"All sorts." She blew on her tea. "Rollerskating, going to the park, daydreaming. That sort of thing. What about you?"

"Reading, walking through woods...that's about it."

"What sort of books did you like?"

"Fiction, mostly."

"Any specific genre?"

"No, I read them all..."

She nodded.

"......"

She stood up.

"Is this how our lives are going to be for the next fifty years? One long, awkward silence?"

"Ah...?" He blinked.

"We've barely spoken to each other. I know most couples aren't in love, but can't we at least be friends if we have to live together?"

"I...suppose...?"

"Thank you." She stepped towards him and kissed his cheek gently, trying to be friendly.

"I have absolutely no idea, I was aiming for your cheek,"

"Well... I'm your wife, I thought I ought to do something," she replied.

"I thought you weren't comfortable with that?" He blinked.
