Topic: Good vs. Evil
How do you see different races/ creatures as being good or evil. When you write do you usually pick the same ones to be good or do you mix it up?

There is no race set aside to be evil-

just as any human, evil has no specific claim to any specific individual.

It would all depend on the person/creature in question.

But some races have a nasty habit to lean towards tendencies that could very well TURN them evil...

Vampires- for instance- are very often driven to either a souless, evil existance with no trace of conscience, or complete madness.

But it's the things they're compeled to do, the cravings and instincts that infect their blood, that makes their minds slowly wear away until they give in to evil.

After that, any hope of 'good' is lost.

As for other races...well, their stories may differ.

Actually I preety much am siding with you on the vampires. However in one book I made them have a civil war btw the pure vamps that were born that way and the bitten vamps. The bitten vamps are the good guys even if the King turns out to be bad.

Anyone can be evil. EVERYONE can turn out to be evil (in my case.)

Yeah, my thinking on the subject is what appetites, traditions, etc. the creature has, and how strong or compelling those appetites are to turn them to evil.

Vamps are generally evil because they lust for blood. Not drinking blood only makes them want it more. Eventually even the ones that try to fight off the hunger and try to do good, to not prey on the innocent, will not be able to fight it anymore. And eventually, after a few centuries, they don't even care anymore.

Werewolves, on the other hand, are only raving man-eating monsters once a month, and some of them don't even know what they are. It's much easier for the victim to contain the wolf than it would be for a vamp to contain the blood lusting monster. Therefore werewolves are more likely to be good people still, minus the night of the full moon.
