Alex looked over at Desserey and the clutch of eggs next to her, then closed his eyes and sighed. What if it had been her...

Damon slammed his head forward, growling loudly and angrily at the thought of an intelligent beast doing this... It made him boil with rage... "Fine then! It's a good thing I don't have much blood to spill!" He flared his tattered wings and pushed off the ground in a single loud woosh as he headed for the cliffsides...

Scarlett looked after him painfully, wishing he hadn't left...

Addison lay a hand on her neck, looking to Alex. "Go. I'll stay with the females."

Alex nodded and followed after his brother...

Damon rushed through the darkness of the oncoming night, his long body angrily twitching slightly as he headed straight for the cliffs to see what was there...

Alex nearly had trouble keeping up with his younger, healthier brother. He didn't know how this was going to be, but he knew it wasn't going to be good...

There was a slithering sound from the darkness of the rocks. A tail possibly?

A flapping of wings. A snap of teeth. A shuffling of feet.... multiple times... from multiple directions. Several dozen pairs of eyes stared down at them from the rocks. Large mouths glimmered with sharp teeth, stained with blood.....

a very familiar blood.

Damon hissed right back, his eyes blazing with anger as he extended his claws as long as they would go, his tounge flicking out, then back in...

"I can wait here all day, cowards, although I can't say I blame you for hiding. Show yourselves!!"

One moved forward, the rest stayed silent. It was a big black dragon. Bigger than Damon by a bit. He flashed his white teeth, his eyes a deep blood red. "This is our territory now. Your little broad was a warning. Clear out... or there will be consequences. The first death will be her. And don't forgett this. We are only few of the many..."

"This territory was claimed by us!" snapped Damon angrily, "If you wish to take it from us, your leader must fight me." According to the law of the wild, if he did, that would mean that the loser would give up rights to the land...

The dragon smiled a cocky, wicked smile. "I'm sure she would be glad to..."

(There is a little black and white bundle asleep under my hand. Her gentle purring melodic with her slow heartbeat and quiet breathing. Only an hour ago this little bundle lay trembling on a roadside after suffering from being crushed beneath the treads of a tire. I thank God she's alive, and pray she'll survive...

"Take me to her then!!!" Damon snapped angrily, flaring his tattered wings as he stood on his hind legs, a direct challenge of the other dragons' dominence...

(Tenth Street? She is well... oh, but I cannot get an IM. Not now :( Parents... ugh. Oh well. just means I have to put more depth into my writing on here. I'm sorry I was gone, not lke it affected you really, ha ha... [Jack the Ripper reference... oh what that paper has done to me...] but I was assigned this horrificly stupid assignment in english. Not to mention that, but I had a speech assigned the same time... and more homework on top of that.. yea. I had to go to revival four nights of this week... no time to work... and then I stayed up till 1 on one night and 11 on the other... and failed the bible test because I didn't have time to study... so yea. frustrating. :'(

The dragon hissed as he began to circle. "Shall we do this now, or wait for a more... proper setting..."

The skeletal dragon hissed as he reared up again and then slammed his claws onto the ground, exhaling a bit of the black smoke that signifyed his dark, corroding breath, as he gritted his fangs... "Now. Or I swear I will kil all of you."

"As much as I would like to kill you, what good would it do for you... why waste your time with me? My fiance would be a much more... equal targett..."

The other dragons began to circle him as the large black one was speaking. Many were bigger than Damon...

Damon didn't seem to care as his tattered wings fluttered a bit, his eyes narrow and angry... Pain was his friend... And he had no flesh to rend... "Show me to my opponant. NOW."

"Go fetch her," one dragon whispered to another...

Damon's wings twitched annoyedly as he sat and waited, his maw dripping slightly with the dark substance that made up his body and held his bones together...

There was a sudden flapping of wings and then the mountainside trembled as a huge red dragon burst over the mountaintop, catching on its peak like any would on a spire. She was nearly twice if not three times as big as he, and had an uncanny resemblance of someone familiar.

"Who's the fresh meat?" she asked, eyeing him...

"I have no idea, considering I have no meat on my body..." Damon hissed softly, as he stepped forward uncaring of her large size as he gritted his teeth gently... "You nearly killed my mate."

"Twas a shame. I really wanted her too. She was so young... such fresh meat... I would've killed her completely just to watch how you reacted..."

"That woul ha be been stupid... You would have given your life just for some sweet meat and a bit of entertainment..." Damon growled, snapping at her rather angrily...

"Oh but it would have been worth it," she whispered... "Your expressions... they're so entertaining..."

"I will feast on your heart, you harpy..." hissed Damon loudly, as he stepped forward, perking himself up as straight as he could to assert dominance...

She spread her wings and roared. "And if you lose, I'll kill them all, starting with your little mate... and this time, I'll do it slowly.."

"Ha. I'd love to see you try..." Damon muttered, as he began to circle her, unphased by her roar as he was fueled by blind, angry rage...

She hissed, moving down off the peak slowly, her eyes blazing...

Damon stood his ground, rearing up slightly when she got near as he glared, gritting his long fangs and waiting for the first move...

She growled and then lashed her tail out in a strike..
