Nightmoon Cove has a very clean beach. Listen to the water hitting the shore, head over to the docks, or explore the pier's strange shops. A perfect meeting spot.

Mira folded out her glossy black lounging lawn chair and stabbed the sand with her beach umbrella, also black. She slipped out of her gothic see-through beach dress and laid herself out, her pale skin glowing against the dark black plastic lounging chair and revealing bikini. She reached out into her beach bag sitting beside her and pulled out Jim Butcher's Blood Rites. She lazily starting reading where she had left off and purred to herself with soft content.

Harpsichord had noticed the narrow trail leading to the beach and walked down the dirt path.

Harpsichord stood on the sand, surveying the beach. He looked to the right and saw a black umbrella protuding from the sand, a smudge on the whiteness of the sand. he walked a bit closer and saw a girl, laying on a lounge chair, looking caught up in a book. She looked human, but instinct told him that this girl was far from human.

Harpsichord walked closer to the girl, until finally he was close enough to talk to her without shouting.

"Relaxed?" he said with a smirk.

"Quite." Mira studied him to see if he was the person out of place in this town. He was quite tall and had beautiful crimson eyes that made her melt-- thats suspicous. She lightly set down her book and stood up to face him. He reached out to shake her hand, Mirrosa pulled away hestitating his contact. Hand to hand contact would give her away that she was different, but it would also do the same with him. She decided not to risk it. "So why is a guy like yourself in this little town." she purred, seeing if he reacted to her charisma. Her lips tickled together in a smile so unnoticable even if you had a magnifying glass one would not see it.

Harpsichord's gaze didn't waver as the girl spoke, but inside his head invisble fingers played with the sound. Such a beautiful voice. Was this girl human? Possibly. But he didn't know, considering the way she hesitated on the handshake.

"I come from a quiet town, you see," Harpsichord explained, "and a change of scenery would do a bit of good. You know, new shops, new people..." He knew it was a lie, for most things he said to strangers were lies. The girl, no matter how seductive she tried to be, wouldn't get the truth.

At least for now.

Mira saw right through his lies, but that wasn't too unusual. Humans lie all the time. She started lying to herself: he is just a normal being; he is just a normal being. She repeated the phrase in her head then looked straight at his nose. she didn't want to see his eyes any longer she couldn't bear it.

"Well, thats just peachy I need to go I'm starving." Mira hadn't eaten since the melting of the lock and the fire inside her was starting to grow irritable. She hastily grabbed her things like lifting a feather, she begged he wouldn't offer to help. she sensed something in the air he was the one who had scared the gate, but she didn't have enough fire to finish a real fight. Mira wasn't sure if he could beat her expert shapeshifting, but for now her powers must remain secret.

"Bye for now, by the way my name is Mira." She fluttered her lashes and strutted off her tassels on her bikini bouncing in the wind.

Mira. Harpsichord played with the name in his mind, invisible fingers pulling it around before carefully putting it to memory. He didn't reply with his own; he simply gave the smallest of a nod as she turned and walked away. Mira's hair bounced playfully along with her tassels, and Harpsichord watched her disappear onto the trail and away from him.

Harpsichord stood in the spot for a moment or two before sitting down on the sand where only moments ago Mira had been relaxing before. He couldn't help but shake the feeling he had done something to upset this being, which was the cause of her hasty exit. However, she did give her name, which also led Harpsichord to believe the girl truly was hungry. But the name could be false...

Harpsichord argued with himself for another half hour, staying perfectly still. Finally, he gave up the arguement and stood up. He then too walked away from the beach, heading towards the road where his house stood silently.

Harpsichord sat on the white sand, shoving his hands into it to let the warmth cover them. He watched the ocean hit the cove's sand, and listened to the crashing of the waves. He didn't know for sure why he wanted to talk to Mira, and for that matter, what he would say. The feeling that she knew who he was had been growing ever since he got home last night, and it was driving him insane. Demons weren't the most liked creatures, mostly because they were a harm to mortals and used their charm to manipulate other creature, and on occasion, kill them.

Harpsichord wasn't very much like the other demons though. He at least tamed himself to ally the human race, and even tried not to harm Otherworld creatures. However, he still had to deal with Mira. If she wasn't a mortal, then that meant she was just as capable of forming a grudge as the next one. And if that was the case...

Harpsichord couldn't help but shudder. He had a feeling this conversation wouldn't end as smoothly.

Mira walked on the beach it was night time, but it was still warm. She noticed the demon she had encountered earlier. Mira didn't have enough in her to deal with her emotions with that guy. She didn't have her bikini bottom on, but she had the bikini top on and loose fitting black cargo pants. Her hair was in her face, she was glad it was. She didn't have her make-up on. She felt the fire inside her grow furious in the presence of a demon. She tried her best to hide herself without her powers but he still saw her and was coming toward her. Mira really did not want to be seen by him, but there was nothing she could do about it. I'll just destroy him if he's the least bit impolite. She sighed and allowed him come closer.

"Hello, Mira," Harpsichord said when he got over to her. He was taken a bit off guard when he saw the firey look of anger or frustration in her eyes. He wondered in the back of his mind why she was mad.

"Why do I have a feeling you had a bad day?" he asked with a smirk.

"Maybe it's your demon's intuition." Mira said coldly as she folded her arms, giving him a dead stare of pure anger. "You could have told me the truth Harpsicord." Mira knew his name, for his violin had it etched in the oak.

The smirk was instantly wiped off his face. He was in absolute suprise, and for a few seconds it showed on his face. That's when it hit him: Mira would have at least been a bit scared to bring it up if she was human. So that meant...

"Well, you're not exactly human either," Harpsichord shot back. "So what does that make you then? Vampire? A dark angel? You might as well just say it now."

"I'm your worst nightmare. More powerful than you ever imagine." Mira snapped. She knew she was powerful, more powerful than any demon. Mira's hand morphed into a scaly dragon claw and grabbed Harpsicord's arm, tightly enough to draw blood, pulling him to the front of her face. "I hope you realize who the hell your dealing with, Halloween reject." She smirked and waited as Harpsicord eyes widened and he stood speechless. Mira was absolutely infuriated if any fire was nearby it would have combusted into an inferno.

Any other time, Harpsichord would have fought back as hard as he could. But in this case, that wouldn't help much. Shapeshifters were notorious for their strength and cunning, and Harpsichord never did anything to affend them. It was clear that Mira intended to rip him limb from limb and throw the little pieces in the ocean and let the sharks rip him up even more. He quickly formed an idea in his head that would either help or hurt the situation.

"Okay, okay. Just calm down for a minute here," he said. "I haven't harmed you yet, have I? I have no intention to harm you or anyone else of your race. You see, I am actually so much better than all the other mutts of my race running around. I at least don't do anything to hurt anyone intentionally. maybe we just need to calm down for a moment and rethink our initial meeting."

He held out his free hand. "I'm Harpsichord. I am a demon, but I swear I won't hurt you," he said. "And you, my new friend, are the prettiest shapeshifter I've ever seen."

Suddenly, as if the moment called for it, Harpsichord quickly leaned in and kissed Mira on the cheek.

Mira's cheeks flushed as she stared at Harsichord in any other situation she would have shredded him by now, but Harpsichord must have magic lips because Mira could feel her anger flow out of her. Mira purred, she could feel the frustration seep out of her feet. Mirrosa stared in Harpsichord's anxious crimson eyes, she saw some good, some caring part of him. "Then take a vow. A vow to never hurt another being," she paused, "I will show you how to feed without hurting." Mira patiently waited. Harpsichord started to answer but before he could finish Mira fell snapping his arm as she fell unconscious into his bloodied arms.

Before Mira blacked out she heard Harpsichord scream as his arm broke. "Oops, that'll teach you- you can't feed until I fix your arm." she mocked as she passed out on his sandy bloody torso.

Mira fell limp in Harpsichord's hands, and Harpsichord could tell she had just passed out. Thankfully.

As her hand morphed back into a human's, Harpsichord placed a hand under her legs and held her in his arms for a moment. He decided not to leave her on the beach; instead he held her there, and began to quietly walk to his house.

"I hope you like tea, Mira," he mumbled quietly.

Ceille hid behind some large rocks, next to a little tide pool. She saw some hermit crabs and a starfich, and she thought they were cute.

Ceille laid down by the pool, and after a while fell asleep with the sound of crashing waves echoing happily in her ears.

Ceille awoke, and it took her a moment to remember where she was.

She stood, brushing the grains of sand off her. She stared at the ocen for a moment, and began to walk on the beach. Those boys occupied her thoughts, along with the mysterious Mirrosa. She longed to actually get to know them, but then again, who would want to befriend a demon and a shapeshifter.

She sighed. Her, the friendless freak would be willing to.

she would wait until sunset. Then she would go to the neighborhood and try to find a place to rest.

Mira ran until she felt the cold sand on her paw pads. She morphed into Mira again wishing she could just be a cat forever. She started sobbing as soon as she morphing, she hadn't cried in over a thousand years. In fact she hadn't shown any emotion except anger in over two thousand years. She didn't plan on stopping, she cried and cried.

Firebreathers don't cry they just don't waterbenders cry. She wasn't suppose to show emotion, emotions show weakness. Mira screamed in frustration. Thats the only thing her kind cared about, don't show weakness. Not ever. Mira had though.

Maybe it was the shapeshifter in her, shapeshifters were caring, compassionate, and beautiful. Firebreathers were stubborn, angry, and horrible.

She laid there crying and crying until she finally stopped and laid down, emotionally and physically exhausted.

Mira forced her body up and walked down the beach ever so slowly. She wanted to lay there for eternity to just let her troubles seep into the sand. But that couldn't happen, the shapeshifter in her wanted to enjoy the peace the beach brought to your soul while the Firebreather in her wanted to leave NOW, not in five minutes, not a hour, NOW. So she left, and she continued walking wishing someone would give her a reason any reason at all to stop walking and to enjoy life, but until that happened she would keep walking. Forever.

Belladonna slowly took steps onto the beach, leaving the small forest path. She hated the beach, so disgusting. She quickly grabbed her hood that was lazily hanging on her shoulders and pulled it up. She sensed someone was coming so she made haste. Sh went to the dunes where her footprints would not be visible and went invisible. Slowly and taking her time toward the more active part of the small town. Belladonna checked again and sensed the same people that had been at the gate. She decided she wanted to see if they were worth any time or not. "Awaken." she commanded to her ring and instantly a small silver dragon was crawling on her arm no larger than a tennis ball. "SilverHeart, inspect the strange beings. I shall return the time of strange beings departure." She stated to the dragon, the dragon nodded and flew away toward the beings. Belladonna closed her eyes and sat for a moment.

Harpsichord really wished that Kalcifer would let him go, but after a while he got used to the squeezing sensation. A smile lit up Ceille's face, and the bounce in her light steps gave her the look of a child instead of a teenager. Harpsichord was more and more reminded of how much she looked like his little Janice.

"Look at the sand, guys!" she said happily. "And the water looks really nice!" Harpsichord relized he was smirking at her by that point. He thought he heard a little laugh from Kalcifer, and he felt the grip loosen as he followed Ceille to the water. Harpsichord stood there for a moment, watching as Ceille suddenly dove into the waves. She popped up, completely drenched. She was laughing by that point, playfully reaching for Kalcifer to shove him in.

Harpsichord laughed, the sound strange to him because he hadn't heard it in so long. He found himself bending down to take off his shoes. He would stay in the waves, careful not to go where his feet couldn't reach. He had taken only one step barefoot on the sand before he felt it.

It was a dark feeling, as if Hell itself burned inside of him. The demonic presence of something even stronger than Satan tainted the air and made him feel suffocated inside. He took a quick scan around, but couldn't find the focus of such a strong feeling. He felt the same as when he was dying in that alley way. He grew so absorbed in his feeling he barely noticed Ceille calling his name or Kalcifer's confused gaze.

Kalcifer POV:

Kalcifer nervously shook his head at Ceille's gesture to the water. It was dangerous for him to get in the water with his emotions the way they were. He tried to give a smile, but it ended up a slightly fearful face. Kalcifer walked back over Harpsichord and took a loose grip on his wrist. Kalcifer quickly lost all expression when he noticed the way Harpsichord as behaving. "Harpsichord, are you o-o-o-ok?" Kalcifer failed in hiding his worry. Harpsichord didn't answer, Kalcifer wasn't sure if Harpsichord could hear him or not. Kalcifer's arms were now shaking, Kalcifer could hear the waves grow larger and quickly let go of harpsichord's hand. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths. Once he had calmed down the waves ceased and the water returned to it's normal temperature. "H-h-h-harpsichord?" Kalcifer repeated as he returned beside him, and took a hold of his forearm trying to calm himself. Ceille frowned and called both their names again.

Belladonna POV: Belladonna had been meditating, but had been interupted by the beings presence. The demon had sensed her, but could not locate her. She let out a calm hiss and got up charming the sand off her. She was still invisible so she carefully made her way through the brush, careful not to touch it and give herself away. She stayed silent and made her way on to the wooden walkway to the downtown area. She made slow steps down the walkway, she cast a dark spell to make her maryjanes mute. She kept her face utterly dead from emotion as she left the beings knowing her SilverHeart would bring her what she wished.

SilverHeart went onto the sand and let out a snarl, it couldn't just go up to them. The earthbender would sense its silver body. It decided to go unseen and unsensed with a curse it master had taught it. It quickly took into the air and watched the three with sharp, for now gold, eyes.

It was gone. The feeling still faintly lingered in the air, but it was small enough not to create such strong emotion. Harpsichord took a shuddering breath, suddenly aware of the attention Ceille and Kalcifer were giving him. Ceille had left the waves and had come to see if he was okay, and Kalcifer's expression was one of worry.

He gave his head a hard shake and focused on the two.

"I'm fine," he said flatly, his voice not conveying much emotion. "It was nothing, I just thought I saw someone."

"No one else is on the beach though," Ceille protested.

"Proving my thoughts wrong. Now are we doing this beach thing or what?" Harpsichord gave a smirk, but it was more forced than natural. Whatever that being was, he had a feeling it wouldn't leave them alone so easily.

"Um S-s-s-sure. Are you sure it w-w-was noth-th-thing?" Kalcifer said, his worry still heard but not as clear. Kalcifer swallowed and looked Ceille who was now standing by them. "W-w-well I think I sh-sh-should just stay on l-l-l-land if thats o-o-o-ok." Kalcifer said nervously, his emotions lingered but were now somewhat controlled. He gave a weak smile that didn't last long and stood there, feeling out of place. Still holding onto Harpsichord's forearm and guiltily loving it.

Harpsichord broke his gaze and looked across the ocean for a moment. He didn't get a chance to respond, because Ceille was already gently drifting the conversation away from the subject.

"That's okay, Kalcifer," she said brightly. "If you don't want to swim, it's perfectly fine with me." Ceille gave him a smile before turning to look at Harpsichord. "Maybe getting in the water will help, Harpsichord!"

He paused for a moment, unsure of how to answer her. Finally he said, "I suppose so. But I'm not going too far."

"o-o-o-ok, thank y-y-you." Kalcifer scratched the back of his head and went over to a spot somewhat near the waves and sat down. He sighed and drew some realistic pictures of fish in the sand. He smiled and bent the sand with some quick movements of his hands the fish were moving around on the sand as if they were alive. He hid a laugh by biting his black lip. He continued this trying his best to ignore the water. Oddly enough, strange memories of his sister formed and a picture of her appeared in the sand. She look tiny compared to the koi like fish swimming around her. She started smiling and dancing, Kalcifer was a tad suprised at this. He was seeing his sister smilimg and dancing peacully, but he had never seen her smile. This thought nagged him, but he decided to push it out of his mind and enjoy the moment.

SilverHeart flew just above Harpsichord's head, a silk screen of invisiblity covering its silver scales. SilverHeart closely listened to every word he spoke with utter silence.

Ceille ran back out into the water again, only this time Harpsichord was slowly coming behind her. "Come on, Harpsichord!" she called excitedly.

"I'm coming!" he called back. Ceille laughed and dove into the water once more.

She felt really happy to be in the water. She felt free every time she dove underneath the waves. The ocean felt really safe and she liked the feeling. When she popped back up, Harpsichord had mae it over to her. She laughed and splashed him playfully in the face. He stumbled back and fell into the water. She giggled as he splashed her with a smirk back.

Ceille looked up to see Kalcifer drawing moving pictures in the sand. Suddenly, she began to realize that this is probably what families felt like. The thought made her feel warm and welcome and very, very happy. This must be another part of the real world that was worth remembering.

She barely heard the faint sound of a police siren.

Kalcifer smiled at the picture of Janie, he long to reach out and touch her. His smile grew when Harpsichord and Ceille appeared on the sand. Harpsichord was smiling and had a glowing halo above his head. While Ceille had large angelic wings that were larger than her, she started dancing with Janie. Harpsichord smile and was laughing. again Kalcifer had never seen him do this, but it was comforting seeing him do this-- even if it wasn't real. He wanted to hug them and know that all he loved, loved him just as much. Alas, that would not happen, but that wouldn't keep him from watching them be happy.

Kalcifer's face went white as his brother appeared in the sand. He wasn't smiling. He had a disgusted look on his face, and Kalcifer watched in horror as he slaughtered his sand pictures. The large koi were flopping as they suffocated, his friends disappated as they died. After a few minutes Rorek just stood there covered in blood with a horrible smile on his face. Kalcifer let out a shaky breath, he didn't want to be alone with Rorek-- real or not. Kalcifer shuddered and blew away the sand as he got up and walked toward Harpsichord and Ceille. He didn't wish to get in the water so he decided to try something. He got into a odd contorted position and focused hard. He let out a soft breather and walked on the water. The salt ocean behind him froze solid into a icy walkway on the water. He walked all the way to Harpsichord and sat down on his thick, cold, flat, smooth, and shiny slate of ice. He kept focusing so the salt wouldn't melt his seat. He took a shuddery breath and let his shins and feet into the warm water. He knew Ceille knew about his powers, Harpsichord didn't. He might, but Kalcifer knew he hadn't told him directly. He sat casually on his block of ice by Harpsichord and let a small awkward wave. "H-hi."
