A bit of self advertising here, okay, a lot of self advertising, but I wrote a short essay on here called How to Cure Writers Block. It's not intended to be a big list of helpful things or new ideas. Instead I just wanted to point out the most obvious, and I think the best way to get rid of writers block. So yeah, hope it helps some of you guys.

(I'm adding a few links, but I want to add a blurb about one word first. Mind you, there's a spoiler for today's word - 10/27/09) I love one word! It's amazing, even though a few people who use it don't seem to understand the concept. :) Some of the things can be really inspiring. For example, today's word was "microphone" so I just wrote out a slightly sappy thing about a girl singing. However, I found these short, but beautiful snippets: "you are my voice, my microphone." and "the microphone never lies". I don't know about everyone else, but wow. Those are actually really deep. Anyway, they inspired me to write. And get a Stumble Upon account.

Writing Magic: Creating Stories That Fly by Gail Carson Levine.

It's got a lot for fantasy, but it can help for anything fiction related. There are tips for writers block, character lists, ideas for beginnings, endings, characters, and plots, just for practice.
