![]() The Inner Man series consists of 27 episodes broken into 53 chapters plus one interlude. The story follows the life of Chiko Toyozama, a popular painter in Tokyo, who's life is turned upside down when he accidentally witnesses a criminal syndicate fighting in the streets. Now wanted dead, Chiko is on the run hiding from the syndicate in the body of an eight year old girl that was caused in a mind transfer accident. Chiko's must now struggle with the new life as a child while trying to keep his identity a secret from hitmen trying to hunt him down. Enjoy the drama, action and plenty of comedy. ![]() Episode 01 - Protection (Chapter 1) Chiko Toyozama, a popular painter in Tokyo, is celebrating the sale of his new painting and spends it in the company of some women. On the way to a new club they stumble across a shoot out between men in a building and on the street. Before they are able to react to much the building explodes bring an end to the fight and most of the men live, but not before killing the women with Chiko and leaving Chiko for dead as well. He wakes up in a hospital to find that he is still alive and that the men that tried to kill him were from a well known underground syndicate called the Awaking Dragons that control most of the Tokyo criminal activities. Chiko does not remember much and is eventually able to leave the hospital, escorted by government men for protection. However, when they reach his apartment they trigger a bomb destroying his apartment and killing his escort. He is picked up by the government agency Section 3 forced to protect them in their building from further attempts on his life. Against he's will he is placed in the witness protection program that have set up which will require him to have a new body cloned for him and hide in it until his safety can be assured. During the transportation of Chiko to the cloning labs another attempt on his life is made before they are chased through the streets of Tokyo. Chiko's driver, Mashiro, and his own protection manages to give the assassins the slip and safely bring him to the labs. In the labs he meets the head doctor of the facility and is shown his new body. The mind transfer to place his own mind into a new cloned body will prepared, but during the procedure something goes wrong. Chiko wakens inside the body of an eight year old girl. 1/14/2010 #2 |
![]() Episode 02 - Lost (Chapter 2) Chiko wakes up in the body of a little girl furious and hunts down the doctor that he blames for the mistake. Mashiro is able to mostly protect the doctor from being throttled by Chiko. The doctor is very distraught over what has happened and eventually explains to them that the body that Chiko now is in was a clone that he created specifically for himself. The body is special as the doctor explains informing them that he made the body stronger and better than the average human and in time as he adjusts to the new body he will have strength comparable to an adult or better. However, he also include the fact that the body is a magical girl's body, thus the reasoning behind what he did, which is apparently his hobby. The doctor also explains to them that he is only able to do one more transfer on Chiko due to technology limitations, meaning he is stuck in the girl's body until his life is no longer in danger. Chiko and Mashiro leave the labs with Mashiro continuing the original mission given to him to take Chiko to his new life. Chiko is depressed and quiet dealing with the reality that he is now facing. They arrive in Osaka at the new house that was meant for Chiko. They begin to settle in around the house exploring. Chiko soon learns that he has a ill rational fear of stairs that paralysis him in any attempt. This compounds on top of the other things weighing on him and he is unable to do deal with the stress running away. Mashiro learns from Section 3 that his mission has been updated and he has been declared the guardian for Chiko, but with Chiko missing he has to search the neighborhood for him. Recalling what Chiko told him on their drive to Osaka Mashiro is able to find Chiko at a park. Chiko confesses his fears to Mashiro and Mashiro reassures him as well as telling him that he won't be alone as that he will be remaining with him to protect him. 1/14/2010 #3 |
![]() Episode 03 - School (Chapter 3-4) Chiko is explained the new life that he must lead written out for him by Section 3. He is to live the life of Kohana Kitayama an eight year old child and that he will be attending elementary school. Chiko is not pleased by the new events, but is forced into the situation and enrolled in the local school. On Chiko's first day he is accidentally gets into a fight with several boys, but is stopped by the Principal Mrs. Toki who misunderstands the situation thinking he is being picked on, not believing the boys were getting beat up by a girl. Chiko is introduced to her new class and teacher Mrs. Shimasuke. He is quickly befriended by Sakura Namimura, his desk partner. Throughout the day Chiko tries to keep a low profile while making mistakes that threaten to reveal his true nature. By lunch Chiko is nearly exhausted by the attention that he has in the first day and trouble that he has caused himself. It is weighing on him heavily. At this time Mashiro shows up to deliver his lunch. Mashiro showy entrance and the stress Chiko has is too much for him and he runs out of the classroom. When Chiko eventually returns, recovered from his emotional state, he is bombarded by his classmates having been told a very tragic tale by Mashiro that explains his life and reasons for transferring into the school. The story ends up giving him even more attention and the sympathy of the entire class. 1/14/2010 #4 |
