![]() Hi! Glad to have you here! 3/03/2010 . Edited 3/03/2010 #1You host, frugale, dreamed of a way to facilitate dialogue between fellow fpress short poem and haiku writers, and here it is! Basho's Tea Lounge is meant to be a place where poets with an interest with haiku can gather and exchange on their experiences, their works and share their thoughts on the creative process. There will be friendly challenges and prompts to get our creative juices flowing :) Here are a few, very few basic rules I encourage all to follow, in order to foster positive experiences on the forum. :) ===---===---=== 1) If you want to share ideas for prompts or contests, you should suggest them first in the Challenge Discussion thread, rather than in a new thread of its own. 2) There are two kinds of challenges: prompts and contests. A prompt is a theme for which people are encouraged to create one or more haiku or short poems for. Prompts are not bound by a specific time-frame or by a post limit; you can submit as many poems as you want for a given prompt, even years after the said prompt was posted.A contest is similar, except that writers can only submit one piece of work within a specific time frame. While anyone can suggest a contest idea, the contest would have to be regulated by a mod. 3)Freedom of Speech, Tolerance, and Respect! Let's keep this a peaceful forum and take our fights elsewhere! Also, let's express our opinions diligently, without animosity. Mods won't hesitate to kick butts if a member is being rude or disrespectful. ===---===---=== Everything else is pretty much left to your discretion. Feel free to create your own topics, to chat or ask for a beta or to talk about writer's block or anything! Again, these rules are not meant to be enforced strictly, they only exist to provide everyone with a smooth forum experience. I'd love to hear from you, and hear your thoughts, suggestions, questions on the matter! There is always room for improvement! Your host, frugale |
