Topic: reivewers
So I have a question. Why is it that nobody leaves reviews? 3 people added my story to their favorites, but only one left a review. It's incredibly frustrating, because I don't know if people liked it, or what needs to be improved. I'm the type of person that wants to know what you thought, and what you didn't understand, so I can look back and fix things! So any advice on how to get more reviews?

The long and short of things: people are lazy.

I have only four reviews and zero favorites on my new story so far.. It is frustrating when people don't review. I feel your pain. :[

If you guys want reviews, here's a good place to start: Pay it forward If you review someone there, they will review you back.

I just want everyone to read it more than reviews. I know that's big, but that's me. I like that idea though. *Waves to fractured again* - not stalking you by the way, I posted before you here. So happens, we always meet. Ooh.

Note: someone said my profile sounded like a guy, so I've been trying to sound different here and there. Ha ha.

Gasp!I didn't notice you there! I was just pimping a way to get more people to review and also have it pay off :O

So who of us is the stalker (because someone has to be! .)

And you're *not* a guy? *surprised*

I never said I was guy/girl. Under concerto, I'm neither guy or girl anyway. By the way, I can use imagination to do both sides. So if I purposely reply, since I'm not talking too randomly or lightly, I can construct either. The truth is obvious anyway.

No one is a stalker. It's not by chance either. Everything has it's meaning and reason - only that you know it or not.

Are you a guy? I haven't been trying to think about it that's all.

I don't really believe in meaning in the "destiny" type of way. Other more human-related meanings as well as chance I can believe in.

And I am female. Often mistaken as male on forums... :/

Sure, you can do the honours. I actually hate advertising like that. It sounds a bit awkward, but I'm changing too. I've done a...little. Perhaps you'll notice that. But since you started, and by the way, you made me read your story. Not made, but anyhow.

R Squared.

Yes sir. I admit I'm part of that group. I just come to play along.

Well, I'm a pimp, so it comes naturally to me.

Har har...?

And my story? Perfectionist you will fall asleep after a paragraph I bet! (As I said somewhere before; I have too many flaws in my writing)

Hey, we have taken over this topic!

Are you saying alien invasion?

This is a romance stories forum I think? Well I love romance, but hate it either - not the genre, because too many people write the same things. I hate repeating myself. I hate seeing things like that. So, do something about it! It's not just this guy and this girl...or (and slash...give me a break)...sorryz

I think you have good language (from reading a bit - might be wrong), good English type of thing - but not so much the fancy and kicks. And perhaps the ideas too? Maybe I should say and you should write? Maybe not.

We've taken over everything.

Remember Review Revolution.

I am saying we own everyone now.

I dislike the clichéd romance where everything is predictable. I also hate when things happen TOO fast. I want it to feel real, and I want to feel for the characters as well. Humour goes well with romance, but it'd be nice to see some darker atmosphere to it as well (without the suicidal teenager, thankyouverymuch).

Good language does not equal a good writer. Sadly...

I hate anything that is predictable. Watching television the other day - some series - I guessed every bit. Well by now I can guess a lot of them out there. So, I don't watch a lot of them. I haven't done any suicidals yet. I can't seem to do human in writing, I can talk and it can be funny - like in real world, but writing it is hard. Though lately, a few people said it was a little funny.

Most of the time I don't do simple stories. Never so simple. That's boring.

Wrong forum? Where were you and what were you on about?

It was from "V for Vendetta"! How dare you not recognize the words? :O

I don't like predictable either. Twists are essential in a story. Either that, or an unclear motive with the whole story.

A good series I love to watch is LOST. It has many characters (I love huge casts), it has character development, it has death, it has mystery (a genre I adore when not done about the who-killed-who fashion) and it has countless twists. Of course, it's not a romance series, but I don't think I watch any romance series...

Romance movies tend to be romance/comedy and they usually suck, in my opinion.

And you have a new chapter out, haven't you? *need to go and read*

Seems like you infected that asterisks thing from me. I told you I don't remember words. I remember a lot of other things.

I've seen a lot of romance - pure romance that aren't comedies. There are usually sad. Yeah, it's longer this time too.

I don't comment on genre yet again - it depends on what the actual thing is. Me trying to be objective again - and I won't comment on anything until knowing it in it's entirety. Reminds me of Hurry Toddler (sorry HP fans, had to make fun of it).

Yeah, it would be great to have more people write reviews, but that's just wishful thinking. People don't write them because (a)they're in a hurry (b)they're unimaginative (c)they simply love messing with your mind and dangling the bait right in front of your nose.

I would like to get more reviews, but I'm actually guilty of not leaving reviews myself. Most of the time it's because I can point out SO MANY flaws in someone's story, I'm afraid of being too harsh or hurting someone's feelings. And sometimes the writer is just younger and isn't quite as advanced in their writing yet.

Not sure if this has been asked before (sorry if it has...I'm new to fictionpress), but when you post up the first chapter of a new story, how many reviews does it usually receive?

I've just posted my FIRST fiction (Title: The Art of Seduction; Author: missAtoZ) and it has only received 1 review so far...I guess I'm impatient but I can't help but feel slightly disheartened.

If any of you have time, check it out and let me know whether you think I should continue it...pretty please?

I'm pretty new to fictionpress, too. You are not alone! I've only been getting one or two reviews per chapter myself. I suppose the key is to just be patient- and pimping them on forums helps, too.

Consider it reviewed- us newbs have to stick together!

Lol, I like that. "... us newbs." It's cute. =3

Patience is a virtue, right? And yes, we do get disheartened if there are not many reviews for our stories. But... you hope and you wait.

I do notice I have a lot more reviews for my FanFiction.Net stories than my FictionPress.Com stories.
