Topic: Silver Point

One of the most southern places in Evintyri. Big mountain, not that much life around except a few deer, moose, and whatever other creatures there are.

Tia Rose-eyes let out a contented sigh. This was her favorite spot on the whole mountain. It was a ridge that over looked the little vally in which she had built her small homely cabin. Normally she went around as a human but today she felt like streching her bat-like wings. After her small flight she had come to rest on the ridge still in her dragon form. The hot noon sun had all but lulled her to sleep. She knew she shouldn't stay like this out in the open, but she thought that no one would come up here and see her so she fell asleep.

The feeling that you get when someone is watching you woke Tia from her dreamless nap. She laid as still as she could not knowing what watched her. She did not know if the someone or something had seen her earlier transfomration but it would probably be easier to stay a dragon. Something...or more correctly an elf like person... was hiking up to where she lay in the sun. In one quick movement she stood on her back legs spread her large bat-like wings till they blocked the light and let out a roar. She smiled a preditory (sp?) smile all teeth and mischeivous intent. Surely that would discourage this elf. But then again it had been a long time since she had talked to someone. maybe creatures just weren't as scared as easily. Tia went back to all fours and waited to see what this creature would do.

Danica smiled under the cowl of her silver cloak as she watched the black dragon roar at her. She stared at Tia in awe at the grace of the dragon as she continued her hike. The elf continued to run up the boulders and rocky ridges to reach Tia. When she noticed that Tia had finally decided to wait for her, she smiled and disappered among the ridges. To make her appearance all the more dramatic, she had made sure her cloak was concealing her though the magic of the cloak was no use against one of a dragon.

She leapt quickly and quietly from rock to rock until she came above the black dragon. She settled and before the dragon could consider and turn in her direction, she smiled once more and said in a light voice,

"Hello Tia Rose-eyes! It's an honor to finally meet you!"

However Tia was ready for the elf and with one swift move of the tip of her tail sent her tumbling off the rock. She smirked. Rookies? would they ever stop trying these silly games? Probably not. It was werid how this one knew her name. Not many people knew she was a dragon...at least that she let live. "Well you seem to have an advantage over me for I do not know your name."

Meanwhile...

Down at the base of the mountain, Ian was currently trekking through the hazardess forest. He had just finished mapping the dwarven strongholds, and his next assignment was to map Silver Point.

Ian jumped as he heard a roar come from the mountain's peak, and he anxiously looked up.

Through a gap in the foilage, he thought he was something...

He had heard myths, but never had believed them.

Continuing as swiftly as he could, he thought he heard a woman's voice say something.

Adjusting his traveler's cap, and his mapmaking supplies that he held in his arms, he was startled to hear another woman reply.

Gulping, he finished the trek up the mountain's peak and was met with startling sight...

Danica laughed as she rose from the ground. She knew the dragon would've known she was there but she did not, however, expect the dragon to hit her off her perch!

That's what you get for not being prepared! she rediculed herself. She brushed the snow and dirt that she had gotten on her silver cloak, made sure the cowl was still covering most of her face, and looked to the angry black dragon staring at her intently demanding an answer to her question.

"I believe the advantage is all yours Tia!" the dark elf said boldly, making sure her silver staff was still withen reach and a hand hovering over the throwing stars, "my name is of little importance considering you could kill me with ease!"

Ian quickly ducked behind a bush and, wide-eyed, watched a woman with silver hair stand boldly before a great dragon.

His eyes flickered to the small dagger at his waist, but how could that possibly help? What would happen to the woman?

And...Ian gulped...what could happen to HIM?

He started when he heard the silver-haired girl speak, making a rather loud noise as he made a 'Whelp!' sound and fell on his behind.

"It seems we are no longer alone, and that my sanctuary is no longer silent. Perhapes you could assist your friend from the bushes? And after that you may both tell me why you have come here." Tia said noticing that at least the rooky was trying to keep her weapons in reach. Maybe this one had potential. "You don't need weapons as long as you stay on my good side elf. Now go help your friend."

Danica nodded and walked slowly to the bushes while using a throwing star that she held in her hand to watch the dragon carefully. Seeing the dragon wasn't going to move anytime soon, she found a man looking boldly at her but a closer look at him showed that he was extremely nervous at the presence of a dragon and a dark elf.

"No need to worry friend," Danica said kindly trying to calm him down and holding out a hand, "come with us and perhaps we will find the time to talk more about your business here on Silver Point."

Tia could tell the little man was nervous. 'As he should be' she thought. however she was tired of people being so jumpy. With a yawn she looked over at the two. If you follow that trail you will sooner or later reach a cabin knock on the door. I know the woman and she will give you dinner. Give her any messages for me and i will see you soon. She flew off and then transformed to human and entered her cabin. she smiled to herself it was fun to have people to mess with. She began to start dinner and waited for her new friends to arrive.

Ian glanced at the hand outstretched to him, and grasped it. He nodded to the woman, and all the while still staring at the dragon just a few yards away.

"My b-business? I-I am merely making m-maps of this area...and plotting landmarks..." He stuttered, but soon saw that he was making a fool of himself.

He swiftly brushed all spare grasses that had clung to him, and his eyes flickered back to the silver haired girl. He extended his hand, and said,

"Ian Vaan, master mapmaker for the Elvin King." He tipped his cap, and smiled, although the threat of the dragon loomed in the back of his mind.

"Nice to meet you Ian" Danica said with a smile. She lowered the cowl on her cloak and bowed while introducing herself. "Danica Silverwarrior, warrior and mercenary-in-training" she said coming up from her bow. Her ebon-skinned features cracked into a small smile as the relief of the mapmaker was evident on his face when Tia had left.

The dark elf looked around for the trail Tia had referred to and, when she found it, said to Ian, "let's get something to eat. I don't know about you but I'm starving!" She immediately started her trek up the mountain with a smile on her face and the knowledge in her mind that she had just made a friend.

Ian smiled at the Danica, and said, "Mercenary and warrior, eh?" He smirked and grabbed the dagger at his waist.

"Well, I can be a great warrior too!" He swung the dagger around a bit and made a 'Hiya' sound.

He soon realised he was making a complete fool of himself, and rubbed the back of his head in embarassment. "Sorry..."

Following his newly found friend, he asked, "So, where are we headed?"

His thoughts flickered back to the dragon. "Wait, we're not going to that dragon-lady's house, are we?" His breath hitched, and he froze.

Tia usually kept to herself but she had seen something in the elf that reminded her of a much younger and innocent version of herself. She had put on a homespun russet dress and white apron. She set the table for three and went over to check on the rolls and stir the stew. She considered telling them that she was a friend of the dragon and see just what they wanted. That would probably be the safest and fun thing to do. She looked out her window over the sink and saw them coming down the trail. 'What name should i use? Rose. Yes that will do.' she thought taking out the rolls and placing them in a basket on the table with a pat of butter.

Danica had to laugh at Ian's reaction. "I'm sure you can be a great warrior my friend," she assured him, "and yes, we have to go to the dragon-lady's house as you put it." She could see that Ian was still very fearful about the black dragon and answered the unasked question, "I have to talk to Tia and the only thing we have is that she directed us to go to the cabin along the trail. Don't worry, nothing will got wrong. The worst that could happen is that we get blasted all the way to Natalia and onward!"

Seeing that that did nothing to reassure him, she smiled and started walking down the trail toward the cabin.

Since they were not here yet Tia now 'Rose' went outside to her flower and herb garden. She gather wolfsbane, nightshade, and other poisen yet beautiful plants with flowers and put them in a vase on the table. 'Perfect'. she smiled.

Ian had to laugh. He acutally thought she was joking!

"Well, okay, Miz Warrior, on we go to get our heads blasted off!" He laughed again and ran down the trail to walk along beside her.

They continued walking for quite awhile, until a small log cabin came into view.

"This is her house?" Ian asked, wondering how a dragon would be able to live in it. It was physically impossible! Ian rose an eyebrow at his companion.

Danica saw the confused look on her companion and quickly explained, "she told us that this was a lady who she knew. I'm guessing that Tia isn't that far away from here." She looked at the rocky ridges for any sign and only felt a small sense of unease.

Ian and her went up to the wooden door and Danica rapped her knuckles against the door.

Tia smiled to herself 'fun fun fun' she chanted in her head as she went to answer the door. She adjusted her russet dress and white apron and opened the door. "Hello! I am Rose. Tia went to hunt her own dinner and will be with us shortly. Oh you poor dears! You are all skin and bone! Come in and eat something I just got dinner on the table. When sweet little Tia told me that she invited some friends over here for dinner since her cave and type of food would not do for mortal stomachs I was so happy! Since my dear husband died, God rest his soul, it has just been me. Now don't get me wrong Tia does come and visit but she is a dragon don't ya know, and those types always have it hard fighting off airhead knight and the such. Now don't just stand there sit yourselves and eat something." she said content to play with their minds and have a little fun before they found out she was really the dragon they had talked to.

When Tia said 'You are all skin and bone,' Danica suppressed a laugh and just smiled outwardly. She reminded her of her great-aunt who said that she was always too skinny. She surveyed the table and looked at the all the good-looking food. Her stomach started growling furiously and she gave in and started digging in. She saw Rose looking on and she politely looked up and asked, "so how long have you known Tia?"

Ian couldn't help but gawk at the half-elf's manners. Raising an eyebrow and averting his eyes, he heard her speak.

"So, how long have you known Tia?"

'Fratinizing with the enemy, really.' Ian thought, picking at his food slowly. He sighed, drawing the attention of the two.

He then blushed furiously at his rude thoughts, and gained an uncomfortable expression.

" Oh I have known Ty for many years. About as long as I have lived here on this mountain. She is such a nice thing and I really don't want her hurt, God only knows how much she has already been thru, so don't take this wrong, but what are you both wanting of Tia? Not very many people actually come a callin'." she heard the man sigh, "Oh do eat up dear. If it is not to your taste I could change it a little." Tia said and just as she would add parsly or rosemary to her food she picked a sprig of nightshade out of the flower vase and added the leaves and then the broken stem to her stew. Then she took a bite wondering if her guests knew the deadly properties of the plants in the vase.

Danica smiled at Ian as he blushed and looked back to Rose taking flowers out of a vase and adding them to her stew. She nodded and was about to say something else when she noticed something peculiar about the flowers. She reconized nightshade from some dark elf wizards who often added it to their potions and then as she looked at the other flowers she reconized that all of them were poisonous.

She calmly looked to Rose as she ate her stew with the leaves and stem of the nightshade on top and realized that this person must either be crazy or careless or that she was a person of strong magical properties. She suppressed the will to start grinning from years of experience and said casually, "Ian and I are looking for Tia because I came to talk to her about something but Ian stumbled upon us purely by accident while doing some mapping."

Danica picked up one of the nightshade flowers and twirled it in between her nimble fingers. Time to play a game of her own. "I've never heard of such flowers being added to meals before. Is is good?"

...And Rose just put it in her stew.

...Either this is REALLY good or REALLY bad.

She couldn't help it she just loved to mess with people. "Yes it is. Would you like some?" she asked as if it really was nothing more than mint or rosemary. "this actually needs more ground pepper root. Do you want any?" she asked the two adding a rather large pinch to her bowl. However the wind thought it would it be fun to blow some in her face which cause her to senze. She brought her napkin up to block it but sometimes when a dragon senzes they tend to have a little fire. And this happened to be one of those times unfortunatly. her napkin a now only a charred strip of cloth and ash she gazed at her eating compaions to see their reactions.

Tia could no longer help it she began to laugh and laugh and laugh till she could hardly breath. The faces they made where just too much for someone who lives by herself most of the time. Stumbling and laughing she goes out of the house leaving the door open so that they may see. She stripes off her clothes and changes into her draogn form still laughing.

Danica was laughing as well as she saw Tia outside the door, thinking that by sheer chance the pepper had finished the job that she wanted to do.

The warrior/mercenary looked to see Ian's reaction and knew he was unsure of what was going to happen next. She still held the nightshade in her hand and called out to Tia, "Had fun?" with a grin on her face.

Before Tia could answer, Danica looked to Ian and said quieter so not to interrupt Tia, "Don't worry. You could tell it was her when she added the nightshade to the stew. No human could survive such a poison unless they had an antidote with them."

Ian laughed nervously.

"O-of course I knew!" He said indignantly, "I was just...acting!"

He grinned sheepishly at her, and looks back out the door at Tia.

"What now?"

Tia smiled showing off her rather sharp teeth. "Yes, I did. Did you? I was wondering how long it would take you both to figure it out but the wind and pepper ruined my fun." She gave a long look at Ian. "If it makes you more comfortable I will transform back to human. Of course I still want to know why you have saught me out."

Ian pointed to himself, "Me? I wasn't looking for you! I thought you were a myth!" He cried indignately.

He began to whine, "I was just trying to map Silver Point! I...I don't wanna get caught up in all of this...I think."

He looked helplessly at Danica.

Tia looked at him with a very confused face, which doesn't suit dragons at all. She changed to human and put her clothes back on so that she was more on his eye level. "I am a myth? What stories do they say?" she asked her confusion quiting her laughs. "I have a map I made of Silver Point if you wish to copy it. However some points are from the air."

((Yeah this is fun. This is my first RP so I wanted to see how it goes. Totally worth it!))

"Actually it was me who originally came looking for you," said Danica, "I've been wanting to ask a question of partnership since I heard you were a mercenary. Or at least the rumors say."

The dark elf twirled the nightshade in between her nimble fingers before taking a swig off one of the flasks she carried with her. She then bit the flower off the top of the nightshade and chewed slowly, savoring the unique taste of the poisonous plant. She should remember to carry more of these with her but she felt both the poison running through her system and the antidote that she had just drank counter-acting it.

Hopefully Ian noticed and freak out. The dark elf sighed. How she loved playing games as well.

Tia smiled to herself. Perhapes she had been alone too long. This elf seemed like someone who could handle her quirky moods and odd sense of humor. She noticed that she had the nightshade anti-dote which was good since she just ate it. "Aye, I am a merc. But only in my human form. Only you know my other form and I would like to keep it that way. We shall see about a permant partnership. You may not like to stay with me once you get to know me better." plus people don't live long in this type of work, but she didn't add that.

Danica nodded. "Sounds good to me," she replied with a small grin, "if there's any worries about me becoming a liability in this type of work, worry not. Almost everyone who has underestimated me because of my age, race, and gender normally end up either very humbled or very dead."

She looked to Ian. "If you wish to go your way from this point you can," she said calmly, "if you wish to stay, I will be more than happy to have you around. However, I would ask Tia if you wish to stay here since this is technically her domain."

Ian seemed interested in what they had to say. Mercanaries? Heroics? It seemed like the perfect chance to get some extraordinary mapping done!

He turned and addressed Tia, smiling, "I'd be honored to go with you two, think of all the plotting I could get done if I journeyed with you fine warriors!"

He grinned at Danica.

"You may come if you like Ian. However are you sure you are both comfortable being with a dragon? NO offence but my kind are not much loved by your kinds. But before anything else you spoke of myths of me. I would very much like to hear them." she gave them her usual half smile.

Danica smiled at Ian and then looked back to Tia. "Well I've only heard a few rumors and myths from the old lore books and wizards of my people," said the dark elf holding her palms up, "but the short version of it, you kill anyone who dares disturb you and trespasses here."

"Oh, you know, the usual. Greed for my treasure," Tia gestured at her small cabin," and of course the others want my princess." at that she gestured at Ian and winked. "and then you have the ones who just want to make a name for themselves." she shrugged it was nothing new.

IC: "Oh yes, I know many myths. Of dragons, but, truly, I've never seen-or heard of-half dragons. Hmm...Well, anyway, the works, you know. You steal a princess, knights come, you die, yadayada. And there's the old treasure thing, of course."

He cast a weird glance at Tia. "Me? A princess? Maybe you missed this, but I'm a GUY. It's my jacket, right? Forms a bellshape at the end, and I suppose...Hey...!"

OOC: Alex spelled backwards. I get fantasy names from real names spelled backwards. 'Leah' becomes 'Hael', a perfect name for a princess, don't you think? I just liked Xela.

IC: Getting the joke, Ian smirked. He winked in her direction, and said, "Oh, indeed it does." He looked down at himself, and his rather poofy skirt-like-jacket, and curtsied. He spun around, allowing the jecket to drift gracefully up and down, and he broke out laughing at his own idiocy.

"All I need now is a tiara, right?"

Leaning down she quickly braids a misshapen garlend of flowers and puts it on his head. "Well, it seems I have a princess after all. What ever shall I do with her? Perhapes find a knight that is suitible to marry and fake my death just to rid myself of her." she said laughing and took Ian's hand and spun him around, "Shall we dance princess?" she mocks.

IC: Ian was quite enjoying the 'WTF?' expression on Danica's face, as he allowed Tia to whirl him around.

"Oh, I do declare, my dearest dragon!" Ian shrieked, mimicing a woman's voice, "Won't you whisk me off to YOUR castle instead?"

OOC: If ya haven't noticed, we just, ya know, kinda switched genders here...but it's so funny! Haha! Imagining this actually happening brings a huge smile to my face!

Ian allowed himself a second of such a pleasurable image, before lowering his eyes and backing away from Tia. He coughed, and rubbed the back of his head before smiling up at her.

"Uh, well, that was...fun." He thought of her offer for a minute and continued, "Of course, that would be wonderful! I'm worn out from all this dancing. Whew!"

He looked towards Danica. "What do you say, Danica?"

OOC: To clear it up, Ian is not gay...in case you were wondering. Gosh, that was funny though. They should do that again sometime. XD Hey, where's Guardian?
