Jess smiled and nodded.

"Can you say a question?" He gave out a small laugh. "I'm usually good with answering questions about myself."

Jess laughed."Hm...what's your favorite color?"

Clark grinned. Her laugh was was very soothing to him. "I guess I pick blue," he said. "Hey, aren't your eyes blue?"

"Yes,they are."Jess said,with a grin.

"Then blue's definitely my favorite color. What else do you want to know?"

"Hmm...anything you enjoy doing?"

"That's pretty complicated to me," Clark admitted. "I'm not exactly sure. I don't get a lot of opprotunities to do because of my family."

Jess' brows pulled down."Why is that?"

"I've seen some people who don't enjoy immigrants around." Clark shrugged his shoulder. "I was actually born in the states, you see. Well, actually me and my twins were born while my parents were on their way to the states."

"That's horrible."Jess said,her brows pulling down.

"Some people are just paranoid, don't like things to change sharply," Clark responded. He reached for her hand to squeeze it. "You're a very nice person, though. I like that. I can see that you don't judge anyone harshly."

Clark started playing with her fingers lightly. "You almost sounded like an angel just by saying that," he joked.

"Well, I thought it would be a compliment to you that I said you're an angel," Clark admitted. "Should I not tell you that you are?"

"Well,it is,"Jess said,nodding."But I'm hardly an angel,Clark."

He brought her hand closer while he was still holding, then he kissed the back of Jess's hand. "I think you are, though. Why'd you say you hardly one?"

"Because."Jess smiled and shrugged."I'm not an angel,Clark."

Clark wondered if she thought he meant it literally, so he said, "Well, calling you an angel was just an expression...."

Clark smiled. He picked up the stack of letters again, and his smile faltered as he looked through the rest of them. "This isn't right," he muttered to himself.

Clark pulled out a postcard from the group. "I sent this about a month ago," he said. "It was supposed to be mailed to my cousins somewhere in Europe. I haven't heard from them since that Olympics in Germany. That was nearly five years ago."

"Maybe the address is wrong?"Jess asked,biting her bottom lip.

He shook his head. "No, I put down the right address. I heard they were on some kind of vacation and thought they'd read it when they got home," he said. "Honestly, I doubt that. Most of the fights are in Europe."

Looking at their hands together, Clark managed to smile just a bit. "I guess you're right," he said, and placed a light kiss on the back of her hand. "It's just pretty hard for me to be that optamistic."

Jess smiled at him,squeezing his hand."Don't worry about that.I'll help you be optomistic."

"That'll help me when I'm in physical therapy, right? I heard other people say it hurts most of the time."
