resulting the his brother’s dementia. Because of the adverse effects of the Muramasa, Kazuya had lost the ability to distinguish between friend and foe, resulting in the death of Daisuke’s wife and children. In an effort to rectify his mistake, Daisuke embarked on a mission to kill his twin brother. On the rain-soaked night of their final confrontation, the two began an epic swordfight (oh yeah!). Kazuya could have easily killed his brother, but for some reason, he had given his brother a little opening in the final skirmish. Daisuke took the opening and killed his brother, who died with a tired smile on his face.

Eventually, this story was thrown out in favor of two much younger characters, although they were still twins. I changed Daisuke’s name to Kisuke and made him less wise and more morose. In addition, Kisuke was sort of mopey and less refined than Kazuki is. Kisuke also possessed a good deal of power because he was a Dichotomy and also a true Lygris. In this storyline, Kazuya was already dead and Kisuke was searching for some possible link between his twin’s death and Skywing. In the current version, Kisuke’s name was changed again into Kazuki. In addition, he’s more mature, articulate, less powerful, and able to control his feelings than Kisuke had been. Kazuki is now a Demi-Fraegal instead of a true Fraegal and he's lost his Dichotic powers because I didn't want these super-charged idiots running around. This works out fine because the Fraegal are no longer an entirely different species but one related to humans. I also brought Kazuya back to life, but he was now an angry Skywing test subject like both Kisuke and Kazuki had been. Finally, Kazuki and Kazuya are no longer twins; instead, Kazuya is the older and far aggressive one.

------------------------------

Here's another one about a character, Alexis XII, I haven't introduced yet but I really like her so I'm including her anyway.

Alexis started out as a very vulnerable, but still very physical, character named Natasha. Later, I decided that the name didn’t fit her well so I changed her name to Alexis. This plays well her new role as Leon’s psychologist/psychiatrist of sorts because Leon parallels Alexis with Alexia, his dead sister. (Also, Alexia’s original name had been Alexis, but this would have been confusing so I changed it. Alexia had started out as an older male character named Alexei who had been Leon’s father and had detested him. I scrapped this idea as far too cliched so I changed Alexei into Alexia, thus creating an interesting situation with Leon’s mental state. I think it’s quite easy to to write some H-cest doujinshi with this material, nyah...)

-------------------------------

While I'm at it, here's one about Dante III.

Dante had originally been older but he had always remained short. I forgot his original name but it definitely wasn’t Dante. He had been much kinder and his role as a teacher is quite new. Originally, I had considered killing Dante off around the middle of the story but decided against it. The decision to make him celibate (because he's basically a perpetual kid) was a bit random but it makes for some very funny scenes where perfectly formed girls are handling him and he’s not responding in any way, shape, or form. Like the thing with Alexia and Leon, Alexis and Dante have a complex relationship as well. It would also be interesting to see what a H-cest doujinshi with these two would look like.

Ok I read and I'm curious so heres mine.

Satan - currently staring in Really Psycho Day was originally part of a English project on juxtaposition and I chose evil. The story the surrounded it was the beginnings of the sequel to Psycho and came from the idea of the mortal the devil and the angel saving the world. The songs I had at that time were Bad to the Bone, Downfall (by Matchbox 20) and It's my life. I chose to update the big man based on Men in black which is one of the movies I was watching at the time I was collaborating info.

I continued it afterwards because i was having trouble getting past certain points and I wanted to get past that - then I got into it realised I had too much backstory so I created Psycho. The radio helps.

Essentially, though Satan was to be the anti-me (which didn't happen - he's something else.). As for what he's been/ will be the only thing that's changed is that originally he was perfectly fine (no shoulder probs).

So Tada.

Since I like to tell some stories, in particular my characters, I'd like to divulge what I have to say about Belle.

Belle started out years back (during maybe 2001 before ‘freshman’ year), but under a different name and a different appearance altogether, though the characteristic 'essence' remained consistent. Like with all my characters, she started out as a teenager sort of character. This was during a time I noticed a prevalence of strong, tomboyish female characters. I felt I would have wanted a change, to have a female who is rather feminine but lacks the overtly shallow characteristics associated with 'ultra girly' characters. Hence, Belle became more gentlewoman than girl, so I upped her age from fifteen to her early twenties for maturity. Belle has always been affiliated with plants and flowers since day one.

To avoid accusations of creating a 'Mary Sue' character, I had to take away certain talents that made her unbelievable. I took away Belle’s musical prowess (being able to play the harp, guitar, and being able to sing), as I felt they weren’t necessary. Though she still has a love-interest, the ‘damsel in distress’ was downplayed; despite I initially made that Belle should not fit the archetype- she can hold out on her own, in other words, even though she is a ‘lady’.

I made Meval and Dayven up on the spot actually. No long planning, no thinking out story, no nothing. I kind of sat down and my fingers started moving. I decided on the characters -after- I made my first post. I kinda tossed the names out there or else I would have chosen something cooler but I really didn't think I'd be doing much with them...I was just kinda decided I want to write something so I made a random little paragraph and tossed it out there. I decided more on the characters as I went along...like how they met and why Meval sticks close to her abusive partner so loyally n such...really, it's all a work in progress for me. e.e;; Most of my characters just kinda pop up outta the blue and develop as I go along...they usually change a lot by the end of everything. Like Ehver! She's my NWN character...COMPLETELY different then how she was originally and I -love- her! A day without roleplaying with Ehver is wasted indeed...I'm half tempted to make her on here and play her in the Tavern. XD

I felt I had to post here, even if it's the least updated...

Miresa: (currently not in use) She entered the tavern a while back. I, sadly enough, made her up on the spot as well. True I gave her only about a day's thought, but I still count that as last-minute. Yet, going back, I did have an anti-social gothic vampiress character in the back of my mind for quite some time, but she'd never fully developed. Perhaps that was why Miresa didn't last very long. She's not a good roleplay character, seeing as she rarely wants to interact with anyone. I first thought up her kind of character when imagineing an entirely different story, one having to do with Harry Potter in fact, and she just kind of lived in that area for awhile. I never got around to really writing about her.

~

Maia: My awesome Syren is completely different. Her development goes back for more than a year! I actually have a plot and story for a book planned out for her, and ideas thought up ages ago revolve around her. I figured that since I've been toying with her so long, that this RP board would be an excellent place to really get her character officially started. She is in fact, based of some anime art I came across at some point, (lol, what kind of inspiration is that?!) She's been living in my imagination ever since, and I've written some about her, more than Miresa anyway.

Jean Le'Yette, known now as Bloody Jean Pinofet, popped into my head one day, the captain of a ship (perhaps the one that Lana would eventually escape the city on) with some piratical tendencies. A good woman...

She's changed a LOT since then, most of it recently. In fact, the only thing that is the same from her original concept to now is her penchant for a curved sword, red and black in her style of dress, her smallish stature, and her profession.

Her character transformed for me one day when I wrote a one-page peice just to reflect a mood. (I do that sometimes, lol.) It was her, beaten bloody and tied to the mast of a ship with smoke coming up from below, plotting her revenge. At first I was thinking, poor her... Then another thought occurred to me.... What if she deserved it? There are too many "good" pirates out there, the romantic swashbucklers... Why not an evil one for once?

So I gave her a hot temper to go with her fiery red hair... Then changed her hair to red-brown because there are too many fiery red-heads around, lol. I also gave her a penchant for cruelty, accentuated by the cat o' nine tails she carries always at her hip. Gave her my mother's eyes because I don't have NEARLY enough brown eyed characters, though it's one of the most common traits.

Her limp was the result of that earlier beating that I thought up.

The bombs... Well, I hate to admit it... But they're the result of reading the Rurouni Kenshin manga, the part where Sanosuke meets with an old friend who's stockpiled a whole closet full of homemade bombs with which to blow up the government buildings... I'm like, 'COOL! Let's give her an edge on the competition!' LOL.

The drinking... Well all pirates drink, heehee. I made her a mean drunk because she's hot-tempered to begin with.

The need to be alpha... How ELSE can she keep a crew in line, little thing like she is? She exudes a commanding presence.

Despite all her bad qualities, she allows her crew greater freedom to do as they please than other captains, and she only takes a slightly bigger share than the rest of the crew. Not to mention, they bring in larger hauls thanks to Jean's reputation, so they all get richer under her. If it wasn't for that, she'd have been mutinied against and lynched long ago, lol.

((Oh, on a sidenote, somehow the name Jean Le'Yette transferred over to Robyn in disguise. The change from Jean to Jelra was purely for this site, to hold back on confusion.))

Namok is a character from my series Legend Chronicles, which sadly, cannot be posted on this website for another month or so. The files for the story on my computer got corrupted, and the only other copies I have are at school, so I can't get them until school starts.

Namok is the "Silver Sage" which is a term meant to describe the leader of the Sage's Council, a high-grade mage's communication and negotiation organization. Think of the Council as a UN for magic users, and Namok is the Secretary General.

Namok uses Kemos as a traveling alias. He has a pretty big profile, so when traveling he can't let himself be known.

Krosk and Maya are Namok's parents, with Krosk as a human and Maya as an elf. Krosk was a general, so he wasn't in a position where he could be reprimanded for this, but Maya was no more than the little sister of a military official (in fact, her brother disapproved of her marriage) and therefore was kicked out of her home town. They raised Namok together, both teaching him things that would lead him into the apprenticeship of the "Bronze Sage", Namok's nameless predecessor and master. Eventually, he succeeded him, and rules over the Council for the entire story.

He deals with a necromancer named Necril right off the bat. Necril was a big player in the Council, and was famous for his trickery and foul play. I would tell you more, but I want you to read it for yourself.

Namok has been a favorite RP character of mine for a while, since, after all, he is skilled at both melee skills and magic, making him good for most stories.

Evil Minion Number 2

Fire elf + weird half breeds + revenge plots = Okal

Well, once there was a mommy elf and a daddy elf, and they got REALLY bored at a festival one day...

All joking aside, Okal's relitively new to the crew, only about a year old. He was made for the sole reason of showing a friend the basics of a fictional race, and I ended up growing to love him.

Don't remember his original concept, but I think he's the character who's changed the least in terms of appearance over time. His past was made due to the idea of showing the flip side to a fairly cliche story. Child has horriable wrong done ot them, and returns the favor to 'avenge' the fallen. I've always hated this idea in fantasy, since that's basically the fuel of any family feud.

Half demon + ugly evil things = Vei-Mess

Vei-mess came into play when I got sick and tired of seeing pretty and smart demonic half breeds. And espically the females, god, I have seen so many drop dead sexy female half-demons, it makes you wonder if people only create them to have kinky fantasies (no pun intended.) So I sat down, thought about what makes a gal pretty and desireable, took those away, added on a few cool factors, and got Vei-mess. Her name, well, I just borrowed it from a friend (with permision.)

Bad ass + color = Cliff Hanger

If I could say there is one concept I have pride in, Cliff is that concept. I wrote reasoning behind his creation somewhere else, and I'll dig it up later. But, his orgins were on the MMORPG 'City of Heroes' as a super hero, a generic bad ass, with bright clothing and a bright green trenchcoat. His name in there is Tint, with a villain version of him named Taint.

Really, been looking for plans for this concept for ages, and still can't find any, so I decided to drag Tint in here and see if any interaction ideas come up. His name was just a sillt idea made up on spot, since one can't be called "Tint" in a fantasy-based RP.

Heeheehee. Travis A. Sittingduck developed out of a conversation I had with Evil Min one day. He's basically a sort of parody character. Here's how it went:

Step one: Think of a cliche, then turn it on its ear.

I thought that it would be silly to make a seer character who never saw anything more important than what someone would have for breakfast the next day. Added on were 'the mysterious amulet of power' that actually does nothing but change colors, and 'the wise old mentor' who was actually a doddering old fool that never taught Travis anything besides the properties of various fungi, which Travis never paid any attention to because it was boring, lol. Instead of dying of old age, or being killed by some evil overlord, he choked on a mushroom. Apparently he never even taught Travis the Heimlich maneuver, rofl.

Step two: Figure out what he looks like.

The orange robe was EM's Idea becuase no one wears such an ugly color. Then we gave him some of the normal 'callow youth' characteristics and moved on.

Step three: The name.

Ah yes... The name... I wanted the first name to be a somewhat typical name and after a little debating, we came up with Travis. The last name I wanted to be a little wacky and totally uncool for a character to have, the opposite of all of the 'strong' names people give their characters... Names like "Foeslay, Windstorm, Firepaw, Swordslinger, etc. etc." The first thing that popped into my head was "Sitting duck" aka "dead meat". EM suggested "A." as a middle initial so that it could read like "Travis, a sitting duck." I love his name. It's so silly, just like the rest of him.

I've made a few more characters since my last post here. Might as well explain how they came into the forum:

Sarai Phargo:

Her coming into existence is a bit lame. The only reason she was ever brought up was for the sake of a game. SG, PF, SAP and I all wanted characters in the tavern, and have this small plot. Unfortunately that never came about, but one of the four we made up is still in the forum; Sarai. I was getting tired of all my serious, emo characters, so I wanted to make this happy, completely optimistic character. So I thought up the daughter of Laurance Phargo, and after I began writing about her, my attachment to this little girl grew with every day. She's the type that can cheer people up, be realistically annoying, cute, bouncy, naive...sometimes I wish I had made her older so that she could realistically show up in more places, and not have that, "too young" factor get in the way. But, that's how it happened, and I still enjoy her alot. She's so normal, compared to all my other characters.

Tisar Sootpaw Firetail...etc.

This huge kitty was also made up for a game, where we needed like twenty uber-powerful characters. That's part of the reason he's so invincible, but another reason is that his character demands power. He couldn't be himself and not have any cool abilities. SG said I should make up a power-hungry, more villianous than not type "hero," so I sat back and tried to get my mind working on something that wasn't cliche. Slowly, Tisar came to mind. I've always loved cats, they have a cool pride to them that just makes me smile. I wanted to have a cat-like character, I guess, and it wasn't long after I made that decision that my king kitty stepped from the folds of creativity. He's one of my favorite characters, I don't know why I didn't enter him into the tavern sooner.

Charly:

Well, Charly is from Maia's story. I thought that her story, (which I am slowly working on) was much to serious, so I wanted to make this comic relief for the sake of the reader's entertainment, and so that I can get better at different types of characters. I had a lot of help from PF and SG on Charly. We conjured him up when swimming one day. I'm still having trouble thinking so comfortably about this character. He's supposed to be witty and smart-aleck, but I myself am not, so I really need to think before talking through him. That's half the reason I often express the little guy through expression, not words. Probably it'd help if I read more books with his type of character, or watched more movies. Anyway, that's Charly.

Raven came about as a concept. I wanted to mark a dark, slightly nostalgic, wizardess. I built Raven off that concept. I fitted her to match my world and gave her a backstory that supported her personality. Tane was there from the beginning, but at first I hadn't decided his personality. He evolved to complement Raven's personality.

Ivan... I made Ivan as the core of barbarism. Someone who is everything savage and perverted that we despise and avoid. There's a little bit of Ivan in everyone, it's the part that likes hitting people. He's the concentrated essence of ferral savagery.

Rodgard the longsword.

I made Rodgard as an experiment. Enserric the longsword (If you've played Neverwinter Nights you might know who i'm talking about) gave me the idea. But I made Rodgard have a mentoring personality instead of a snide one. He's the sword that's been everywhere with everyone and he'll teach you a lot, IF your willing to take advice from a sword. I really want to see how having a character that augments someone else's and relies on them will work. I'm going to have to partner up with whoever has their PC pick Rodgard up.

Wow, two...no THREE more characters to explain here...kewl.

Diego de Muerte

Hehe, he is also from that 20-heroes game that I made Tisar up for. His character was much more extreme for that. It was only after SG thought Mark Kole up that Diego joined in that background and became the hateful trigger-happy guy I'm playing today. I had a lot of fun thinking Diego up. He's a little bit based off Tuco from "The Good, Bad and Ugly." At least he has the same filthy Mexican feature. I often have to remind myself of how he's really feeling deep down, what motivates such a dirty person. The only thing I sort of regret about Diego is his tendency to cuss in practically ever sentence, lol.

Roshanara

The idea for having a sad genie character has been in the back of my mind, forgotten and neglected for many years. I'm glad I finally got to bring it out in Roshanara, and yet add a sort of funny twist to it. At first I thought I could see the experienced very miserable prisoner type, but then that wouldn't be any fun, worse than Maia. So then, in a discussion with MW, (a big thanks to him for helping me out with this character,) I thought, hey not why have a NEW genie? Someone who hardly knows anything and really sucks at being powerful. So then a background was worked around that, and also they way her magic works was made in a way so that it's reasonable to think that she can't work with it well. Then we had to decide about the object she so vitally depends on. I didn't want it to be the stereotype ring/lamp/bottle, because I wanted to redefine the genie as best I could. Why not have it be any object? When I first thought up the child's toy, I thought it was just random, but now I see it has a sort of creepy strangeness to it. Once that was settled, I then spent a good 1 or 2 hours looking up genies, their origin, the proper term for them, blah blah blah, and hey Presto! Roshanara entered the next day.

Sylvia:

Simple. She was thought up for the sake of being a funny master. Old and cranky versus the young and submissive. I still really like her even if she's currently out of the picture for now. I'm sure she'll come in later.

Quinn, quinn quinn. What to say about Quinn Shadows?

Well in the beginning there was Joe a husk of a nice, completely normal and completely nerdy. And he was to be the host of my great anti-romance epic. And then he found love. And I couldn't stand that. I mean he was supposed to be the unlovable hero. So I thought to myself, what to do. 3 days later Quinn was born, Joe's subconcious - interfereing, impulsive romantic without the self-roimantic impulses he went fine. Until the LP died in a ball of badly written flames. So I dusted him off and shoved him in Romance RP. He found love, grew as a person and I liked so much that when Corlin and Keida reached that stage it was natural to have him there. I mean they existed in the same world, why wouldn't he help? And so I can now have him grow in an action setting. Watch out world - my alter-ego (Actually he's more and more like me every day) is staying around awhile.

Maria and the fish came after a slight bout of watching the many Disney movies that I missed in my dreary post-Communist childhood (alas, I only had a bootleg video of "Beauty and the Beast", which I loved to bits.)

It suddenly occured to me, at some point, to reverse the whole "animal companion" clichee, and make the animal companion be the one who runs the show. Maybe make it something small and cute, helpless in appearance. Then I remembered a story about a golden fish that fulfilled the wishes of a poor fisherman-- it was a Russian fable, if I'm not mistaken. Or was it a ballad? Ah, I don't know, but that's when the idea clicked.

The fish, I decided, would be very unhappy with the job. He'd end up in it by accident and be thorougly bitter about it, always trying to subvert Maria and constantly insulting her. He just grew from there, into the self-absorbed, mean-spirited little fish with big ego he is now.

Maria, on the other hand, was pretty much a blank slate when I started "The Bizarre Diaries". However, I did enjoy writing about her grievences against the fish and her refusal to give up her grand ol' adventure just because the fish had it in for her. She's having fun, really she is, she just doesn't show it because the fish would try to stop it.

:D I love writing this stuff. OK let me explain another three;

Aaron Sollis: He's supposed to be the hero type, but he's had little chance to show it. I thought him up for the sake of a quest, because it was too chalk full of villains, and part of me regrets throwing my poor character in there. I've never been good with guy characters, so my grip on Aaron is rather weak. But I know he's developed, some, ever since I've entered him.

Teresa Daison: Ah, she is one of my favorite characters. She and her friend Johnathan, PF's character, sort of go together. I was thinking of the Bernard/Bianca pair from Disney's "The Rescuers" whenever PF and I thought those two up together. A sweet hero has an unnoticed crush on an eccentric girl. We based their appearance on some sticking out features in our family, threw the adventurers into the tavern and waited to see what would happen.

Miri: I was in a very weird mood when I thought her up. Several of our forum friends helped me think her up at that time. It was extremely late at night and my mind was half-dreaming, I think. All I knew was I wanted to make this different, atomspheric character who'd make people feel the same way I was feeling then; peaceful, hardly worrying at all, not caring about troubles. Eventually, someone suggested a deliciously twisted stereotype; a dark character who had no evilness in her at all. Miri developed well from that point onward.

Evil Minion Number 2

Evil minion empathy = Zebis

Zebis “#776” started out as a simple reoccurring NPC in a RP I had a few years ago. Just a lazy demon that refused to do any sort of it's master's bidding, and made excuses left and right. One day in class, I tried to draw my World of Warcraft imp when I started missing him, but was very off in the design. So I just stole it (and my ex-imp's name) and gave them to the freaky NPC. Well, time went on, and the RP finished, and I started missing the poor fellow, so I decided to think of a story he could be in, a story seen from the clichéd evil minion’s perspective that almost justifies the silly concept. Still need to write that story, but find myself too lazy to finish it this year with my creative writing course (kind of ironic really.)

When drawing a blank on story ideas, I decided to drag him in here, because he’s just so… weird to see in the tavern.

~~~
Silly tavern idea = Dr. Freudeteburgher
The psychologist has been a tavern classic suggestion for ages, and the minion finally decided to drag one in. Not much else of a story there, or much concept design beyond the fact I want him to be blaintly cliche British-like.
~~~

Average guy + parody horror = Joe

Joe is a concept from a comedy comic I’ve been planning for a while (but want to get a definite style down before I get to work on,) called Die, Fourth Wall, Die!. He’s one of the four ‘protagonist’ archetypes I see as the most common in any place. There’s the young, naive, chosen hero, the bulky, steroid-filled action hero, the dark, angst figure with a mysterious yet tragic past, and there’s Joe, the average one put into an un-average situation.

Joe came about when I was playing video games with my good friend. I’ve had many jokes with him in the past for many games, and this one just cracked me up more than other. We were playing Silent Hill (because I needed moral support to play freaky games back then…) and the main protagonist shoved his hand in a hole where he couldn’t see what was on the other side. Due to the graphic nature of the game, I was expecting him to get his arm chopped off or something, but he only retrieved a key. So I drew MY version in a comic, and my friend suggested instead of having it chopped off completely, why not have it just ground to the bones, and have you run around with a skeleton of a hand for the rest of the game. I liked his version better, but thought it’s be even more painful for it to just grind down to your nerves then stop half way through them.

And thus, Average Joe was born (That name partially a tribute to Viewtiful Joe, partially a play on the term, still deciding if his last name should be Shmoe or Ginkevets)

Still looking for more horror humor to add to his section of the “epic quest” so I decided I’ll just learn more about Joe by RPing him here. Might bring in the other archetypes if I can get a silly quest going.

dang, I've got a lot of characters to explain.

Martin: RS needed someone to steal her Jinniya. Martin was supposed to fill that slot. Since then he's evolved a bit though. He's basically the little kid everyone tries to catch and no one ever does. In a world of serious and powerful characters he's the little 9 year old who brazenly pickpockets the mighty.

Alexandros: I made him for Q7. He's a bit of a contrast between normal villains, and indeed, normal characters. He's someone with no imagination, but a lot of skill. I was starting to think he was going to be a no-go character, but then he got into a situation where everyone else was panicking.

Henrick: A paladin from the imagined northlands. He gave me a chance to introduce more info about my world through his background. I tried to not make him the silly idealistic knight who runs off to do 'the right thing'. Henrick was given an overrawing practical side that continually conflicts with his chivalrous one.

Kate Marsdell: oooh, the infamous Kate. One day GB decided she needed a necromancer to toy with Arylan (Q5 had ended). Out of this vacuum Kate was born. I decided to take the classic necromancer feeling and twist, instead of the traditional necromancers (Either really hot women in black leather or old and disgusting men) I made her an utterly selfish teenager. Kate is heartless, her appearance is utterly awkward. No one would imagine an unflattering teenage girl named Kate being a necromancer, which makes it all the more interesting.

Nievae: Nievae was created because 1. I usually like stealth characters, I wanted to make one. and 2. because I am constructing a language (Dunlain), I figured that if I had someone who spoke it then I would be forced to not forget about the language in my lazyness.

Natelie Thorn: Natelie didn't come as a personality like most characters do. I have had the idea for her ability for ages. Someone who is utterly helpless, but who can make others very powerful. The dynamics of the idea were too good to pass up. A character like this is almost always the victim, dragged along by whoever finds them and wants power. Natelie's personality is based around that, though she's evolving as Janlarek draws her out of her shell of depression.

l33t d00d: I created him to be utterly absurd. Someone who is the essence of 'l33t|\|3ss'.

Palinor: She was originally supposed to be l33t's nemesis. I have retired her due to the fact that her personality is too static and shallow.

Jeremiah: this guy cannonballed himself out of my subconcious. I was doing homework one day and BAM, he hit me. I obsessed over him half a day and finally entered him. He is the first truely mad character in the tavern. The perfect mix of steam-punk/techno-geek and a let's-do-it-for-the-hell-of-it personality.

I love most of my character even though I suck at developing them... Its all in the noggin, just not in the sheet of paper... :)

Well Meredith: came from the anime show, full metal Alchemyst, love that show. I wondered wouldn't it be cool to have a kick ass female alchemyst that was partially good at many forms of the art. Especially human gene manipulation? Well that is where she seems to have been born at, while the whole Raven gaurd thing stemmed from the book from Phillip Pullman, and his idea of Deamons... I sorta thought hell why not give her an escort seeing as how she's part of the nobility in her land of EVORA.

Alyda: was born when I read Dias Irae. I love the whole concept of heaven vs. hell, and sin Vs. purity. She is the 4th of a band of seven characters that are in my current story Shadows of the Seven. She is a strong and capable character that has lived through many hardships, and knows life fully well, good and bad, right and wrong, she is not naive, and even though she knows life isn't fair, she has dedicated the rest of her life, to the service of god, and the cosolation he provides, and also as a form of repentence for what she has comitted in her past... A Preacher teaching truth and god, while struggling with her own demons...

Well, let's see.....I'll go ahead and put in the info for my 11 characters....

Analia Krisanti-She is my first character on this forum and was created specifically for the forum. I like the idea of a half Vampire half Drow and I wanted a female character so I created her. I stole her first name from a historical fiction story idea of mine(that I really haven't done anything with yet) and her last name from a fantasy/supernatural/Vampire story of mine called 'Blood Feud'. Other than her name...all of her info, her background, her weapons, everything was created on the spot for this forum.

Jarek Samane-He was created for the sole purpose of being used in Quest 9. I was wanting to add a character in there and couldn't think of one that I already had. After talking to SG and RS, I came up with the idea of a mage Hobbit with a really bad attitude. And that's how Jarek Samane was born. Not really much else to say about him.

Phoenix Vossen-One of the main characters in my Fantasy story, The Fall of a Tyrant. I wanted a quiet Ranger sort in the Tavern so I added him in. The only things that I really changed about him, compared to how he is in the story, is his age and the fact that he has a horse. Beyond that, he's pretty much original.

Whitemage-One of the main Dragons in my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. I just needed to add her stats in for whenever she popped up in different quests that my other characters were in. I didn't change anything at all for her when I added her.

Captain Sean Carten-From one of my Historical Fiction story ideas. I didn't change anything about him or his men when I added them in. Hhmmmm, nothing more about him I don't think.

Kiarus Swifteye-One of the main Griffins from my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. The only thing that I changed about her is her age. Nothing else to say...

Quero-Another of the main Griffins from the same series. I only changed his age as well. nothing more to add on that, unless someone has any questions.

Kolmir Lanik-One of the main Elves from the first book in my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. At this point in time, he would have been much older and actually, would be dead in the story, but obviously, he's alive here. At least he is at the moment. In my book, he doesn't have an eyepatch, or any type of sickness, and he doesn't wield a nearly 7' long katana and he's over 700 yrs old. I can't think of anything else about him.....

Knightshade-The main bad guy Dragon in my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. He's the main bad guy for Quest 20. Obviously, if he's the main bad guy in one of my main stories, he's going to be killed in that story, so I guess Q 20 is sort of like in a different life or something.

Emeraldfire-Another one of the main Dragons in my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. I had him show up in Quest 19 so I decided to put his stats up here. I haven't changed anything about him except his age.

Ataria Vossen/Maganti-The main character from all three books of my Fantasy series, the Dragonlife Chronicles. She was entered into this forum only for the purpose of being in Quest 20. The only thing that I changed about her was her age....nothing else that I can think of.

And that's all....Any questions?

I still have some characters I have yet to explain though they've been around quite a while. I feel silly!

First up, Azrael, AKA Death. He came to me one night (literally) in a very strange dream. I was in a city, it was raining... I think I was supposed to have died somehow... run over by a bus if my memory is correct, but I didn't. So after that, I kept trying to run from Death, afraid he was after me. I ran into a folk singer (you know, like one of the guys who sing on corners with an open guitar case)who was walking along the on the sidewalk ahead of me. He said he would help me but later, after we'd become friends, he revealed to me that he was Death. And I wasn't afraid.

So yeah, that's sort of where my version of Death came from. I've given him more of an Emo look in deference to his position. Black suits him well after all. And I've made him not scary, unless, of course, he has reason to be. Exasperation because he's the only death, and he has to be everywhere any time someone dies. He's seen the best and worst of the human race, though mainly the worst. He's seen it ALL. That's where he gets the sense of boredom.

Gad, no surname.

I made Gad up on the spot. It didn't happen instantly but It did not take longer than a day to figure out what I wanted in this character. I created him, and then a story just kind of developed around him. I have an idea of who he is, but he is still a work in progress. I am currently starting a story with him as the main character. I brought him to the tavern, to test him out. To see where I might want to take him. If I like where he goes, then I will continue to use him in my story I have started if not. Well, nothing is perfect.

Guess it's time I explained Elsva, Liramil, and Lindoreth.

Well... I created Elsva with the sole purpose in mind of messing with Dorian because he was sitting all alone in the tavern, waiting to be messed with. I sort of based her off some of the extreme feminists that insist that women are better than men, a bit of Greek Myth, and a bit on the ancient hunter-gatherer peoples. If that isn't all apparent in her make-up, let me explain.

First, her attitude toward men is merely that they are tools for breeding, but otherwise useless. I guess I got a bit of influence there from the sci-fi genre where there are a few stories about women ruling the earth while most of the men died out because of some sort of disease that attacks the Y-chromosome. Since there are very few men left, those that are are often used soley to propogate the species. An ancient form of genetic engineering comes into play here as the women of the tribe size up men they meet like they might sides of meat. Many fertility clinics today have catalogs of possible donors with medical history, pictures of the donor, and a bit about each one, and many of the people that go there look for certain traits in the donor... That's basically what the Amazons do, only they make children the old fashioned way. XD

As for the Greek part of things, I obviously didn't give her everything to make her a historical Amazon. I just threw in a few things based on my previous research (just out of curiosity, not extensive). First, she and her "sisters" worship Diana, Roman godess of the hunt and moon, not the Greek Artemis, though they're basically the same. The next thing that popped into my head was the common trait in many heroes of Greek tragedy: hubris. I made her proud of her skills and filled with hateur at anyone she considered beneath her, male or weak female. The abandoning of the male babies came from a lot of the myths as well, when any undesired child was left out and exposed to whatever might come by and cause its end.

The rest of the influence is from hunter/gatherer societies. The amazons live in tents. They have stone tools. They hunt and trade in fur. And they have no written language. They also have both a shamaness and a chieftaness, two very important positions in the tribe.

Having that as her background, I added the fact that she is unused to rejection, and viola! I think she's turned out pretty well.

---------------------------------------------------------

Lira came about out of the thought "Okay, so I've screwed Dorian up... How do I get him to find himself again?" Then it hit me. Have him meet a Valley Elf lady! For those of you unfamiliar with Valley Elves, they're in my Realms post. Basically, they're non-violent, rather tolerant people infamous for being so hospitable they'd give their house away to someone if the person needed it and asked for it. Many of them are rather innocent and naive. Liramil is rather typical of the race.

Being quite familiar with being naive, I added a bit of denial of the faults of others to her, with a dash of my aunt's penchant to put others before herself in most things. In fact, I think I drew quite a bit of influence from my aunt in that regard without even realizing it.

I thought Lira needed a family. Since very few of my characters had siblings, I gave her an older brother who has a different trade. Thinking about it, I started wondering what would happen if he was blind? So I made him so through an accident, and started working out his personality through that.

First, being older and slightly less fortunate than Lira, he's less naive and innocent. Being blind, however, makes him a bit more dependent on others, and perpetually lost. Because of that, he can be rather self-conscious and shy. Because he's shy, he's soft-spoken. *shrug* He's still developing, but I've gotten to like him.

Garret Livingston: I created him when I thought up my current story (although his physical features are based on my one friend) He was originally gonna be Emma's brother that she had only just been reunited with a couple weeks before but that didn't work with the story so for a while in the first chapter his was the antagonist then finally when I had my whole plot set in stone he became the wonderful character that his is today. :)

All the rest of my character in 'Enemy Lines' were off the top of my head and only had minor changes like their hair color or what language they spoke, stuff like that.

I'll just go ahead and explain my white Dwarf Dragon, Puff.

Well, it's sort of funny, because I first started thinking of cute small dragons in the middle of a silly hyper chat I was having with friends, who were in the midst of throwing bigger and bigger dragons at each other. I said my cat-sized dragons ruled them all out since they knew how to function a nuclear bomb. That's really random, but later when I was remembering my silly joke, I thought why not make a small dragon? I felt like doing another hyper, silly character similar to Sarai in its childishness.

Puff is definitely "little but fierce," not unlike one of my siblings. I wanted to have his pride, large heart and huge ambitions make up for his insignificant size. The result is this comical, puffed-up dragonling who goes around thinking he's bigger than he really is. The fact that he has wings but can't fly is a complete spoof. I was getting sick of seeing all these flying creatures with an unrealistic wing span.

And here we go again.

This is about Princess Sun. She, like Puff, came to mind out of silliness. Originally supposed to be a spoof, not really a character. A big thanks to my sisters for adding on some of her quirky traits, (like Harold.) But as I thought over her more and more, I realized that she was a classic parody, what with her history and background molding her more than anything else could. At first impression she is exactly what any princess would be; a damsel-in-distress who wants to follow all the stereotypical rules. But the weird thing is that it's only like that because her poor sick mind was in that setting in the first place. She's a victim through and through. I find it interesting that she's mainly the way she is because of other people. The way other people can affect her makes her very fun to RP with.

anti-true-love + warrior princess wife = Ernest

Ernest and Beatrice were a concept build nearly on spot. Basically I just wanted a normal male who married one of those warrior princesses, and grew to hate her guts and ran away as a contrast to the young teenager running away from his home and being hunted by an evil organization. He’s suppose to look like a slightly different average than Joe, but still extremely plain. His personality is and has always been slightly witty with a streak of being a jerk in him. His name derives from Ernest Hemingway and his short story "The Short Happy Life of Francis MacComber". He’s quickly evolving into one of my favorite characters. Beatrice was built after Ernest, and is strongly based off a female version of Dante fused with Trish in Devil May. She’s basically designed to be “awesome” and “hot” in the short term, but a real pain in the ass for the long term. Warrior princesses would make very, very bad wifes after all, even if they find "true wub".

Generic rogue + smarts + anti-dead parents = Kel

Kel has kind of evolved in stages. First, his appearance was borrowed from a failed sketch I draw of a friend’s character many, many years ago that I fell in love with even if she wasn’t fond of it. Then, I got a sudden urge to make a generic roguish assassin character since I kind of have a rogue obsession, and stuck it on him along with the idea of him being an actor (a concept I think any assassin could use). He was going to have a common "swashbuckling assassin with a heart of gold" attitude, then I stopped and thought about it and realized a heart of gold just doesn't suit someone who kills for money. After a discussion with GB, gave him his habit of taking half and never returning for the second half of his prize, which influenced his personality to be stylish but careful at many times. GB also came up with the idea of main name being a stagename, and him having an extremely effeminate name. His parents came from the fact that very, VERY few fantasy characters have parents, or aunts and uncles. Thus, he does indeed have parents, but just keeps his career from them.

Tala Henry was created from several fragments of old ideas I'd previously had (and rejected or laid aside). The first idea that popped into my head was a mute character. I'd seen an old movie in which the main protagonist was mute through trauma with a killer after her and got inspired, but never had made the character.

The next thing I added to her was a story concept that I had earlier rejected for another of my characters (Anya) because it did't quite fit her. Basically it is this:

Fate and Destiny have been over-stepping their bounds as the life tapestry weavers. Instead of following the natural flow of the pattern, they go with what best suits their own designs and hold, in their hands, power over the gods as they control every aspect of the lives of the gods' followers. You see, it is from followers (living and dead) that the gods derive their power. One needs living followers to recruit new followers so that the god's power can grow. If all living followers of a god die out, then the god's power stops growing and the other gods will eventually overtake them in power. That is the threat that Fate and Destiny posed as they blackmailed the gods.

Now it comes to reason that the gods were angred by this behavior seeing as Fate and Destiny were merely immortals (perhaps demigods) and should not have such power over the true gods. However, they could not kill or depose the two as not ALL the gods agreed (a couple had rather nice arrangements) and it was agreed upon at the beginning of time that none of the immortals that look after the running of the multiverse (Time, Fate, Death, Chaos, War, etc.) could be removed from office without a unanimous vote by the gods. Instead, a solution was posed by a little-known mute goddess known as the goddess of secrets. Use the infinitesimally small thread of a newborn destined to die at birth, give it longer life, and hide it from view of Fate and Destiny in every way. This mortal would, through living beyond the proddings of Fate, have the power to throw the tapestry into disarray, OR to correct it by pulling on the strands of others in different ways not forseen by Fate. Tala's movements are directed by the gods and her own free will, nothing else. No one knows how it will end.

Strange how you should say that Fate and Destiny were overstepping their bounds. My characters Bb and Nancy Fate have a daughter named Destiny. And Bob is knuwn for trying to con the souls out of people while Nancy has been known to help them. They also have these cameras that can take a person's soul, freeze them on sight, and even reveal what their own fate is (Based on that given person's lifestyle and choices).

Interestingly, my dad's old eye doctor was named Bob Fait, if you can believe that. I based my character of Bob around this big man and gave him one of the most average looking woman to be his wife, Nancy. Their daughter I based on Pippi Long-stocking and the Wendy's restaurant girl.

Ah, where to begin on how Edward was created...

Well, it all started around October of last year. My friends and I were writing a Naruto fan fiction, and they each had characters that were 'Naruto-esque' or, as it's more commonly known, 'Asian.' So, I decided to make a European ninja. And not just European, he was British. So, I started tweaking with the idea, when another idea hit me: there were no British ninjas in Naruto, and there were no gay ninjas, so why not make one who was both. And thus, Edward came to being! Eventually, the fan fiction died, but I loved Edward as a character so much, I've decided to make a series of stories surrounding his adventures.
