Isabelle looked around the town she had just moved to. She was not happy.

Charlotte walked down town. There was never anything interesting happening here.

Isabelle walked to the library. If she couldn't have any fun in town at least she could read about other people having fun.

Charlotte yawned and went in the library. Maybe she could find a good movie to watch.

Isabelle was looking at the books on horror.

Charlotte looked at a book of ghost stories.

Charlotte

"This is a good book! Wish I had some friends to tell these stories to!"

Charlotte looked at some more books. She was so bored.

Isabelle saw Charlotte reading a scary book.

"Hey, that looks good!"

"You like ghost stories too?"

(Mine are fine. Yours are little. ;D)

Isabelle

"Sure. I'm Isabelle. What's your name?"

(Mine are fine show off! Yours are too big! Pbbbttt!)

Charlotte

"I'm Charlotte. Maybe we could have a ghost story party?"

(Can I join too please?)

(Go ahead. And enough with your crazy argument.)

(Just be somebody at the library that hears us talking about ghost stories and come and talk to us.)

Isabelle

"That sounds really cool! When should we have it? Tonight?"

A quiet little girl was sitting neer them.

"Um...hi. I'm Nicole. I like ghost stories too. Kind of. I meen if they're not too scary. Um...Halloween is my birthday."

Charlotte

"Really? You were born on Halloween? Okay! Let's have a ghost story party as soon as we can! I'll ask my mom. You guys ask your moms. Maybe we can have it tonight. Tomorrow's Saturday so we can stay up as late as we want!"

Isabelle

"Okay! I'll tell my mom when I get home! And you were really born on Halloween? That's awesome!"

A chubby boy with glasses watched them. He wanted to join their party but was sure they wouldn't want a boy there.

(Probably not. You should have played a girl. Blah!)

Another girl was brushing her hair. She liked ghost stories but liked people to think she was cool even more. She tried to think how she could join the ghost story party without looking like a dweeb. She decided to act like it bored her and she'd dare the others to try to scare her. She got up slowly being really cool, and walked over to them.

"Ghost stories? Really? In this day and age? I'll bet you guys couldn't scare me if you tried. I'm Allison, by the way."

Charlotte

"Oh yeah? I'll bet I could scare you. Easy."

Isabelle

"Yeah, if you want to join us, be nice."

Charlotte

"We'll have a contest and see who can tell the scariest story!"

Allison flicked her hair behind her back and started brushing it again.

"Oh, a challenge, huh? Shall we play for money or just for laughs?"

Charlotte was sure she'd win but she didn't have much money.

"What do you want to bet?"

Nicole

"I don't have any money."
