![]() I realized this forum was missing a place to chat about anything and everything, and just hang out at, so I took the liberty of adding this. As the forum grows, this'll probably be used quite a bit. ^_^ 6/04/2010 #1 |
![]() Ah, this seems cool! ^^ I was just wondering what kind of music everyone likes (It seems random but I've noticed that people who like to write tend to listen to similar things ^^") 6/04/2010 #2 |
![]() Classical all the way, with a bit of odds and ends here and there. Basically so long as it isn't country or rap, I'll listen to it. Some of my favorite bands are Coldplay, Linkin Park, Switchfoot, and a favorite composer of mine would be David Lanz. 6/04/2010 #3 |
![]() My little sister's a fan of classical music too ^^ I like some Mozart but that's about it. What do you dislike about Rap and Country? (Not that I'm a particularly a big fan of either) Did you know that there was a genre called Alternative Country? Linkin Park is awesome, as is Coldplay. Haven't really heard enough of Switchfoot to judge them ^^" What type of music do they play? 6/04/2010 #4 |
![]() Hmm I enjoy listening to classical, japanese pop, and gothic rock. Favorite bands at the moment: David Garrett, Delain, Nightwish, Carolina Liars. 8/02/2010 #5 |
![]() Great idea, footsteps! :D Hm we have quite the classical crowd here! I'm curious to see just which classical composers everyone likes! I'm into Camille Saint-Saens Carnaval of the Animals at the moment. Each piece has a strong personality, if you will, and they really get you in the mood to write or just be creative. Alternative country? Cool! I'll have to check it out. Do you have some major names to recommend? For me I used to dislike certain genres (like country, for example), until I realized some bands I really liked had a distinct country/western influences, like The Shins or The White Stripes. My favored genres are indie rock and electronica, but I like a lot of different things. ChibiPianist, you mentionned Japanese pop. Who are your favorite artists? 8/04/2010 #6 |
![]() I like all music, but here are some artists and songs that touch my heart with their music. Nobuo Uematsu (greatest music in the world) Pink Floyd The Who Dimmu Borgir Jethro Tull and an assortment of classical musical and plays. One of my favorite pieces of music is the intermezzo from the opera I Pagliacci, its a very powerful and filled with a vast array of emotions. 9/08/2010 #7 |
![]() Oh gosh, I've been dead so long XD I would blame my AP teacher, who has been working my class and I like slaves for the past month and life in general as well, but excuses don't apply here! XD Piptik: I don't know why, but rap just annoys me. There's too much going on, and I just can't think when trying to listen to it. Country has too much of a twang, I can listen to some people, but other's voices get too obnoxious. As for Switchfoot, it's similar to coldplay, but a bit more pop-ish. Thank you Frugale :) Hmm, I'm not familiar with most of the bands and composers I'm seeing listed. I'll have to check them out. 9/08/2010 #8 |
![]() wow, I don't believe I've never posted here. My favorite artists are Skillet and Disciple, who happen to belong to my favorite styles of music (duh) death metal and scream-o, but when I'm writing, I also listen to Evanescence and these three songs: Piano Man by Billy Joel, Major Tom by Peter Schiling, and Final Countdown by Europe. 9/10/2010 #9 |
![]() Happy New Year to all! Best wishes for 2011. May our muses be inspired! 1/01/2011 #10 |
