![]() Yeah, you can pick your colors. It's good to have a new member. And pinks not taken. 10/06/2009 #121 |
![]() Her, MW, when is the party gonna reach your city? 10/06/2009 . Edited 10/06/2009 #122 |
![]() yes welcome tsukoyumi, new members are always welcome! 10/06/2009 #123 |
![]() New players are always welcome, and hot pink is certainly available. I'll look over your application as soon as its posted. Welcome to the forum. 10/06/2009 #124 |
![]() Sorry I've been off for a while. I had a lot of stuff to do this week and the power went out a couple of times at my house. 10/07/2009 #125 |
![]() no prob 10/07/2009 #126 |
![]() Looks like we're getting some cool new nations in the mix, should be fun! 10/09/2009 #127 |
![]() I just thought I'd attach this image to the thread. This is supposed to be what the WhiteFoot physicaly look like, http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs26/f/2008/181/0/0/Human_Morph___Cat_Woman_by_samborek.png. Anyway, this was the only image I could find that didn't look like the drawing of a two year old. 10/09/2009 . Edited 10/09/2009 #128 |
![]() Indeed. I am pleasantly surprised to see this forum burst into life. Of course, now that things are getting a little more crowded, there's going to be more competition for resources. It won't be so easy to rule huge tracts of land any more. Of course, depending on how things go I might expand the map, but that will be a ways in the future if I do. 10/10/2009 #129 |
![]() My new nation is going to have to expand west eventually, as they don't have a nearby body of water. 10/10/2009 #130 |
![]() This really is one of the best forums on the site, in my opinion. And by the way MW, if you plan to expand the map, it'd be pretty cool to have a string of islands. 10/10/2009 . Edited 10/10/2009 #131 |
![]() They could collect rainwater like mine, unless they live in a pretty arid area. 10/12/2009 #132 |
![]() Well, the Eerethea live in an area that's like the Great Plains of central North America. I've decided that their druids will just discover an underwater water deposit. 10/12/2009 #133 |
![]() Anything that works. 10/12/2009 #134 |
![]() cool, and remember I think My people found some dragonkin near you, you could use that if you want 10/12/2009 #135 |
![]() Dragonkin? Like full-on dragons or dragon-like people? 10/13/2009 #136 |
![]() Wyverns might be a better description. Modest dragon-like lizards who can fly and breath a bit of flame, but aren''t as massive or intelligent as dragons. Kross reported them at 12-1, so they're there and accessible to anyone who wants them. 10/13/2009 #137 |
![]() Oh, wow. Cause my guys are smack-dab in the middle of 12-1. I was just confused by KrossVD's wording. The only place I hear the word dragonkin used as a descriptor is in WoW. 10/13/2009 #138 |
![]() I suppose I should congratulate you then. Now you can have crazy screaming halflings who ride deer and miniature dragons. 10/13/2009 #139 |
![]() I suppose it's convenient that mini-people would use mini-dragons. 10/13/2009 #140 |
![]() Does anyone know what in the world happened to Minion? 10/13/2009 #141 |
![]() She tends to have a bad habbit of doing that sometimes. I will harass her. If she can't attend in at least a semi-timeful manner something might happen. Oh, and I should let you all know that I may, at random and unknown times, cause natural disasters to happen. Just for the fun of it. If one does happen, it'll be totally random to avoid bias, but I want you all to know its a possibility. 10/13/2009 #142 |
![]() Good stuff :) 10/13/2009 #143 |
![]() Those disasters will really make the game more realistic. 10/13/2009 #144 |
![]() yes, but I suggest you map them all out right now, where and when, to be completely unbiased 10/13/2009 #145 |
![]() By the way, what determines the weather conditions of the map? I'm not talking about disasters. When and where does it fog up, rain, or snow? These conditions will be very important to the game, especially if we get any wars started. 10/13/2009 #146 |
![]() This is a good point. I'll lay down some rules, and likely copy them somewhere. First of all, general weather is established by whoever is there first, much like other discoveries about the land (such as dragonkin). The Whitefoot settled in the northern forests and described them as very cold and often snowy, so that's the kind of weather we've got. Likewise, the Erethea tribe is in a large, dry plain populated by buffalo, so that's the weather around there. Of course, these conditions have to match the map, but there's certainly room for precedent. Now, as for specifics. The first time an aggressor marches into someone else's land, the defender sets the weather. However, after that the weather is in the control of the aggressor, by virtue of them being able to wait out fairer or preferred weather if they like. The aggressor should keep in mind that if they do decide to camp out and wait for better conditions, the defender may seize the initiative to counterattack or seek aid, and that if the attacker does not have a good supply line and resources available his men will likely suffer. Does that make sense? 10/13/2009 #147 |
![]() Yes, that makes perfect sense. On this point, for everyone to know, the weather conditions in New Survaekom territory are generally temperate and follow distinct but not extreme seasonal differences (fairly hot summers, rainy and occasionally snowy winters, etc.). 10/13/2009 #148 |
![]() Well, for anyone wishing to pass through Valbadu territory, it's relatively temperate for a mountainous region, though it suffers heavy snowfall higher up the mountain during late autumn and all of winter. The village near the river is obviously not in the higher altitude, so it suffers no snowfall. 10/13/2009 #149 |
![]() WhiteFoot weather is mostly like the Tiaga biome, since the mountains block out moisture. In Ashvinau it's more temperate, with sunny summers, but more rainy winters that what we have here. 10/13/2009 #150 |
