Topic: The Plotseekers milleiu
One novel, a couple short stories, a couple fanfics--this is the Plotseekers universe. Actually it's set in our universe, present time being the early 2000s, but underneath that world is the one in books--where authors see real events and write them down (that is how we get books, isn't it? Many people say so) but some certain people can Find this enough to not write the events they see but physically enter into the books and affect them.

Does this concept seem interesting to you? Do you believe the Plot is Real?

I have thought a lot about this novel, giving it various purposes beyond just being a cool idea, and it has been so far the easiest of my novel-length projects to write. One purpose is to explore the phenomenon fanism--what exactly is the phychological relasionship between people and the fiction they love? Can a romantic relasionship between a Real person and a character--whether or not the two meet physically--be "true love"? My characters Mourn and Mariel explore this in their differeing experiences as "fangirls". It is not, however, in any way focused on romance. The real focus is fantasy, the newness of these ideas, and to see how I can play with grammar and fiction humor.

Please comment here on this concept or the story itself if you have read before or are interested now.

sounds really interesting if it doesn't degenerate into meaningless jabber about fandom. Contact me if you do any further work on it.

It does depend on what you mean by "meaningless jabber". I have been doing plenty of further work on it--Plotseekers 1 is a 39-chapter novel as of today.

Mourn does rant about fandom, but that's part of her character. She's emotional and gets mad easily if someone doesn't share her views, and the world she lives in was fandom-based for quite a while.

yeah sorry after posting i checked out your profile and found it there.

"meaningless jabber" just means continual moaning about the unfairness of it all i guess but it depends on the context and everything.

I will review it shortly.

I'm so glad you liked the first chapter. Do you mind if I ask what is implied by "it all"? Just to make sure we're on the same wavelength.
