![]() I started this up to provide a central location for anyone that wants to provide additional material for your stories. It is open for anyone that wants to talk about their story. The original idea came from me commenting on my own writing after I had finished a chapter. It was something that I developed during my first series. It is sort of like those commentaries you see on DVD series. I expanded the idea to include everything that you would want that relates to your stories. Initially, I figure it'll just me and you and get an idea of what I mean. But it will available for anyone to use and hopefully the readers will eventually be able to find their favorite stories here and learn more about them and their authors. As writers there is a lot more that happens that does not end up appearing on the pages that everyone reads. So this will be a place to learn more and be able to questions to the authors. I will be providing commentaries on my stories, character backgrounds, histories and any additional information depending on the story, I'll be limiting Shift material due it not be complete. 10/28/2009 #1 |
![]() Thanks for creating and hosting this particular forum Eytha! It's a pity that others have not come to use your thread. If your offer is still good, I'll come back and offer portions of the Encyclopedia Shiipaica -in essence the story bible for "Flight of the Kestryl" (actually, now that I think about it, was a panel on webcomics at AWA, (authors of "The Devil's Panties" and "Con-Season") that got me back into writing fiction, and into writing and maintaining my blog) 12/30/2012 #2 |
![]() Yeah, I've been the only one to use it. But it is and will always be available for anyone to use. I sort of hope that as a couple people start using it and directing people here that more will end up using it. So by all means take advantage of it! 12/30/2012 #3 |
![]() Oh goodie! Well, as soon as I actually get somewhere with "FotK" I'll begin to put up some stuff, but posting too much too soon could result in spoilers even though it's only back story. *lol*. On another issue, there are some 109 Manga Forums here, and from the looks of it, only a very, very few have any activity, (to my mind Chopsticks' "What About the Manga Forum" appears the most active) and most of the forums are rpgs, which seems sad in a way. I wonder if there's a way to increase members' exposure and use of them? Or does most of the traffic route to the General or fiction genres? 12/31/2012 #4 |
![]() Interestingly enough, the manga forums are in greater volume than most of the genres. But a lot of them are small and inactive as you said. I've tried what I could by increasing the post count of my forum to give it greater visibility. But I can only do so much alone. I make links on my profile page to direct to this. Maybe directing it in the stories as well might help. But yes, I restrict the story information on put on here so that it does not exceed what is written. I do have far more planned out than is actually available or even written. 12/31/2012 #5 |
