Currently in this quest MW and Marjorievonnordeck - invited at the moment anyone wishing to play a Jedi or Padawan charater; SP and EM))

((This entire post will be OOC for the pourpose of giving some basic "Jedi" and starwars info. ... please be paitent.

-The proper place for a Padawan to walk is one step to the left and half a step behind their master.

-A Padawan always refers to their Master as "Master" when speaking to them (reguardless of weather they are a Master or just a Knight) and usually when they are refering to them as well. "My Master sent me to..." insted of "Joe sent me" is usually more apropriate... that or they may refer to them by proper title "Knight Grev wishes your presance..." in a very formal setting, ect.

Basic Jedi Information:

Code -

*The Jedi code also “forbids” emotional attachments (e.g. romantic relationships, and very close friendships), and monetary possessions (aside from required tools, and gear witch is usually provided by the Jedi Council/Temple in any case) - While these are not strictly prohibited, it is generally looked down upon to have possessions and/or attachments and is actively discouraged, any that might interfere with training/duties of a Jedi/Padawan are forbidden.

Brief Definition of What a Jedi is-

Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.

Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others.

Jedi respect all life, in any form.

Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them.

Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

The Crystal Code:

Brief Definition of the Force-

The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together. The Force is life, and life is the Force. Some think of the Force as a sentient entity that may be capable of intelligent thought—almost as if it were a sort of God—while others simply consider it something that can be manipulated and used as though it were a tool. From a cretin point of view this is both true and not true.

The good side of the Force is the facet of that energy field aligned with good, benevolence, and healing. The dark side of the Force is the element aligned with fear, hatred, aggression, and violence; this side of the Force seems more powerful to the unwary, though it is just more tempting to those that can touch upon the power as it doesn't impose any restrictions on its use.

The Force is also described with two additional aspects: the Unifying Force and the Living Force.

-The Unifying Force essentially embraces space and time in its entirety(the past, present, and future as one).

-The Living Force deals with the directly ongoing niches present in the Force and compassion to living things (now, the moment, and what is important now, but not so focused on the posable outcomes of it).

In brief; the origin of the Jedi:

The original origins of the Jedi are no longer known; it is known, however, that the brightest and best philosophers, priests, and warriors came together on a single world long ago to discuss their discoveries involving the enigmatic, mystical Force, and that the concentration of these efforts eventually led to the development of the Jedi Order

Initially the Jedi was a contemplative order. Over time, however, the Order changed, and took a more direct and active role in galactic affairs, eventually centralizing themselves on Coruscant in the aftermath of the catastrophic Battle of Ruusan. Before that, for thousands of years the Order had been centered on the planet Ossus (which is among the worlds where it is thought that the Order may have originated), until Ossus was devastated 4,000 years BBY during the Sith War. The history of the Jedi was intertwined with both the Republic they served and the Sith they fought.

The planet could barely be seen with the eye, just as it hardly showed up on the gravitational sensors. It was hidden in the shadow of a much larger, orange planet that orbited the system's sun prominently and seemed to demand all the attention.

All the light the new planet got came from its two moons. One was slightly smaller then the other, and both were silvery white and on either side of the dark planet. That silver light gave a fine outline of a shadowy globe, only a third the size of Earth, patched and shadowed all over with pure blackness. The oceans were the brightest, and were haphazard and isolated compared to the usual. The land that surrounded it was much, much darker, like it was absorbing the light instead of reflecting or emitting it.

One could tell it was a rough terrain, full of mountains and valleys and patched with small seas, but little else was visible from the dark of space.

On the surface, dawn, as it could be called, was starting. The light of the two moons gave the sky a deep blue, evening hue. Ferns, vines, trees and brush opened up wide to sop up the sunlight. Every plant's leaves were pure black, not the chlorophyll green one normally expected.

The terrain was rough, to say the least. Here a twelve-foot cliff would drop before climbing back up; over there a hill or mountain would rise out of the landscape. A valley would form inconspicuously out of the landscape, unidentifiable until someone walked into it. In a couple places great gaps opened in the ground and lead into a honeycomb of caves, or opened into a wide grotto. All of it was covered with black plant life; thickly where the moonlight could reach, and thinly in the shadows of hills and valleys. Sulfurous pools bubbled out of the ground at some low places, where they were tapped by a great collection of different plants.

The air was breathable, but thin. There was less oxygen, and less air in general, then a human would prefer. The chemicals from volcanoes and pools made it toxic enough to be unhealthy for long visits. The rough terrain was hardly more inviting, but a gravity only 2/3rds of Earth's made it easier to handle.

Knight Kalier stood in the front of the breefing room hands lghtly clasping his forearms inside his sleeves as he waited paientently for the others to arive.

The room was squair and large, and empty except for a table sarrounded but six chairs in the center of the room.

((His Padawan should be there already and eaither standing at his left r seated at the table.))

Morek was standing slightly behind and to the left of his Master, hands clasped behind his back, his young face showing no emotion, though his bright green eyes were taking in everything. He had several questions to ask his Master, but he knew that now wasn't the time or place for it.

Jedi Knight Arase Secura was among the first to arrive. She nodded to Kalier, smiling slightly at Morek. "I assume that everyone else will be arriving shortly?"

((Well, I posted but I'm going to be leaving on vacation in two days, so I won't be around for about two weeks....after I leave just assume that my characters go along with everyone else.))

((Ok, well, we have no other charaters interacting at the moment yet... so you picked a good time for vatcation, lol. XD))

Morek looked up at Arase and bowed his head slightly, but didn't say anything. It wasn't his place to start a conversation with a Jedi Knight, even if he knew she wouldn't mind.

Kalier returned Arase's nod, "Yes, they should be here in just a moment,"have a seat if you like."

Arase smiled slightly at Morek again and then looked back to Kalier. "Alright. How many are we expecting, Kalier?"

"Just one more," he answered her question, "a civilian scientest apointed by the senet... though I'm not sure who they're.."

((Uuumm... I'm going to atempt to get some other players in here... otherwise we're kind of stuck for the moment.))

((oh, okay.... I know someone who might have an interest in being part of this quest.....I'll have to talk to him and see what he says.))

Jane-Doe walked his way into the room, carrying a data pad and looking it over. He looked a bit disarrayed with only half the knots brushed out of his hair, and had evidence of five o'clock shadow all over his face (with a few cuts). He was barely getting to tieing his neck tie when he entered the room, muttering formal greetings to all present.

"Good, now that we're all here," Knight Kalier began, "we can begin. We're going to an as of yet unnamed planet on the far side of the galexy. There is very little light and while the atmospher is... tollerabul, it is a bit toxic for prolonged exposure... that's why I included breathers in my list of sugested gear. The planet is of great interest to the Jedi order in particular because there is a vast abundance of force-sensative life present there on many levels from intelagent life forms to plants. The Republic is interested in it because it have a large amount of natuarl and untapped minabul resorces."

He turned to Jane-Doe then, "Perhaps you could tell us a bit about the conditions of the planet."

Arase nodded greetings to Jane-Doe, but said nothing.

Morek looked up at Jane-Doe, after bowing when he'd entered of course, and waited to hear what the man had to say.

Clearing his throat, Jane-Doe spoke quite a bit more professionally than he was currently dressed. "Jedi Kalier has outlined quite a few of the major basics, though I can assure there's a bit more to worry about. There has been confirmation of water sources, though it is still debatable wither the water is drinkable for humans. Though the gravity has been confirmed to be 2/3s as strong as galactic standard, the terrain will prove rough if we plan to travel. There has been signs found of life, though no actual video or photos have been taken. It'd be highly recommended we take our own food also, due to the lack of any sample data to test for local edibility."

Arase stared at Jane-Doe for a moment and then blinked. Well he certainly sounded official enough. "You will be accompanying us to this planet, correct?" she asked him.

"Yes, he will," Knight Kalier answered for him. "He is coming as our expert scientest and observer."

Over the next several moments Knight KAlier finished the breefing discribint the amount and type of gear they were bringing. ((Food and water of cours... as well as medical supplies.))

The ship they would be taking a cass C J42 exploration vehicle was outfitted with all sorts of sensor and recording equiptment. Knight Kalier's specialty was in diplomacy and foreigon relations so he had a vast knowledge of interplanitary cultures and languages... witch is why he was chosen to head up this first contcat mission even as a new Knight. His knowledge would couple nicely with Jane-Doe's scientific qualifications and background for this mission.

Arse's maine assignment on this mission was to asses security. At the moment as things occured and in a brawder sense for her to asses the general saftey of the planet as they explored it.

((It's Jedi, but yes you could join this quest as one so long as your charater can act like a stotic, proper Jedi however at the moment we're kind of waiting on players who have dissaperared on vacation for a bit.))
