writergurlLWThis is a nice thread idea...sad nobody hasn't posted here yet. My manga story is my first attempt at a manga and it seems to be going really well. It's about how a demon hunter (I know, completely overused) named Kimiko Anenokiji finds this boy named Akio takahashi and he turns out to change her life forever. So you mentioned us talking about out characters? Kimiko Anenokiji is a very serious person. She's so wrapped up in trying to get promoted in her job that she basically has no life. She hasn't partied, she hasn't had a relationship in years, she doesn't have friends...she has no life. But Kimiko is a very beautiful and powerful girl with high expectations. Akio Takahashi..well, I can't give any information about him away. He's the character that you must learn about upon reading it. Let's just say he's a good actor... Saruwatiri Asuka is a very goofy character that has quite a crush on Kimiko. He doesn't like Akio from the start. He's never really at work much because of hangovers and whatnot but the organization can't afford to fire him because he has power and moves that no other can really match. He's even two numbers higher promoted then Kimiko, and that devastates the crap out of Kimiko. Reiko Shimizu is a nurse at the intensive care unit but she should get more credit than that. Maybe fighting is not her thing, but she's extremely smart when it comes to computers and investigating. And she's also very nice. Shiori Nanaho (Might change last name) is a very repulsive girl who likes to be number one. She's constantly competing with Kimiko and never backs off for a second. If you need a liar, just find Shiori. But the thing is, she's also apart of the exorcist organization and so she's competing with a girl on her team. She definately intensifies the plot, seeing as how she dislikes Akio Takahashi as well. |

truthordealBefore I talk about my characters, I would like to say that if you are just going to read and review my story with a generic "keep up the good work" just to get a review of your own, then don't even bother.Hitokiri Sabuno is a samurai. He and his family were attacked by the Yakuza when he was young. His parents were killed. After getting shot in the leg two years later, he meets his first real friend Mitzuki. He and she went through the Academy together, and are on a common squad now. After another attack by the Yakuza, Hitokiri swears his revenge on the man connected to both attacks. He is in a feud with one of his squadmates, Kenji Dumales. Mitzuki Mica is a Kunoichi, a female ninja, who's specialty is tracking down people or things. She was attacked by the Yakuza when she was about 9, and her life was saved by Hitokiri. The two of them became friends, and stayed friends until Mitzuki's first boyfriend, Cicero came between the two of them. Mitzuki was almost raped by Cicero, but narrowly escaped. Mitzuki ends up developing a bit of a crush on her and Hitokiri's squadmate, Kenji Dumales. Kenji Dumales is an Alchemist. He is able to move rocks, freeze water, or control fire, among other things. He has an IQ of over 170 and enjoys poetry. He was abused by his father as a child. His mother, who always came to his rescue against his father, died of Tuberculosis when he was ten. Almost immediately after her funeral, Kenji's father announced his engagement to another woman. Since then, Kenji has hated his guts. Kenji also develops a crush on Mitzuki, and a bit of a temper with Hitokiri. |

writergurlLWI won't do that truth or deal, I promise. When (and if) I get the time, I will definately look into it. If you read my manga, maybe you will know that I have much to improve upon. Reading another's manga might really help me. |

NeoMiniTailsUmm, it'lll also help your story by asking questons about other's stories and then them asking you questions to see if they'll like it or not, like an interview. -smiles-My story Miracle Knights is very interesting once you actually get to read it. It is more romance than it is adventure even in the most adventure scene... the emotional part of it or the symbolic part is strongly for the those who love romance... while its not doused in fluffy moments or needless kisses... the emotional part of the story is what makes it. It has a strong plot which makes each character go through thier own developement as the story goes and you'll learn more about each one as the story goes on. My character introduction: Catsy: She is every bit like her name, cat-like. She's smooth, sweet, mysterious, and very independent. A girl who is in love but chooses work over any sort of love even though she has figured that she is in love with Ken. However, being in love with someone and knowing it doesn't mean stubbornness won't keep her from admitting it. She has downright not allowed herself to allow those emotions to be known to known... though everyone around them seem to know that they like eachother. Ken: Ken is a movie start/singer... slash anything a star can be, it seems. He is slightly rude, stubborn, protective, kind, and hides a lot inside but hates when Catsy hides things inside. He doesn't act very smart though he is and can be considered a pretty boy that is determined to keep any promise he makes. He's a person that hates to break promises and is very honest with everyone and easily makes friends. Playful and sarcastic and is loyal to the end, he strives to make everything right in his eyes. Haji: He is cold and distant and seems to always be hiding something form everyone. Not much is known about him other than a touch of his hand caused catsy to have a horrible visiion or so she think and seems to like Mis'o'chi. ( my otehr story tells you about how he became who he is) Mis'o'chi: Flirty, rather cold, and a bit of a sexist, she may come off aas mean and disturbingly into herself but she is not one who doesn't have her reasons. She has had a bad childhood and rrefuses to allow herself to have the shame that came upon when she was younger. Her best friend is melanie and though she tends to get mad at Mel (as she sometimes calls her), she'll knowck somebody out for getting mad at her in fornt of her. Very girly but with a strong personality and she hides behind the mask of being mean and cold towards people to hide the pain she feels inside. In real life, she is kind and sweet to everyone and has always wished nothing but good for everyone. She doesn't smile very much and is very sompetitive... doesn't like Catys because hse believes she's trying to atke eveyrthing away form her. Extremely smart... maybe even genius. Melanie: A blonde, the blondest blonde of them all. She is very popular and likes to stay safe in her inner circle (the circle ot being her peers but actally meaning her life culturally) which is why she can't understand Mis'o'chi most of the time. She is a tomboy and loves nature... climbing trees is her type of fun. Anything can make her laugh like the word "baka" meaning idiot in japanese but she refuses to believe that and thinks it means "dodo." You learn more about everyone through teh story... the beginning og the story they are a whole different character by the end of the story. I'm still in the beginning though. |

FreakierThanThouWell, might as well introduce mine. Your characters sound cool, people. :)Aida: She's the main character. Her dream has always been exploring and seeing the outside world. She won't let anything prevent her from reaching that goal. She's extremely stubborn and can't admit when she's wrong, even if it might hurt someone. She's not above lying to get her way but always manages to convince herself that she's doing the right thing. If Aida does something wrong, it'll take a very long time for her to see it. Zaniah: Aida's best friend. Calm, no-nonsense type of girl. But underneath it all she's a little insecure and is always looking for approval. She isn't usually very emotional, but when it comes to romance she's basically a flood of tears. Tove: The leader. Businesslike and rude, he doesn't like people and won't stand for any disrespect. Tends to hold a grudge and is very efficiant. Tove will stand up for what he believes in, no matter what. Even if that means standing against his friends. Definitly the practical one. J'ela: The youngest of the group, sweet and 'everbody's little sister'. Everyone looks out for her, and she loves everbody. Slightly naive and doesn't understand why her teammates dislike each other. J'ela is kind, but not very efficiant, and tends to accidentally start fights when everyone wants to protect her. Peka: Grouchy, rude, and antisocial. Somewhat mean, but extremely efficiant and won't let anything get in her way. She doesn't like looking weak to her friends. Tach: Cheerful and joking, Tach is the loyal one. He's not the brightest character, but he's not afraid to show it or ask for help. He's obsessed with keeping the team together, and worries about his friends. Even more than J'ela, he hates to see people fight and is always the cause of a moment that makes everything seem alright. Goofy but good. | #8 Mar 17th 2007, 5:48pm . StormerLooks like I've got some reading to do! ;)I hope this isn't supposed to be a forum for certain genres or whatever. My story isn't a manga or anything. I am quite proud of this story. Ally is a fresh ghost (that sounds bad doesn't it?) who is struggling to come to grips not only with the fact that she died, but HOW she died. Jenna is a ghost and also a counsellor who helps new ghosts heal. Jenna has her own story to tell, but we don't learn anything of that in this story. Only Ally's horrifying ordeal. I would class this as pretty icky but it's mostly about human interaction, or ghost-human interaction I guess. If you like ghosts then please do read it! :) I am always happy to return reviews that I get, and I pride myself on being a good constructive reviewer. I've been a beta reader before too. Anyway, my story...! You can read it here: A Ghost's Confession Thanks guys :) | #9 Apr 10th 2007, 12:08am

swords-and-magicI've got a story called My Life Lessons. It has some reviews, but it's generally one person. Not that I don't appreciate that person's reviews, but I'm looking for more readers. If you review my story, I'll jump to your story when I get the chance. Thanks everyone.| #10 Apr 19th 2007, 11:54am

KaelefayMy newest: Deux Ex Machina. It's written in a revolving-viewpoint vignette style; historical fiction. Based loosely on the concept of Shakespeare's 12 Night.SAMPLE: "The bombs are dropping and you are falling too, though—you hope—with more grace. Some might agree with you, and some might not, but it’s your opinion that there are sights in war more graceful than a dump in a parachute. Sometimes you consoled yourself before a jump by thinking of yourself as an angel, bringing light to the darkness; but then your fantasy always gets caught up in sad as you think of once-magnificent, snowy wings amputated in some field hospital, and how you must now fly holding onto a burlap bag far above your head. So now when the air rushes and bombs scream in your air like burning children, you think of your new dress and hose and how you hope you don’t look fat as you plummet to the ground..." Please, read and review--though I agree with truthordeal. If you're just going to leave a "awesome, great job" four-word review, then please don't bother. Like any writer, I want to learn, expand, grow... and for that, I need people to honestly tell me what they think of my work. | #11 May 06th 2007, 10:25am

obsession93I'm gonna talk about the characters from my new story "Guardians" (I'm only going to talk about characters I've already introduced in my story.)Stephanie is an eighth grader who just wants to be happy. And she does her best to look happy around her friends but around her family...they're the very reason why she isn't happy. She's a cute blonde who is very skinny and is usually picked on at school because of her family. Her friends try to defend her but sometimes she gets hurt by their words when her friends aren't around. She very musical and wants to help people. She's also strong but is starting to break down...until Brooks comes along. Anna is one of Stephanie's friends, one whom she always walks to school with. Anna is kind of strange and random but is still a good friend. She likes to imagine and day dream and likes to talk about imagining and day dreaming. Skyler is Stephanie's older friend. In fact she's his only friend. And she's the one who became friends with him. So he tends to be a little quiet and not so responsive. He seems to like lacrosse but doesn't seem like he has the motivation to try out for it. He has no interest in any other people other than Stephanie and likes to make her happy as she likes to make him happy. Allison is a Mormon and tall. She has been friends with Stephanie since they were in elementary school. She usually takes Stephanie to her church on Sundays and plans to invite her to dances when she turns 14. She likes sports and is very athletic. She's a good friend and stands up for people when she can. Rosie is one of the girls' newer friends who moved into the district at the begining of the year. She's tough and doesn't take any crap from anyone...until it comes to her crush, jockey Roger. She likes hip hop and usually is caught listening to her ipod that she shares with Stephanie in math. July is Allison's friend but a lot more is to be known about her. | #12 Jun 11th 2007, 6:29pm

Robbertomo Jerome StraightpenThese are from Trixnaka: DNR. God, I love my characters...Trixnaka: 2600 year old demon hunter. Lost remnant of a native american race. Stony in most cases, but has emotions like anyone else (somewhere). Supreme warrior, confident of many, index of wisdom. History mostly unknown. Chancellor of the International Supernatural Coalition of Psychics. Elijah Immanual (Smith): 30-something year old scientist, president of Elijah Immanual Labs. Superintelligent. Sarcastic and biting. He changes teams so often he is never entirely sure what side he is on. Eric Brahnz: Scientist at EIL, somewhere in his late twenties. A psychic orphan adopted by Trixnaka, left the ISCP to be an underground agent in EIL. At one point, lost contact with ISCP, and became a personal friend of Elijah. Usually a quiet and amiable person, but will retaliate violently to protect Trixnaka and the ISCP. Anne-Marie: 187. Undercover operative for the ISCP within Microsoft. Retired to run a pub in Washington DC. Continually joyfully joking. Often overlooked by onlookers, due to her appearance of innocence. (recently introduced in Fictionpress version) Katuliyen: Age unknown. Undercover operative for the ISCP within the FBI, CIA, and several other agencies. At once. She can multitask. Tutored by Trixnaka for several hundred years, and is thus the second-strongest psychic in ISCP. (recently introduced in Fictionpress version) Josiah: About 10000 years old. Born in the city now called Catal Huyuk. Became the first vampire in history at the age of 27. Terrorized humanity until he was cursed by Katuliyen sometime in the nineteenth century. Now searching out Trixnaka with the FBI. Intents unknown. (barely introduced in Fictionpress version) Yahweh: I could talk of his interesting character forever. ;) Those are just some, probably just my favorites. | #13 Jun 20th 2007, 3:16pm

FreakierThanThouIf nobody minds, I think I'll describe some of my newer characters. Oh, these guys are all from "Luck's Got Nothing to do With It."Zekkin (Zek): He's a magician, but very bad at it. Zekkin is very open-minded about how to become better, but tends to offer more advice than most people want. He's cheerful and believes strongly that laughter can help in any situation. Always looking for a second, third, or forth chance to prove himself, and always giving the other characters those same chances. Hamelin (Melin): A little kid, not too bright, and very frustrated with himself. He has a reverse-curse, giving him brilliant luck. But while he loves helping people, he really just wants to be a normal kid. Wishes he was an explorer, and most people think he's incredibly cute. | #14 Jun 20th 2007, 6:26pm

obsession93okay, now I've added a lot more characters to my story so I'll describe them. (the story is Guardians)Ghetto Dew is a high schooler fairy who has a gangster personality. He'd best friends with Brooks and tends to joke around. He has a crush on Bellflower Cuttings and tends to flirt with her often. His specialty is his leaf guns which he is very good with. Brooks Winters is sixteen years old and an extremely talented fairy. He's funny, brave, determined, spunky, and a bit of a joker. He's very encouraging and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He also does a good impression of Napolean Dynamite. He has some problems though with sleeping which you will find out about if you read the story. He very skilled with his lily blade, fire power and can create an outstanding light sphere. He can also use his wings to camoflauge himself and he can sharpen them into weapons. Dill is Brooks's little brother who likes to prank him when he sleeps. He is in fairy elementary school. Hallow Quillens is more of a nerdy fairy. He always dresses his best and keeps his hair in a pony tail. He very smart and seems to only speak when explaining something that makes him look smart. He's very skilled with a Thorn Windmill which for some reason is uncommon among field fairies. Bellflower Cuttings is one of the popular girls in fairy highschool. Ghetto has a huge crush on her but she usually ignores him. It isn't known if she is annoyed with him or if she's playing hard to get. She's skilled with a confusion veil and carries small bombs around with which we have not yet seen in action. Acorn Oaks is a Guardian fairy who graduated when he was still a Fledge Fairy. He is an icon to all fairies below the level of Guardian who wish to one day become a Guardian. He has blue hair and seems laid back. | #15 Jun 26th 2007, 4:32pm

concerto49Hey cool. There must be a lot of cool characters around.Unfortunately, I felt that for me it's extremely difficult to describe my characters, not because I can't, but because it'll give away the suspense and interest to my stories. Yes, I do a lot of illusion/reality and mysterious stuff in every story so it's more interesting. I'll try and show you what I mean. X Infinity Gary Klive returns to the army after retiring in the previous war. He returns as a rather lowly ranked soldier to serve under Commander Vivien Naro. However, she soon realizes, he's more than she thinks...and see if I went on I'd give it away. Vivien Naro is a commander currently stationed at Marok City. Her parents are currently in enemy territory due to the war. Gary's first impression of her were not good, and those count. The whole thing gets into a mess, and ooh. There's a lot more characters, but they come in a little later, and I'll leave that then *Stops and waves to all and says hi* | #16 Jul 22nd 2007, 3:11am . Edited Jan 30th, 7:18pm

Daphne D'AppleWell in my favorite story that I am writing, Recovering Suicidal Teenage Journal, Anna, the main character, is an ordinary looking girl, who's just very depressed, however she's funny and sarcastic. It's pure humor.| #17 Aug 19th 2007, 12:14pm

Methuselah RenardOf the twelve writings I've posted here, only two have a character named, one bearing the name of a character. This is in large part because I derive inspiration from people like Aesop and the Grimm brothers who, more often than not, leave their characters unnamed in their classic fairy tales and fables.| #18 Dec 10th 2007, 1:20pm

Lauren PerkinsSleeping With Roses:Jordan Rose is the main character, and she is completely without direction. She's just trying to make it in New York City, which always looks so easy on TV. And she's still trying to find her way when she discovers her guardian angel. After mistaking him for a stalker, she is convinced she's going nuts. But NYPD detective Chance Falcetano, now deceased, is as real as anything else, and for a guardian angel, he's pretty moody, careworn, and jaded. And he needs her help: he wants to find the guys who killed him, but he can't do it on his own. So he convinces Jordan to go to his ex-partner, Mike Lacroix. The trouble is, Mike has been pulled from the case that got Chance killed. And Mike has plenty of his own cases to get done. Not to mention he'll never believe that Chance has gone all harp-and-halo on him. But as Jordan begins to appear at Mike's crimescenes, and starts to tell him things only Chance would know, he realizes maybe the girl isn't a total looney. And rather desperate to find Chance's killers, he begins looking into the case when he can get away with it -- he just wasn't expecting Jordan and Chance to help him out on his active cases. |
