![]() Well I vote for: Mr. Brightside-The Killers: "Jealousy, turning saints into the sea. Joking on your alibis, turning through sick lullabies. But it's just the price I pay. Destiny is calling me. Open up your eager eyes. 'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside." Now its your turn to pick ^_^ 3/12/2011 #241 |
![]() I'm going to pick Bryan Adams, Home Again - "With every raindrop falling, I hear the thunder calling like so many times before. Sometimes in the darkness I hear what my heart says, maybe one day I'll know what that feeling's for." It seems like it would be the easiest to write a story about. Well, it's probably just me, but yeah. 3/12/2011 #242 |
![]() Yay!!! 3/13/2011 #243 |
![]() Grr. I started typing, then it said that my reply has been posted or whatever, and I hadn't even pressed the button, and it wasn't up on the forum. Stupid ficpress!! Ah well. Okay, my reply did show up. I just got the email. Anyway. Quote. Right. Eh, I'm stuck between two... I think it's down to eeny-meeny-miny-mo... I'm listening to both songs first. I'll decide in a minute... I don't think that's helped, they're both good songs!! Okay, I've got to decide... I'll vote for: Florence + the Machines, Howl: Be careful of the curse that falls on young lovers, starts so soft and sweet and turns them to hunters. The other one I nearly picked was the Anna Blue one, if anyone was wondering, and I didn't do eeny-meeny-miny-mo in the end, I chose the one I thought would inspire a better story. XD 3/13/2011 #244 |
![]() Hello?....HEEEELOOOOOOOOOOOO!? oh no...the forum is dying again!!! need...defibrilator! charging *wryyyyyyyy* Clear! *BZZZZZZT* 4/02/2011 #245 |
![]() Hahah 4/02/2011 #246 |
![]() wow that's the fastest reply I've ever seen. you must've been on the site already, that or your computer is waay faster than mine, which is certainly a possibility. lol soooo...did everyone migrate to another fourm then? 4/02/2011 #247 |
![]() Haha I was on my e-mail :) I have high speed too! lol Well, I stayed, then totally forgot about this! Hehe, we should actually try the song thing now ;) 4/02/2011 #248 |
![]() to be honest, I'm feeling a little out of my element with contests like this. I've never done one before so I have nothing to go by and im not accustomed to having these kind of rules for writing something. I think the last time I wrote with restriction like this was back in my creatuve writing class years ago. Of course it is a challenge that would be interesting and hopefully get my creativity flowing again. Other than that I still can't seem to pick a song yet. Don't worry I'll pick one eventually lol 4/02/2011 #249 |
![]() lol. I know what your talking about! Pick pick pick away! Also, I want to know if anyone would be willing to team up with me? I just don't want to do it by myself. 4/02/2011 #250 |
![]() Well I could work with you if you want. Sounds like fun to work as a team on this, as long as it's allowed, though I don't see why not but then again I suppose it isn't up to me. I worked with a friend on Fanfiction.net so I have some experience with it. that way it might be easier to worj within the confines of these story rules. 4/02/2011 #251 |
![]() I think its allowed.... hmm. I have never worked with anyone, so you may need to be the guide! 4/02/2011 #252 |
![]() well the extent of how I worked with my friend on Fanfiction.net is that we discussed what we were going to work on and we made sure we agreed on it. then we each did one part of the work and collaborated with each other and each edited our work. Our project was a continuing fanfic story where both of our OCs were in both of our stories in various chapters and we always sent each other our chapters with the other's OCs in them and edit them so that our OCs were better understood by each other so that way we wouldn't get the other's character wrong when we wrote about them. depending on what song is chosen and what kind of story we end up writing we will likely have a system where we will likely be sending drafts to each other and proofread and edit each others work. So let's get started with what we know and how we can apply it. I myself have been writing for around 9 years and I specialize in Fantasy and Science-Fiction genres. I'm also good at editing so I can do the major editing for the story if that suits you. So what are your strengths as a writer? you can PM me with the info if you'd rather not discuss it on a forum and I'll PM back later, but I'm good with discussing it on the forum if you are. 4/02/2011 #253 |
![]() Hi peoples!! Sorry... I didn't migrate to another forum, actually. I just thought that if people were too busy to reply, then that was fine, and I wouldn't bother them unless it seemed like they'd all forgotten. I kept meaning to come on and kinda say 'Hey, do you guys remember this forum?' but I never got round to it... XD Anyways, thinking of being busy, I wrote a novel for National Novel Writing Month last November, and if I want a proof copy of it, I have to finish editing it and submit it before an unknown date in June, I think, and that's a pretty big job, and we're going away more than I'd like this year (out of all the years we could go on holiday as much as possible, it had to be this one...), and then I have mock exams to revise for in a few week, and then in some subjects I have real exams after those. So not much pressure... :P So I might not be taking part in the contest, but I will judge if wanted. I'll definitely try to write something, though. :D BTW, you're on fanfiction? Awesome! I almost never go on mine... I've made Fictionpress my home... XD On a contest on this forum, I once tried to work with someone. We never got anything started... I thought of loads of ideas, but when I asked which she liked best, she was just like, "I don't mind which we do" so we never made any decisions even on ideas before we started writing... We're doing a story at the moment in Creative Writing Club where we all have a character and they're all on this train and the train crashes and a load of stuff happens and we each tell the story from our character's point of view. We have werewolves and fallen angels and vampires and princesses and detectives and a serial killer and all sorts in that train, it's great.... My character's telepathic and apparently I said she had a magic scarf but I don't remember that... She definitely has a scarf... But it's going to be quite hard, because of the amount of people doing it. Yeah, I just thought that seemed relevant. It probably wasn't. Oh well. XD 4/03/2011 #254 |
![]() That was a LONG post! I got lost more than once...XD Pppsh...relevance is overrated. 4/03/2011 #255 |
![]() Indeed. How many other people are there doing this? I'm sure we had more than four of us earlier. I'm just asking cos since Arashi and Emily are writing together, I was wondering if we could make it compulsive that you write with a partner. But I know that at least Tearsofwolves was going to take part, or was at least discussing it with us, so if there's five of us, that wouldn't be fair unless we found someone else joined. If she's still going to participate. And of course a contest with five or six or more stories is more interesting than a contest with two or three stories. It's just an idea. And its disadvantages. But whatever. I just wondered what people think of it, is all. XD 4/04/2011 #256 |
![]() Haha, I got lost too ^_^ 4/04/2011 #257I think the same with the amount of stories going. We need more than two or three. It just wouldn't be fun. Well...as fun. There was only five of us? Wow, it seamed like more. Haha. I just thought something! oh yeah. Okay, back to what I was saying. this has nothing to do with what what we were talking about! Woot woot! Okay, so I was thinking (because of my sister) She said I was the youngest person on here. I was just wanting to know if thats true... sorry. I have put the word distraction to shame! Haha But yeah, I was just wondering if thats so...Okay so back to what we were talking about before my.. oddness :) I think I know someone who could join us if needed. She hasn't posted a story yet, but I think for her first she would be like cha-yeah I'll do it! Haha, so I have someone else if needed =) And everyone knows how to do the bold and all that right? Just wondering in case you need to know. Fiction press is being sill and making it hard for us... well me anyway :) And have any of yo read The Hunger Games? I FREAKING LOVE THOSE BOOKS! *Sigh* Okay, I'm going to leave now... you know, before I am to crazy... haha. Don't want me getting out of hand! That would be too crazy and you would all be like "She is to crazy for my awesome awesomeness Ahha *run around screaming*" Thats right! I just called you awesome.. okay, I'll leave you know. Bye XD |
![]() What? Okay, that's weird. All the Italics and Bold and stuff have disappirated... Well, I'm fourteen. Nearly fifteen. Oh, God, that's scary. I'd rather not think about that, thanks. XD I'VE READ THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!! I know, right? SO awesome! I was ages between reading the first and second ones, because I frankly didn't want to. I didn't see how there could possibly be a sequel so I didn't thought it would be any good, but then my friend made me and I'm so glad she did. The second and the third ones were better than the first one - although I really didn't like the ending. Have you read the last one? Sorry. This has absolutely nothing to do with this forum. XD And is anyone doing Script Frenzy? Just wondering. I wasn't going to, but then it appears that I have less than a page of a script I started just now saved on the computer... XD I'm not even going to try and get to 100 pages, I'm just doing it for the heck of it this year. Last year I did try - and I failed at 27 pages. Well, I gave up. Anyone know what on Earth I'm talking about? No? To be honest, I'm not surprised. At all. BTW, Emily, can I just ask who gave you sugar? 4/04/2011 #258 |
![]() Well, I'm 13... started the account when i was like, 12 and a half, thinking "Yeah, well, it'll be okay soon, anyway. Why wait?" So, yeah. I've seent he books around but I never got around to reading them...I'll check 'em out, if they're so awesome! 4/04/2011 #259 |
![]() Haha. I may not be the youngest yet... unless you tern 14 this year before December 4, suckishLEMONADE. 4/04/2011 #260I haven't finished the third book yet :'( I really want to get it done though 'cause L-O-V-E it! And I have no idea what you were talking about at then end there X) I kinda got lost... And about the sugar...hehe Tim Hortons is my dearler. I went to that magical land of Ice Caps... *Sigh* |
![]() Ah, wait, never mind! I'm an October baby. XD 4/04/2011 #261 |
![]() Damnit! Two! Your two months older than me... darn, I am the youngest. 4/04/2011 #262 |
![]() Nice language, Em. So nice. (I reserve the rights to say that since we are sisters) 4/04/2011 #263 |
![]() Thanks Monica! Now I know your account name! Woot woot! 4/04/2011 #264 |
![]() Hello. So you're Emily's sister? Interesting. :D I'm Beth and I'm English and I'm nearly 15 and I'm an Apirl baby! Yay!! Actually, no, it's quite scary that I'm nearly 15. I'm quite happy being 14, thank you very much. XD Ahem. Just thought I ought to introduce myself there. XD Now I just feel awkward. Imma leave. Bye. XD 4/04/2011 #265 |
![]() Lol 4/04/2011 #266 |
![]() HOOOOOLY crap I'm like the Vic Mignogna of this group lol (assuming some people are big anime nerds like me and actually know who that is :P) and by Vic Mignogna I mean I've got like ten years on the youngest, and yet I don't feel old cuz I know I'm young at heart xP. Never heard of the Hunger Games, reading the title makes me think of Lord of the Flies for some reason even though it's probably not like that at all lol. if you think 15 is scary, wait till your about to turn 18, then 20, then 21. THOSE were scary lol :P well if we don't have enough people I certainly don't want someone to be at a disadvantage. if we need mor ppl we can wait on the contest I suppose until we get more or just go back to working individually. It's all up to the rest of you of course. 4/04/2011 #267 |
![]() I'm turning fifteen in July. Oh, and I've read the Hunger Games and I've got to say that it's one of the coolest series EVAR! I only liked the first two, though. The third one was just a bunch of Katniss whining about how the rebels are "using" her. And then she ends up with Peeta, and I was a huuuge Gale fan. Ah well. Anyways, I'm up for the contest. I think I'd rather judge, though. I have too many stories going on already, so I don't really want to start another. But I'll participate if you guys don't have enough people. 4/04/2011 #268 |
![]() OHMYGOD SAME!!!!! I LOVE Gale!!! ...And I-am-happy hasn't read the last book... I just hope you didn't read the previous post, Emily... My friend told me something that happened in the last book before I'd read it, too. But I'm not saying what. XD I have too many stories going on too, and I should be revising about now... Meh... Do I really have to? Ugh. Nah. In a minute. XD This song is boring. Yes, I did just dis Owl City. What can I say? I love the rest of the songs, but I don't have enough love for all of them as well as the 369 that are on my ipod. Actually, it's not such a bad song. Not my favourite, though. And now I'll shut up. Because revising isn't all that bad. I just wrote, like, a very long paragraph about not much in particular - mostly how Taylor Swift wrote a song about not wanting to grow up aged about 19 or 20 and I already realised that and how I don't want to revise. But then I thought - do people really want to know this? And then I thought, nah, they don't. XD 4/05/2011 #269 |
![]() Oh I read it. But its all good 'cause Monica told me! 4/05/2011 #270Haha, but I love Peeta, so cute *sigh* I think I L-O-V-E Finnick though! |
